Owning a pet and being the brave one in the room to keep them calm worked well enough to keep yourself calm. As being happy and calm is almost as infectious as fear.

Winter storm warning in April, plus power outtage, resorting to a gasoline-powered PC and internet connection. Sounds more metal than it is.

One of the stranger cold-war films I've seen was a movie about the start of WW3 directed as though it were a western, set in Alaska.

You'd be surprised by how much flavor and spice can go missing from a forum post if you remove all formatting.

Bio

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

Right, the french was a jab at my character's education/background towards their guide.

Most Vietnamese spoke more of a broken French-English-Viet combination that would make a french grammar-teacher start cussing like a sailor while foaming at the mouth.
-I speak pretty much nil to zilch french. Duetsch, on the other hand... yeee, no.

Also, are there any acceptable limits on how many Clint-Eastwoodisms I can make? Because a man's got to know his limitations.
A legally blonde Clem that smiles a lot at people, wears hair at a wierd angle.

I do have one of my parent's cat's ashes in my closet. Katherine, basically was my cat. Didn't like anyone in the family but me. She was more like a typical cat, but she meant a lot to me throughout my most of my childhood/adolescence. Family had her for 15-16 years. (I don't think I have many pictures of her myself though.)

Almost same, except a few tiny differences.
1. I had to put him down myself.
2. Buried him myself, too. (for awhile I had this irrational fear that I'd buried him alive)
3. Mostly black male /w 2 white spots, green eyes.
4. We never really gave him a name. He knew when we'd bring him food and would seek us out if he needed anything (depending on what he needed), and he'd drink milk and chase after cheese-curds like any good Wisconsin kitty.
5. I was pretty confident I could train him to make a beer-run (he died just a month short from being of legal age).

One of the few things on my phone that I regretted losing was the last (and presumably only) photo we took of him
-Ran into a photo I'd forgotten we'd taken a few years earlier while rummaging through the paint-cans in the basement.

Was kinda hesitant to get a 'replacement cat' afterwards. But "Gus" just kinda... happened. His original owner had died, and was caught by my brother rummaging the dorms around UW Madison. Was a scrawny 'lil cuddler that we nursed until he was a chubby cuddly bowling ball that'd tackle you at the door. (would NOT go outside, never again. Full Nope.)

... He died in my arms as I was taking him to the vet about 2 winters ago.
tl;dr tactical situation: (correct me if I'm wrong) Just in case it helps other get an idea of the lay and get a post out.

September 1st, 1961: Provincial capitol of Kantum (less than 55 miles from Saigon): Infiltrating from Laos.
-Historically, this sparked a month of panic and terror in the region as the large enemy force was never decisively engaged and defeated.

If Ghe had the time, he'd probably go over the plan a few more times with the team.

One. Lick slowly and roll the tootsie-pop on your tongue, you then cover a larger area with one movement of your tongue and, with a slower lick and faster roll, you can eventually lick through any thickness.

sometimes it takes three, though, because they ain't all pro.
