Sage Monsoon

Sage stopped suddenly as he was accosted by an arrogant-sounding voice. He turned to look at the source of the voice, raising an eyebrow as he did so. Clearly the two of them had been schooled in the Saturday Morning Cartoon variety of etiquette, with a side of, "How to be an Obnoxious Human Being." He resisted the urge to roll his eyes- that might just provoke another snide comment from the pair- and turned to Morgana.

"Hmm... what do you think, Morgana? Should we oblige their sad little demands and give them a show? I, for one, can see it being quite entertaining."

He didn't really want to fight these two losers, if he was being honest- he had Pokemon to catch, after all. But something inside him was cheering at the idea of knocking them down the ladder a few rungs, if only because they might be more humble to whoever came after them. He waited for Morgana's answer patiently.

@Brose
@13org Okay. And yeah, if I make my Hunter, sure- they can have a connection to either of them. Maybe even both.
I've hit upon an idea for a witch, but I need some background to make it work. First question: technology in this world is at least to clockwork levels, yes? I'm assuming, given the Bloodborne feel I'm getting.

Second question: how amenable is technology to magic? Can it be enchanted? And to what extent?
@WeepingLiberty I was thinking something along the lines of the very latter-a weapon that itself was unnatural, even if the character himself is "ordinary." If it doesn't end up passing, I can always just make a male witch, I suppose.
Can Hunters use magic? Or is this kind of a Bloodborne-type deal, where you just use tools?

Mako gaped after Sato as he made his exit, not quite able to hide the blush that had lit up his cheeks. His wrist still tingled from where Sato had touched it, and his heart was still skipping beats because of the older boy's words. That... that felt like a senpai move. Like, completely and totally senpai. Am I in an anime? He chuckled at that thought. It wasn't too far off to say that, considering his surroundings at present. Still, best to save thoughts like that for later- for now, they had a fight to win, and some more people to save.

Of course, that positive sensation only lasted as long as it took for the fight to actually begin, where things started to go... less well than they could have. First was the near-crippling shiver of fear he'd experienced when the girl's Shadow had transformed into its monstrous state- he winced as he flashed back to his own horrifying ideal. His sympathies went out to her... right up until she put herself in danger by swinging a sword at her own Shadow, which was less than ineffective, it was actively hindering their progress. Not much use in coming all this way if she got herself killed, after all.

Luckily, Rui managed to save her, as Mako and the others pulled the girl back, forming a defensive ring around her, just as more of those Knights showed up to ruin their day. Great.

Mako turned to the girl they were protecting. "Stay behind us, miss. We'll take it from here." He then turned back, just in time to almost catch a Knight's sword to the face. He quickly summoned Israfil to block the blow, the sound of it clanging against his Persona's trumpet reverberating around the open space. Mako concentrated, before Debilitating the Knight that had attacked him, following up with a punch from his armored knuckles. The blow struck true, causing a sizable dent in the Knight's armor. Mako grinned at the sight.

He turned back toward Sato, just as his senpai was turning back toward the fight, presumably finished doing what Mako was doing now. Mako smiled at seeing Sato still safe, then turned back again into the fray, eager to be done with this Shadow nonsense for the time being...
Sage Monsoon

Sage smirked, amused, as Morgana described hers and Luft's chances, which admittedly weren't terrible, he had to concede. Still, it didn't stop the young woman's "ooh, spooky" description from being more than a little funny. He was going to enjoy traveling together with her, he could tell. His lips quirked into a more genuine smile as he raised his hands mock-defensively.

"All right, all right. I'm sure you wouldn't be challenging the League unless you were confident in your capabilities." He hitched his bag over his shoulder, then nodded. [color=lightgreen]"Well, if that's all, then we should be off. If we're gonna be big, bad, Championship-winning Trainers, it'll pay to get started as soon as possible, yeah?" He headed toward the exit, his new partner in tow, on their way east.

Route 9

On the Road to Amalgam

Sage breathed deeply of the air around Route 9, already enamored with how easygoing the feel of the area was. His mouth watered at the smell of the food stalls, but he resisted for now; he wasn't hungry, so much as bored, and he had work to do, anyway. He checked the map again, taking note of the detours into more wild areas of the route. While he was eager to make his way to Arsenic and find a suitable Poison-type for challenging the Fairy Gym leader, it would do him no favors to ignore any opportunities to catch Pokemon here. He turned back to Morgana

"So... what do you think? I was gonna go off the beaten path for a while and try to catch a Pokemon or two. Care to join me?"

@Brose
@EnterTheHeroYou play Warframe?....
Wanna play sometime?

I only get time on the weekends, usually, but sure!
@Archmage MC It's really not fun unless you have people to play with, I agree.
