Maybe I'll play Cyberpunk 2077 some more. My brother maxed out my character a year and a half ago. Haven't seen him since. Miss him.

”Mr. Dawson, why don't you have a seat?” He said, gesturing to the brown leather chair he had his hand resting on.

The men behind Adel stepped forward. They each placed a firm hand around his upper arms, half-guiding, half-dragging Adel to the seat. If Adel struggled in any way, their plan would have been quickly subduing him with a blow to the cheek - but besides tensing up, the man didn’t fight.

They shoved Adel into the seat, twisting it so it faced the mirror. Vincent still had that smirk on his face as he picked up a bowl of shaving cream and an applicator brush on the counter.

Slowly, methodically, Vincent applied shaving cream to Adel's face while speaking.

”Now, my men tell me that you and your spies have decided to make it your home in White Pine. Not that I care too much about that.”

He set down the bowl, picking out a barber's blade instead. He opened it, the fresh gleam of a clean, sharp blade within.

“What I really care about, though, is who set you up to do this.”

The blade pressed against Adel's neck as Vincent leaned over, staring at the man through the mirror.

”So, what'll it be, Canary? You gonna sing?”

Nocturnal Memoirs (2024)

"A million times I have done this charade. The moment people figure it out, I get the boot." she thought.

"But don't you want to see the fear in their eyes when they see who you really are...? Don't you want dominion of this place, just like how you were unchallenged in Vaal Kastrix?" said the Voice.

Ciara scoffed, immediately thinking of Gulliver and Valen. "I'd love to wipe the smirk off their faces."

"It starts by building a rumor. A rumor of power. This could be the place to start."

She took a deep breath, narrowing her eyes resolutely at the Undermage. "Head Advisor, with all due respect, you have no right to ask me about my intentions. If you want answers..."

She stood from her seat, rising to her full height.

"You'll have to duel me for them."

It's officially Lexi's turn!

The Louvre, Gala, Main Area

@Lexisheeps, @WhiteAngel25, @Days

The chandelier swayed and swayed.

Almost in time with the rush of boots enclosing the space.

As Stella's portal closed, and she ran off with the sceptre, the Louvre was flooded with the heavy boots of body armored, masked HiveMind agents, assault rifles raised and pointed at the guests in the crowd.

Tear gas canisters rolled across the ground in droves, spewing forth dangerous white smoke that would cause the eyes and throat to burn, and make every breath like scraping against glass.

"Get on the ground!"

“Everyone on your knees!” Shouted the agents, forcing guests down. Anyone resisting was shot with a taser. Security guards that approached the agents were immediately shot on sight with the rifles.

They weren't messing around today.

Sabrina, Thierry, Cosy, Auri, and Aaron would have little choice but to follow suit with the other guests starting to kneel. Or, they could resist and risk getting tazed.

Theo was given special HiveMind treatment. All aloof and alone on stage, he would only need to look up and see, morphing out of its invisibility camouflage, was none other than The Beast, the medusa-like robot that served directly under Von Galloes. The Beast snaked down from the ceiling, encircling Theo with its body, red eye staring down at the man.

“Theodore Noel de Villiers, you have been summoned by my master. Resist, and you will know true pain.”

The Beast, towering a good four feet over the man, held out a pair of handcuffs from one of its hair-like appendages.

“Put these on, and accept your destiny.”

Nick, meanwhile, received a different gift from HiveMind. All at once, his vision blacked out as the directives in his system started overloading his mind, making him more susceptible to mind control. As his vision returned, Nick would feel a specific flood in his mind, drowning out everything else. A directive. A new command, straight from Von Galloes.

“Put Thierry in an arm lock behind his back with his stomach on the floor.”

Concise and detailed, ensuring Nick couldn't use his creativity to worm his way out of the command.

JUSTICE FOR THE NON-DISCORD FOLK!!!!

Halloween Festival, Outside the Fight
Mentions: Aaron Aryin (@NoriWasHere). Direct Dialogue: George & Carol (@Punished GN)

She heard a crack.

Yep, she definitely heard a crack.

The ropes lost their life, and Aislin bounced off George, collapsing to the ground as she moaned, clutching her shoulder.

She wouldn't be surprised if she fractured her collar bone.

"... Did somebody try to tackle me? Or was it the wind?”
George

Aislin growled, trying to think past the pain. “Not. Funny.”

The ground shook, and Aislin looked up in time to see Aryin get yeeted into the sky.

“No!”

Aislin cursed a string of curses under her breath, chin perking up as she saw Carol approach. Aislin covered herself with her hands as best as possible, weakly warding off the pummels. The pain in her shoulder area was making it hard to think. Hard to move. The extra punches to her gut weren't helping, and Aislin, out of desperation, turned her attention downward.

The fractured ground became animated, turning quickly into quicksand. Aislin rolled back as the dirt and soil quickly gave way under Carol, sucking her into the earth. Aislin's eyes glanced to the ground under George, and the same thing happened. There was one key difference, though. While Carol's absorption into the ground would stop at her neck, George would continue to fall deeper and deeper into the soil, passed head level, at least six feet deep. Aislin wasn't intentionally trying to choke him out, but she was at a severe disadvantage. If she had to suffocate him unconscious first, so be it.

As the earth continued to pull in its victims, Aislin struggled to her feet, hand clutching her bad arm close to her body. Aryin wasn't here now, there was no reason to continue, except to ensure her own safety.

Aislin pursed her lips, taking a few hesitant steps back. She couldn't very well leave George to die underground either, though.

But she also had to consider their own abstractions. It was dangerous to linger any longer than she already had. She had suffered an injury already. Anymore and...

So she turned, cut off her connection with the earth, and ran through the tents, hopefully to get away.

Sounds great! I'll have a post up tomorrow, and then it'll be Lexi's turn!

Elys Adair

Oratorio - The Abyss
@ERode

She took a breath in.

Now she understood the allure of the Abyss. She, all of a sudden, wasn't in a rush to leave.

Another breath in, feeling the dampness against her skin, the grass under her soles, the faint breeze bringing the scent of flowers.

A deep part of her felt at peace.

So, when the goblinoids found her, it was only in calm eagerness that she met them. They wanted to fight, and she needed this.

A crew of about five goblins in total, raising their spears high, bloodlust dripping off them.

Elys only drew her sword, widened her stance, and waited for the prey to come closer. The largest of the massds started the charge as they surrounded her, lunging forward with his spear. She side-stepped, her sword coming down to slash the spear clean in half. An attack from the right and left. Elys spun on her heel, leaping onto the largest goblin to dodge the spears. Her staff cracked down in a sweep, knocking back the spears. She stepped off the goblin before it could try and shrug her off, embedding her sword in its neck and yanking hard. There was a snap as the blade cut and separated the neck, and the goblin collapsed.

There was an outcry from the goblins surrounding her, satisfying something deep within Elys’ heart. She could see the masses trying to find an opening, using her blind spots. But that was the thing - she had no blind spots. As a spear lunged towards her spinal column, her sword swung behind her, cutting the spear clean in half. Another slash as she spun towards them, and they sustained a deep gash through the chest and belly, causing them to fall.

The remaining masses were starting to hesitate, which she used to her advantage, impaling one while slashing at an another. They collapsed, leaving only one goblin. It was whimpering, turned tail and ran. Elys watched the mass shrink from her ‘view’, and sighed. She wiped her blade off on the grass, and sheathed it.

Her body hummed with adrenaline, feeling much more like itself. Yes. This was normal. This was her life, wasn't it? Killing monsters. This made sense. This was who she was, wasn't it?

But as she stood there, her heart beginning to settle, the answer left her heart hollow.

She was missing something.

But what? What on earth could she be missing? Did the vision she saw really change her so much, and leave her dissatisfied with her life?

Was she meant for something more now?

How did that look like?

What was she to do?

Elys sighed. She plopped down on one knee, looting the corpses she had felled. The small pouches were easy enough to find from running her fingers over the bodies, and she pocketed four. The spears were destroyed for the most part, and she was no good at extracting livers. So, she left the rest and stood.

She had proof of her effort.

But she was still unsatisfied. Why was she called here? Why did she feel so… comfortable here?

So, Elys turned heel, leaving the corpses behind as she ventured deeper into the Abyss as the darkness of the night enveloped her.

Stella's entrance was perfectly executed! I'd like to write a short porst on my own to add to Stella's entrance before Lexi posts, if that's alright?
