To Acid Drop, Kaeru’s emotions may have been palpable, but Nonsuch’s were scalding. It was a fiery sense that scorched the Empath, as if biting into fresh peppers; the sting, then the burn. An obstinate righteousness, one that transcended the reason of philosophers and lawmakers, one that brooked no compromise. T’was not battle-confidence, not even battle-readiness, that filled the blonde paladin up.

T’was a brilliance of such intensity that it chased all else away. T’was the eye of a nuclear reactor, terrible in its unforgiving self-destruction. Brilliance, suited for casting the stark shadows within which the Detention Club dwelt.

And yet, the only hint of that madness that leaked through was the applause of Nonsuch, her steel gauntlets clanking together as Shatterscape’s tirade, eloquent as it was, found its match in the emotional outburst of Kaeru’s. It didn’t have to be Hibusa, that the Dark Magical Girls dwelt. They didn’t even have to be together, mucking about together in school and after school. Light or Dark, they were magical girls all the same, and their TV-headed mascots didn’t make a distinction whether they lived with their family still, or if they made do with cardboard boxes and almost-expired bentos. If there was a single reason for this…well, Nonsuch spoke it out pretty clearly.

“Aren’t you getting things mixed up here? There’s more evil in the world than good, Shatterscape. We’re the ones that have it hard! Isn’t that why you’ve fallen?”

Like that, what tenuous peace could’ve existed was broken. A destructive beam rippled through the night sky, striking Kaeru’s frog a moment too late to capitalize on its more mundane form. From the cloud of debris kicked up by the collision, the ever-chivalrous Bakegama emerged, ready to become the guardian of the shrine maiden. The new girl made the correct decision, extricating herself from the chaos expediently before the full ‘might’ of the Detention Club emerged. Nonsuch called out behind her, a cheery cry to send her off: “Remember! Shoot the eyeballs!”

Then, there upon the water tower, Nonsuch leapt up as well, sailing high into the sky. The night wind whistled in her ears, the city lights sparkled in her eyes, the world opened up dark and bright. She reorientated herself, feet planting upon the haft of her Warhammer, and then kicked off, an arcane repulsion launching both Maiden and Armament away at incredible speeds.

One flew down, with a vicious, destructive roar. Acid Drop had not escaped the paladin’s gaze at the apex of her leap, and between the near-immortal Shatterscape and a random weirdo who didn’t wield any obvious weapons, it was obvious who the weak link was. She was going to be crushed flat, splattered against the rooftops like a tomato, unless something was done.

Another flew forth, with a glorious, banshee-like laugh. Evil Eye’s minions were well-dispersed, but the Detention Club was never all that talented when it came to hiding. In the split second of Nonsuch flying by another of the Mogall’s, she made sure to look right into the monster, right into the maiden behind the monster, and flash a grin that was wide eyes, bared teeth. A naked threat, to give Shatterscape, that immortal on the rooftops, another option.

Save Acid Drop and then chase the new girl, or return and protect Evil Eye before Nonsuch crushed her real eyes. And there wasn’t all that much time. Shatterscape was immortal and could seemingly appear from nowhere, but Nonsuch was just plain fast, a shooting star with a hammer attached!

“Oh shoooooooooooooooot!” The Doppler effect made it almost incomprehensible. “Kaeru, we didn’t even get her nameeeeeeeeeeee!"

Lycoris just went “fuck this shit I’m out” kekekek.
Gonna post once Cami does.
A lot of em are, ye.

I don't know if a lot of people are quitting forum RP to do Discord RP though. It's fundamentally a different experience. But the faster pace is pretty attractive. Personally haven't actually come across a Discord RP that lasted significantly longer than your typical Guild RP. And the 2000 character Discord message limit is a pain and a blessing.

It rolled.

Senses tuned for any changes, Serenity noticed the orb as it rolled out from the cover of smoke. Synapses fired off in that instant, lightning striking through her mind. It rolled. Wasn't thrown. Couldn't accomplish that sort of movement while moving through the smoke laterally. Her opponent was just as blind as she was, shrouded in self-same smoke.

Go!

Her right hand flicked forth, right as the thunderclap struck. Light scored between the slits of her visor, slicing lines of blindness within her vision. The sound was worse though, echoing through her helmet with a nauseating intensity. That was the thing, wasn't it? Years spent training, but she had yet to grasp the secret of slicing sound. Blood leaked, hot and sticky, from her ruptured eardrums. She didn't need her hearing though. Her hand grasped her sword, drawing the blade out. Her shield was extended outwards, a motion that simultaneously exposed her armpit. With a guard like this, she was fundamentally providing a target for her opponent, one that she could close and then counter, the moment he went for it.

But that too, perhaps wasn't something that she needed.

After all, he had rolled that orb. He had exposed his location. And in response, her right hand had flicked forth, throwing his poisoned dagger in that same direction. If her prediction was correct, he would have rushed forth from the same direction as his Flash Crystal and, lightly armored as he was, would have rushed forth right into the whistling blade.

If it proved incorrect? Well, that was why she was giving him a tempting option.
@Nanaya
If you want to keep things at a steady pace, a smaller group works better, I'd feel. The ideal would probably have been to cap it at 5 and then do acceptances based off of a deadline, picking out the best sheets out of however many you receive before said deadline.

Since you've already started accepting though, that's a bit awkward, so I guess it's mostly just gonna be first come first served.
Ey Nanaya, so I recall that you wanted a group of 4-5 players. Right now, the interested people exceed that number, so what's the plan there? Expanding the group size, or doing some sorta first-come-first served thing?
Naw, Emeth confirmed earlier in the OOC that she can't talk through her Mogalls.
Hm, can probably imagine things getting real messy real fast, with the amount of characters that'll be together soon.

In truth, Nonsuch was fine with leaving out the new girl to dry. It was the way of magical girls and the way of the solar system, after all. A singular light, against many shadows. If that pink, fluffy gal couldn't figure out how to handle herself around the entirety of the Detention Club, she wasn't going to last long in Hibusa.

At the minimum, they operated in pairs. At the maximum? Between Shatterscape, Kriegspiel, Evil Eye, and Will of the Wisps, it was like going up against a small army. A baptism was required, as such. The winged archer (reminded Nonsuch of Pit) needed to show the bare minimum of being able to escape from a collective of ten dark magical girls first, before the idea of sticking around here was to be entertained.

Alas, the Light Magical Girls of Hibusa weren't nearly the same sort of monolithic force as Schrade and Friends, and while Nonsuch may have simply brought out the popcorn if she were alone, Kaeru was inviting her to a party, so who was she to say no? They sailed through the nightscape upon an amphibian's back, her lips stretched out in a bright smile, before an entrance most dynamic saw the mismatched pair descend upon the same rooftops as Shatterscape and new girl. Crouched upon a water tower, Nonsuch waved at Shatterscape cheerily, her hammer leaning casually against her shoulder. She had chosen an elevated position for herself that was behind both Kaeru and new girl, providing a wider field of view and, more importantly, the opportunity to look down on that mishmashed jiangshi-oni-mecha girl.

"And I'm Nonsuch," she called out. "Take a look upwards, new-girl. Here in Hibusa, there's a certain rule we all follow, ok? Whenever you see something that looks like a flying eyeball, you kill it! It belongs to this super creepy voyeur, you see. You'd be doing a public service by keeping the sky free of those types."

A roll of her eyes, exaggerated.

"Of course, if you do, you can expect to get jumped by this chimeric girlie over here, but hey. That's how the dark girls roll. Accomplices n everything."
