If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

@Gunther do you want the sappers under Traviks control?

It would make sense to place them under his operational control. Eventually, I'd create some Engineer NPCs as the story roles along.

Character Name: Victor Tavik
Age: 36
Species: Alderaanian
Gender: Male
Appearance: Victor stands 6'2" tall and is very slim weighing only 180 Lbs. He has sunken in hollowed cheeks and a pale complexion. His fair skin contrasts with his receding jet black hair. He wears his hair short and is often seen walking around with his hands clasped behind his back. His posture is typically rigid and appears as though he may have a sharp stick permanently inserted in his anus. His pointed narrow nose gives him a birdlike appearance and his thin almost gray lips rarely smile. He intimidates many younger soldiers with his relatively dour appearance. He always appears serious and is a thinker. He remains reticent and cerebral most of the time. He gives his opinion when he feels it is necessary. Details regarding his company are very much his opinion.

Rank: Commandant or Major
Role: Infantry Company Commander
Unit: 332nd Mobile Assault Infantry Company
Skills:
    - Small unit tactics, patrolling and leadership
    - Small arms training
    - Hand to hand combat
    - Air assault operations (LAAT)
    - Hull breaching operations
    - Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT)
    - Ship clearing techniques
    - Brigade & Division Level Operations
    - Logistical Support to the Division, Brigade, Regiment & Battalion
    - Civil Engineering
    - Demolitions

Weaknesses:
    - Obsessive/Compulsive. Victor Tavik demands everything be placed in its proper place and ever item has a place. If an item is out of place, he is compelled, uncontrollably to put it back. If he cannot replace the item himself, he will instruct a subordinate to do it for him.
    - Proud. Major Tavik is very proud of his accomplishments. His “Love Me” wall in his office is heavily decorated, displaying every major accomplishment in his life. Due to his zealous pride, he finds that his position in society is such that he is above performing menial labor. He is an entitled, self-righteous pompous ass.
    - Perfectionist. Everything must be done to perfection. Any task his subordinates perform must be completed flawlessly. He can become irate if someone make a mistake. He expects corrections to take place immediate. He sets a high standard for all to live up to, yet he often falls blindly short of his own standards.
    - Idealist. The Rebellion is paramount to his goals. He obsesses over fighing against the Galactic Empire and will not wave on his conviction for ensuring the Rebellion succeeds. Although this driven idealist mentality may appear at first glance as a positive trait, it creates a certain rigidity in his demeanor that leaves little room for flexibility.

Equipment:
    - four sets of the Alderaan infantry uniform consisting of blue shirt, grey trousers, and black calf length boots.
    - black leather combat vest.
    - white helmet with black visor above the forehead.
    - DH-17 Blaster Pistol
    - A280 Blaster Rifle
    - Bayonet
    - Communicator
    - Datapad /w interface tools.
    - Map pouch for carrying tools
    - Day Pack for extended operations.

History: Victor Tavik was born to a minor noble family on Aleraan in 36BBY. He had a pampered life and received an excellent education. He is what you might call someone who feels he is entitled to the best the universe has to offer.

During the Clone Wars, Victor Tavik was a teenager and otherwise unaffected by the war raging off world. He followed closely to the news they received on Alderaan and was taken in by the Alderaan position. He has great respect for the founders of the Rebellion, Bail Organa, Mothma and Bel Iblis. He has framed photographs of all three including a few with him in the frames also on his “Love Me” wall in his office.

When he completed his education at the Alderaan Military Academy, he received an undergraduate degree in Engineering and served as a Combat Engineer officer. He is trained as a Sapper, understanding the load of various structures as well as how to use both prepared and field expedient explosives.

He spent the first five years of his career in an Engineer Battalion in the Alderaanian Army. His unit constructed airfields and other buildings to house units. His unit built any structure the Army needed.

Upon promotion to Captain, he was assigned as Company Commander of a Sapper Company in a sister battalion. He served in his capacity for three years. At the end of his command tour, he branch transferred to infantry and received training in larger operations beyond a battalion formation. This was a requirement for field grade officers. He spent several years working as either Battalion or Brigade staff and even a three year tour as a Special Staff officer on a division staff before being assigned to The Keep and receiving his first Infantry Company Command.

He has been with the 332nd for the past three months and the officers and men of the unit are still getting to know him. Several believe he is overly arrogant and nitpicks too much.

During operations on Anaxes, Commandant Tavik remained aboard one of the LAATs that survived the operation. He believed it was better to direct the operation from above rather than on the ground with the troops. Some of hte veterans of that failed operation resent him for this command decision.

Anyone RPing in the Infantry Company, we are swapping out the T-21 Light Repeating Blaster for a heavier squad machine gun that puts out more firepower. Turn in your LMGs for these big pigs: DLT-19 Heavy Blaster Rifle. Call them Light Machine Guns (LMGs) or Automatic Rifles (AR). I don't care. We called them ARs in the 1980s and then when the SAWs were issued in the 1990s, we called them SAWs. Meanwhile, our European counterparts referred to the same gun as the LMG.

Any takers for a 34-man Sapper platoon?

@Sep
@Sep I used 34 Sapper slots for this. Can we move those other 6 to the Infantry? I think we may have gone over the 100 total by four anyway.

Sapper duties
Sappers or Combat Engineers are light infantrymen who know how to blow shit up. When they aren’t performing Engineer specific tasks, they fight in the same manner as Infantrymen. Engineer specific tasks may include breaching obstacles, identifying mines, constructing obstacles (including minefields), analyzing structural integrity and identifying how to destroy pre-established structures. They are trained in demolitions as well as more common civil engineering skills.

In The above organization, the Support Team provides overwatch/covering fires while the demo team conducts their operation.
@Gunther I should point out you are now a Co-GM.

Also all that looks good, let me know when it's done with the Sappers and whatnot and I'll put it on the OP. Are you planning to put the Armour in that or keep it separate?

I'm taking my laptop to the kid's karate class this afternoon. I can throw the Sappers together quickly, but I planned on working on Commandant Tavik this afternoon.
...Covert recon, functioning as fire observers, sabotage/demolition, making hot landings and grabbing people and other jobs that are beyond the scope of conventional infantry are covered...

This role is how I interpreted their purpose as well. These tasks can be taken from SAS, SEALs, Rangers or LRSD.

When I think of Shock Troops, as suggested to @POOHEAD189 I think more of the role of US Marines or Royal Marines. They are the breaching element attacking ahead of the rest of the unit. These Mandalorians are wearing a heavy armor unlike their Rebel Alliance counterparts in the other two platoons.

Weapons
The A280 Blaster Rifle (BR) is the primary rifle for the platoon. Each Section has one T-21 Light Repeating Blaster that serves as the squad light machine gun (LMG) and two Merr Sonn GL-11 Grenade Launchers (GL). The Platoon is also authorized three anti-Tank gunners (AT) who use the PLEX Rocket Launchers. The sniper section uses E-17D sniper rifles.

Personnel Strength, Authorized
The Company is authorized eight 10-man sections, three 6-man Assault Sections, two 3-man AT sections, three 2-man platoon headquarters, one 6-man sniper section and one 6-man company headquarters section for a total compliment of 122 soldiers. Currently, only the First Platoon has shortages

Racial Mix
The original company was 100% Alderaanian Humans. Over the past 19 years, other races have been integrated into the unit.

As a side note, I am considering coming up with an organization for the 40 Sappers. I haven't put any work into it yet, but I have started working on a CS for Commandant Tavik.
I have an idea. Let's say, we include a small platoon of Mandalorians as shock troops. This way CaptainBritton can retain his 45 soldiers and I can reserve 12 for the Company HQs as well as the 26 I've spoken for, for Captain Karada's platoon.

Company Headquarters - Major Tavik - 6 men
Sniper Section - Senior Sergeant Bobec Felidron - 6 men
First Platoon - Captain Karada - 26 men
Third Platoon (or Second?) - Lieutenant Trad - 45 men
Second Platoon (or Third?) - Lieutenant Soda - 16 men

If CaptainBritton can go with fewer soldiers on hand, it would leave more available to Soda's platoon.
And Poohead, I have never met a Captain who was a Squad Leader. I have met Captains who were Company Commanders, Platoon Leaders and Staff Officers. I have even heard of Captains commanding Battalions because everyone at Battalion staff and command level was dead, but never leading a squad. That is an NCO's job. A squad leader could be a Corporal or a Sergeant, but never a Captain or a Lieutenant.

@POOHEAD189@CaptainBritton

Unless of course, your Mandalorian is a Fighter Pilot? which totally disagrees with the rest of your CS.
@POOHEAD189 Your character appears to be an infantryman, yet you mentioned he was in First Squadron. That is confusing to me. If he is an Infantryman, which platoon is he in? My Captain Mosh Karada has 1st Platoon with 26 soldiers, CaptainBritton's Lieutenant Ibus Trad has the 3rd Platoon with (46) soldiers, and I would like to reserve 12 soldiers for the Company Headquarters, which leaves 16 dudes for the Second Platoon. I have asked CaptainBritton to accept smaller numbers. Maybe his Lieutenant is brand new to the unit, but his platoon was involved with the recent action on Anaxes? That would be appropriate. I have not heard back from him yet.

You can always jump in with any one of the three platoons with a squad of infantry. All I ask is that you use the organizations we have already created. Thank you, sir and Welcome aboard.
Lauder, I weep with happiness. Trooper Neban is great!

The fact, he was not present with the unit on Anaxes will set him apart from the others. The survivors are depressed, morose and mourning the loss of their brothers and sisters. Halliq will be viewed as an outsider, maybe even initially outcast, even though his platoon mates really need/want him and more like him. There may be a difference of opinion among the members. Some are happy to see him and some are not.

When the Platoon Sergeant speaks to him, he should learn his skills, I quoted from your CS below. Halliq would become his Section's Designated Marksman. Also, when it comes to assaults, the squad would split into two teams, the Support Team consisting of Corporal Dalmuth, Trooper Ortez and Trooper Soltana; and the Assault Team consisting of Sergeant Paltoy, Trooper Valante and Trooper Neban. Your guy gets to charge into the thick of the enemy and kill Imperials; put that Vibrosword to good use.

Character Name:
Halliq Neban

Unit:
Second Section, Karada's First Platoon

Skills:
  • Great Tactician
  • Phenomenal Sharpshooter
  • Trained Swordfighter
  • Good Tracker
  • Knowledgeable on trapping and ambushing
  • Can speak basic and is fluent in Kaleesh

Halliq had been deployed from cell to cell, never really seeing any combat until, luckily, he found himself upon The Keep where he was added in the Kanada’s First Platoon as a replacement for the many losses within the Platoon. He has not been available for the raid at Anaxes due to him being processed into the platoon and his new squad.

Supporting Cast:
The Second Section, First Platoon

Sergeant Jyneth Paltoy (F) – 2nd Section Leader, BR
Corporal Aberforth Dalmuth – Asst. Section Leader, 2nd Section, BR
Trooper Guillermo Soltana –2nd Section, LMGunner
Trooper Syani Ortez (F) – 2nd Section, Grenadier
Trooper Marc Valante – 2nd Section, BR
Trooper Halliq Neban -2nd Section, BR

The letter "F" indicates the Females of the group.
