Sister Sophia

Location: the Park - Quenched Forest Cinders
Talking with: Jin Sunrise @floodtalon

The reference in Jin’s comment about being a predator went completely over Sophia’s head as she and the announcer finished their business. While it was good that she wasn’t having to attack a fortress every round it still pissed her off that had happened in the first place.

She let out a snarl at the centipede based butchering of the name of her holy profession. There was a loud thud, followed by cracking and then a considerably louder crash as the referenced limb brought down one of the smaller fire weakened trees. She hated that this clown was her line to the collage, but finding out what the xeno’s where up to was important, so she would tolerate his awful sense of humor for now. She could deliver her righteous fury upon him later. They would all pay for their part in this.

A few moments later she commenced walking towards the supply cache and once she had calmed down, spoke with the human on the other end of the connection. Maybe this one would be less of an asshole.

”Sit tight. I’m coming to you. I have some business to attend to first though, so it’ll be” She made a rough guess of how long it would take to resupply and then get the drone up to get some better readings of the bird thing ”about an hour or so”

There was a moment of silence as she considered what to do with this communication line, the only sound her trudging through the muck on her way through the forest she had torched. In the distance however, she could see where the burnt shafts ended and untouched woodland began, the edge of where the fire had reached before the colossal downpour from the previous night had quenched the flames. Whoever had been put in charge of the starting positions had clearly not considered the consequences of putting a flamer wielding nun in the middle of a tone of firewood. Or maybe they had and considered it preferable to having her burning down the town.

”So”

Perhaps she could reach this human, to have him join her in ending this heretical tournament before more human souls were stolen.

”Have you accepted the God Emperor of Mankind as your lord and savior?”

Unseen to everyone Geromory, the mutant currently being puppeted by a fragment of that Emperor's soul, performed a double facepalmed combo in response to her introduction.
I'm interested. Might do something to do with gorilla city, that could be fun.
@Dead Cruiser

#1: The video game can't be spun off of an existing piece of media.
I'll endeavor to finish the Naija post I have planned in the next few days

@Crosswire

I complacently forgot that it was Taric's turn in out organically formed posting order. My apologies. If you have an idea of to post go right ahead, because at the moment I do not.

Interested
should we do character reservations? I haven't decided what I'm doing quite yet but i thought it might be a good thing to do. also by the way, the waiting room pic doesn't load as the link is to the wiki page hosting the image and not the image itself.

Some time earlier

Sonia sat restlessly in the shuttle craft as it departed from the spaceport, taking her up and away from the surface of Dawn and towards the stars. She remembered the last time she had tried to take this trip. It had not ended well. She was damned if she was going to let them catch her off guard again, she was convinced she had foiled at least 3 attempts on her life today simply by being vigilant.

“Would you calm down, nothing’s going to happen. They’re not going to be so stupid as to try the same thing twice”

That was Nathan, in his opinion only one of those recent attempts had been been her imagination and even then it wasn't a sure thing. She had first met him in her time in the Merovingian Rapid Response Force but unlike her he had spent most of the last 6 years there, before being transferred to the O-12. It was he who had taken interested in the lengthy bureaucratic nightmare and legal prossessions she had been involved with after hiking back to civilizations. As a part of that mess he had interviewed her on behalf of the O-12 as a result of her accusations directed towards The Druze Society. In the end she had gotten some of her possessions and inherited wealth back but they couldn’t make any of her accusations of assassination and thievery stick to The Druze Society.

During that time he had brought her file to the attention of his colleagues and somebody had apparently taken interest in her skills and record. So as a result they were currently both traveling to the O-12 Bureau Noir Headquarters, him for debriefing and her to meet the team she had been assigned too.

”I am calm. I’m the perfect picture of serenity. I’m just being cautious is all”

“That's all fair and good but they aren't going to mess with two O-12 agents, not this publicly anyway. So let it go before you start sprouting hairs”

”We’ll see.”

In the end Nathan was right, nobody tried anything and as they got further from Dawn she even managed to relax enough to actually get some reading done. There had been so many new releases while she had been gone, it was nice to have some time to catch up with her favorite authors’ new works.
I made a goblin

Location: Atlantic Ocean
Interacting with: Master Grey @The One

Cthylla felt the metal vessel approaching long before it surfaced and slowed her great stead to a halt so that she could receive her guest. Only the foolish or the brave would dare attack The Old One with a vehicle so small, so she let it come closer so she could find out what they wanted.

With the fog hanging in the air she could vaguely make out the shape of the man who emerged from the vessel, a human wearing long robes and seemingly unarmed. Not that that meant much when people with powers like her existed, but his non threatening posture and the friendly tone he used as he spoke in his native tongue suggested that he was not here to fight. Then he raised his arm towards her, perhaps in some kind of greeting. She was not sure.

Cthylla walked down the head of the beast and the stepped barefooted onto the cold metal of the submarine. Her stride was one of someone trying their hardest to maintain a dignified composure despite never having walked anywhere before in their life. When she was close enough not to have to shout she said to him in a calm tone:

”Ya ilyaa ee. Ya stell’bsna shugg-oth lw'nafh phlegeth”
(I expect answers. I ask the native of earth to transmit information.)

She noted that her voice sounded strange in the open air as she reached past the man’s outstretched arm and placed her palm against his forehead. She needed to get a better picture of a human mind, to learn the shape of their brains and to find where the different parts where so that she could more easily engage with them in telepathy in future. Physical contact helped her focus on this one specimen and block out most of the noise of the life around them. She pointedly held the great beast’s mind in her thrall at the same time and its mental presence could be felt looming behind hers, a mind vast, glacial and alien. She tried to make her invasion of his mind as unthreatening as possible, doing the mental equivalent of knocking at the door to let him know she was coming in.

The first thing she realized was he was old. Very old. There was a lot of information in here and it was rather rigid in it’s structure. She would need a younger mind, where information flowed in and out more freely, if she wanted to absorb their knowledge rapidly. She could learn some things simply from glancing at his most pressing of thoughts. He knew what she was, he knew of the others she had yet to meet and he knew of the elemental king. These things were obvious, she did not evan have to dig in his vast pool of knowledge for those facts as they were at the forefront of his mind. She needed more though.

She politely presented the man with mental queries of where the other chosen and the elemental king could be found. This was not through words but through ideas: the concept of place, the feeling of confusion and the surface thoughts he had of the elemental king and the chosen were all lumped together and his attention brought to this bundle.

As they wandered through the town Iris felt more and more guilt for her former disdain for the humans. She had been so quick to judge, but here they were, Sabu having numerous friendly greetings thrown at him as they made their way to the magic tester. At least she assumed they were friendly, she only recognised the Dragon blooded goblin’s name out of their sentences, but their tone was certainly welcoming.

There were so many interesting sights to see, she had to fight against her natural curiosity in order to not get separated from the group. She wasn’t sure if she liked the noise however, nor how cramped it was, it was somewhat suffocating to be surrounded by all these massive busy humans. Certainly an interesting place to visit, but so far she would not like to live here.

Iris was slightly surprised by the nature of the place they had been taken and by the one that greeted them. She was more surprised when the boy began to speak the in goblin tongue. She supposed maybe he dealt with their kind on a regular basis?

She wondered about the boy, was he some kind of magical prodigy, an old man who made himself young or perhaps an apprentice to the real mage who was busy doing magic stuff in the back. She was leaning towards the last but imagined it would be rude to assume any of her guesses.

She offered a ”Nice to meet you" and a wave before seating herself in one of the haphazardly placed chairs as kife ears eagerly put herself first in line. She would wait her turn to come, hopefully this would not take to long. She was looking forwards to lunch.
