He shrugged, wings accenting the motion.
"Maybe, I dunno." As they approached the training yard, it was clear that the other harpies had set about making the place home. Most of the area had tents pitched about with a wide, open area in the center of it. "Here we are..."
Eve went out into the middle of the area as she ruffled her wings, preparing to take flight. She didn't have much in the way of weaponry, but she was able to hold her own in a fight against Syphax a fair while ago. While she readied herself for a bit of sparring, a few of the recruits gathered near eachother as gossip could be heard amongst them.
"Are those two going to fight?" "Maybe. Let's watch!"He moved to the center with her, wings spreading to their intimidating full size while he discarded his weapons. He had no intention of causing more than flesh wounds to Eve, didn't need someone dead already.
"On your call, General."The general begun to flutter off the ground slightly as she stared towards Syphax.
"If you insist." Within a split second, Eve rocketed next to Syphax and sent a kick soaring towards his chest, talons clenched in a tight hold.
Wasting no time, the male sidestepped the attack and jumped into the air, large wings propelling him with very little effort and allowing him to follow up on Eve's attack with a simple punch.
As soon as Syphax lept into the air, Eve shot up out of her speed and connected her body to Syphax's gut, sending the two soaring up into the air even higher.
"I rule the air, you dummy!""Is that a challenge!?" A broad grin on his face, and essentially stuck on her shoulder, Syphax did the logical thing and grabbed her wing-arms, forcing them closed with his superior strength before pumping his and angling the pair towards the ground.
"No, it's a fact!" cried the female harpy as she ignited her wings, burning Syphax's hands as she struggled to break free from his grasp. If anything, she was putting up a good fight.
He dealt with the burning sensation, something he had gotten somewhat used to already from several past experiences, and angled the two almost perpendicular to the ground. He toyed with her only slightly by giving her a light kiss before they closed very close to the ground, where he let go of her and pulled up, hoping to slam her into the ground.
As soon as Syphax let go of her, the harpy general knew exactly what to do as she followed behind him, colliding with him once more before grabbing ahold of his wings with her talons.
"You can't slam me into the ground... a-and even if you did it wouldn't hurt!" Her wings were extinguished by this point, which she didn't really mind.
The two tumbled to the ground, rolling for a little bit before coming to a stop.
"I could've gone lower if you wanted me to." He smirked only slightly as he hopped to his feet, Eve still clinging to his back.
Eve climbed off Syphax's back as she gave him a peck on the cheek, then she walked a few yards away and turned back to face him.
"You'll need to do more than that to keep me down!""Well it's been awhile since I've had to pin someone, you've got that going for you." He turned and started a run for the female, lowering his hands and leaning forward.
"But I'm just a little bird! You can't pin a little bird?" Eve leaped into the air in a fluent motion as she said this, simply fluttering in place as she watched Syphax closely, like an owl diligently inspecting his prey.
"No wonder you lost to Ira!"A few of the harpy recruits made various sounds, noting the hit to Syphax's manliness.
Out of nowhere, a forearm was smashed into Eve's face to floor her, and Syphax had her leg trapped between his arm and his neck, pulling it up towards her face.
"Except I just did." He smirked and stressed the leg.
With blood now trickling out of her nose, Eve's body rotated onto its side in order for Eve to get her other foot on the ground, and with one swift motion, she brought Syphax back into the air with her, although she was struggling to keep Syphax on her as she flew... especially in the position she was in.
He let go and started flying after her, talons looking particularly sharp as he kept pace with considerable effort.
"Get back her so I can take you down!"A devious smirk washed over Eve's face as she picked up the pace, flying even higher as the blood began to fall back into her throat due to the position she was ascending in.
"Okay!" Eve quickly took a U-Turn as she plummeted down, colliding with Syphax on her way and sending the two of them down to the ground at alarming speeds, Eve's legs were locked around Syphax's body as they plummeted to the ground, her eyes closed as she prepared to embrace the dusty ground.
Syphax could've broken out of his lover's legs, except they were heading for the ground a little too quickly. He rolled his eyes and forced her into his chest, arms protectively covering her head while they made contact with the ground. Rather, his back did, leaving the female mostly unscathed.
As the dust cleared, Syphax would be rather bloody in a small crater, though very much alive.
"...Are you always that suicidal? We might need to have a talk."Eve felt a little guilt as she rolled off Syphax's chest, landing in the crater beside him.
"No... maybe even moreso..." She was flying a lot faster when she rammed Henrietta at KC-00032.
He sighed.
"Help me out, I'm stuck." He tried to squirm a bit, though found that his wings had broken and gotten him lodged at a weird angle. He held his right arm out for her to grab.
Annoyed, but compliant, Eve grabbed a hold of Syphax's arm with her talon as she shot back up into the air, pulling Syphax out of the dirt. However, she didn't drop him onto the ground, rather she descended carefully until her lover's feet touched the ground, then she dropped the rest of the way, landing in the crater.
"... I taste a lot of blood.""Yeah, sorry, kinda broke your nose." He started to walk back towards his quarters, motioning for Eve to follow.
"That was a good fight though."Eve pulled herself up from the ground as she retrieved Syphax's weapons, since he left those behind. She carried them diligently behind him in her wings, still a bit afraid if he was angry at her for fighting how she did. Despite it, she still confidently spoke up.
"... I won.""Damn right you did." Syphax smiled slightly as they walked, wings limb behind him as the pain had yet to make an impact.
"Though, don't throw youself into suicidal positions so quickly, alright?""How else do I fight, then?" the female harpy asked genuinely. She hated using swords and other weapons, but she did use them when she had to. Only at those times, though. Blood began to track through the halls of Celestia while the two walked, no doubt mixed with some mucus and such.
"Carefully, do what you normally do, but not if you know it'll put you in a position you know you'll die in.""I try to be careful before I go in for a hit, but it's just that I go super fast and it... it hurts. I don't know what to do..." Eve looked down at the ground as they made it back to Syphax's quarters, putting down the weapons on his bed.
Moving to the shelves again, Syphax took a couple of bottles and tossed one to Eve, tossing one to her and chugging one himself. He grimaced slightly as the bitter liquid slid down his throat.
"You'll be fine, just don't be stupid."Eve coughed up a slight bit of blood before she downed the entire bottle of magical healing elixir, wiping the blood and medicine from her mouth afterwards.
"You trust me to not be stupid?""More than I would most." He answered, groaning quietly as his wings popped back into place.
"... thanks." Eve stripped out of her armor while her nose kept leaking blood. It was fixing itself back into place, but it still bled like a motherfucker until then. Ah, she'd have to deal with it. Once she was out of her armor, she ran over and hugged him apologetically.
"Sorry I broke your wings..."He wrapped his arms around her, head resting on top of hers.
"It's alright, it wasn't a serious fight at least." He kissed the top of her head and lightly rocked her as she stood, shifting his weight between feet every couple of seconds.
As the two rocked, Eve turned her ear to Syphax's chest. This would serve for two purposes, allowing her to hear the pace that Syphax's heart was beating (which was alarmingly fast), and to not get a copious amount of noseblood on his shirt. While they rocked, Eve began to hum a
soft tune, her mind trailing off while she hummed it.
