Current No point posting your writing online if you don't care about praise.

Is the rioting and BLM brought up yet?

Honestly, I don't get the grief given to SAO when there's stuff like Mushoku Tensei where the MC actively lusts for underaged girls. And it's the most popular isekai in Japan.

Also, it's kinda annoying going back and forth writing short replies since I got other stuff to do and that just interrupts my rythm.

Yeah, I thought her class is only for architects who need better understanding of the materials they manipulate.

So, can I expect Freyja to teach Chemistry (or just Science in general) or is it not really mandatory for every channeller?

"Haa...haa...haa...haa..."

Marianne was panting. She panted like she never did before in her entire life.

She had snapped out of her adrenaline-fueled fight-or-die mind. She now realized with every inch of her body just how close she was to a certain death back there.

Her entire body shook. She could feel sweat drenching her dress in its entirety. She was thankful that it was just sweat, as it wouldn't surprise her if she had soiled her knickers as well.

She grabbed her chest, trying to calm down her furiously beating heart to no avail.

The dread she felt right now was incomparable to anything she had ever experienced before. The scene where the rat assasin almost stabbed her with his blade replayed on her mind over and over again.

"So this is what Father meant back then..."

"Listen, Marianne, if you have chosen the path of an adventurer, know that one day you will find yourself on that dividing line between life and death. It will be really frightening, no doubt about that. But if you can overcome that dread, then you can be called a real adventurer, someone who has wrestled with Death and comes back alive. Your father here had ended up in so many of such situations that he lost count of them. But with every dire situation you overcome, the more mature you will become as a fighter, and as a person."

"It's alright if you decide to give up. But I have faith that my daughter will be stronger than that. She will truly become a true adventurer, just like her father."

"This is... true dread... I have stood in the border between life and death..."

"And now... I shall overcome it... I shall overcome this feeling and grow stronger from it...!"

Marianne hugged her own body, trying to calm her shivers. She focused on the fact that she had triumphed, and the rat had been defeated. She was the victor, thus there would be no reason for her to be scared like this.

After what seemed to be an eternity to her, she finally calmed down. She thanked her father for his advice before surveying the situation below her.

The fight had returned to their favor it seemed, with a lot of the stormvermin having being obliterated and the rest of the rats squealing for a retreat. Their reinforcements were cut off and their leader was nowhere to be found. However, the king of the dwarves were in a dire state also, as he was losing blood rapidly thanks to his wounds.

And then, she heard it. A sinister sound of a bell ringing from the halls down below. It sent a familiar chill down to her spine.

The Shaman! The Shaman was still alive!

"Finish the rats, quickly! We must find the Shaman from the bridge."

Siph had the same idea as hers. The bell was really the work of the Shaman. Who knew what foul magic he would conduct to turn the tide back to their side once more?

They had to finish off the rats here first before going after the creature.

Marianne ordered her mantis to put her down, which it immediately obeyed. Then, with a loud voice, she shouted, "Mantis! Kill all the remaining rats as quickly as you can! Show them no mercy!" This, it also obeyed, as it used its legs to walk towards the remaining rat forces. It would have leaped towards them if not for the ceiling hindering his movement.

Of course, Marianne didn't have to shout to order the insect. But she did so to bolster her own courage, to display her dominance over the rats that had humiliated her. She would not fall afraid to them. Her father once said that an adventurer who's afraid of her enemy already lost to it before the battle even began.
Freyja Leden

Hearing Ryuuto's analysis about the redhead, Freyja sighed and smiled at the same time. It was just like him to say that, she thought. She couldn't really change that part of his personality, even if she wanted to, which she didn't, considering she was already proud of how he was right now.

She believed he needed more tact though. She couldn't see him getting a girlfriend at this rate.

"Good. Then make sure you come right away after the opening ceremony ends. And don't worry. We're not behind schedule at all. We should begin soon," she reassured the wounded boy. "Oh, and I believe we haven't been acquianted yet. My name is Freyja Leden, and you can call me Miss Leden just fine. What about yours?"

"Ah, and hello to you too, Yuki." She switched her gaze to the young teacher, bowing back a little. "I am perfectly fine, as you can see," she replied with a little smile on her lisp. "I am certainly interested in the new students as some of them I will mentor for sure. I just hope that Ryuuto can get along with whoever they are."

"How about you? Have any students that pique your interest?" she asked him.

Yeah, I think we should move on. The introductions seem to be in order already.
@tipssyCalibrator
Yeah, when does the opening ceremony start? As a teacher, Freyja must know this beforehand.

Wow, Rex already got a nosebleed just by seeing beautiful women. He'll probably faint if he accidentally looks up Metel's skirt.
Metel sighed. She had to agree with the centaur's argument.

"You have a point," she replied, crossing her arms beneath her breasts. "Then perhaps you should be the one in charge. You seem calmer than this lady-in-black here--she gestured towards Aimee--and you have the presence to be our temporary improptu leader. I will gladly vouch for you to keep these people in line."

She looked back at the lady-in-black. Judging from her expression, she guessed she wouldn't be happy about the centaur being in charge. This could prove to be a problem, she thought. She seemed to be the kind of person who loved to settle things without talking or negotiating.

"Listen," she said to both of them, "I don't really care who does it, since I only wish I could wait in line in peace. I am only here because of one of the rewards posted, the rare plant I need for my potions. Usually, I won't participate in something like this so standing here like a tree for gods know how long already irritates me. And now, with all this rowdiness going on, I am even more irked. I am starting to be tempted to use a couple of my sleep potions--she gestured at the tiny vials hanging from her belt--on the offending parties. So if you're going to fight, I'm afraid I'll have to waste them on you two. And I hate that. It's not a simple matter to make them, you know."
Lilac de Blanc

"Hmph, I doubt that," Lilac replied. She could never imagine herself being attracted to something that required a lot of physical strength to work. She was a firm believer of brains over brawns. Not to mention her delicateness and her status as a lady. Hard labor was simply not for her.

What would she do after she mastered her magic? To be honest, she didn't really know either. Her magic type was healing magic. Did that mean she had to become a healer? She couldn't imagine herself working in a hospital or wandering around healing those in need. It simply didn't fit her image for herself.

It seemed Marth hadn't even discovered his own ability. So in that respect, she was ahead of him.

After saying his piece, Marth left her side of the room, going back to behind the sliding door. After he was gone, Lilac threw herself on her bed, hugging the pillow placed there. Her feelings were now all confused, thanks to Marth's question and the impending doom of attending the monster hunting classes. She remembered how the latter's teacher was a stern one, making her not looking forward to the class even more.

Hmph, no use worrying about it. I'll just have to tackle it as it comes.

She disliked that approach however. She wanted her life to be structured and ordered, with no uncertainty and surprises.

As Metel stood waiting, she noticed a centaur woman arriving to the scene. She immediately caught the eyes of nearly everyone present as centaurs were a pretty rare sight. Not to mention her size made her impression massive as well.

She was certainly one of those people. She had never seen a centaur before as well. She'd only heard about them in books and bard tales. To be meeting one like this never crossed her mind at all.

...Well, today she already met a half-dragon man as well. That's another rare one for sure. Maybe she would even meet a lich today, with the way her luck was going.

...On second though, scratch that. Liches were never good news.

She looked back at the centaur and then saw an orc leaning against her body; a mug of ale in his hand. She wondered how she could stand him. If it were her standing there, she would have left immediately. She couldn't stand drunk people like him, much less one who got too close to her personal space.

"Enough!"

A loud voice suddenly roared across the room, making everyone turn silent and look at the source of the voice. It was a girl wearing all-black, with her face looking quite stern and angry. She quickly ordered for the two wet people to get dry, before threatening to punish anyone who made another ruckus like before.

Finally, someone taking charge, she thought. Maybe she could get a little peace and quiet around here.

However, the centaur woman didn't take kindly to her tone, as she trotted forward to her and pretty much intimidated her back with her superior height. There were truth to her words however, as being that aggressive could earn you the ire of some people. But still...

"Well, I believe someone should take charge around here," she said as she approached the two, interrupted their conversation. "I prefer to wait in peace over a bunch of rascals making a scene." She looked upwards to the centaur. She certainly had quite the impressive presence.
