I've had the pleasure of watching a few scenes of death in film in my life but there is one that remains the most traumatic.
So as a child, my parents did a horrible job of hiding the more mature films they were watching from me. When I was young we were confined to an apartment that was a living room and a storage closet. A kitchen and a bathroom with a window that looked at a... wall. I had a room but a cracked door did little to hide the one tv.
Thanks to them, I learned that clowns like to live in the gutter and sometimes blood comes out of your sink. I learned that you can escape prison by digging a hole in your cell wall. I learned about a guy with a bunch of needles in his face who liked to play with a toy box. I learned about a guy with a hockey mask for a face who liked to play with knives. I learned Sigourney Weaver is a badass. I also learned that if a woman is beating on and yelling at a man who has his head under her skirt, he's not doing anything wrong.
I've seen some shit... but for whatever reason, Mellish dying in Saving Private Ryan is still difficult for me to watch to this day.
