And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

Welcome back to the guild @kiya!
Ah, our venerable guild. Ten years already? Look at you grow!

I cannot say I would have been here since the very start, since if I did that would be lying, but I distinctively remember the time an internet acquaintance of mine recommended our group would migrate from our current place to over here. I wondered what the change would bring and if it would be any good, but after I had spent mere three days around these parts, I couldn't help but wonder how I had managed with the old place at all.

Now I won't talk much about those times since, to be fair, those memories would serve no purpose here. Instead, I will talk of something that was a great disaster to many of us: The Guildfall. Back in that December, a little over three and a half years ago, the guild suddenly collapsed. No connection could be established, our RP buddies disappeared to the wide web where we had no tools of finding them and many RPs simply vanished. And let me tell you, that is something not just any site could come back from.

But we did, and we did it well!

Post Guildfall, in the January when the site now built from the ground up by our glorious undulating face overlord @Mahz, we returned in numbers. We roamed back to the new location, looking around, finding old pals where we could and setting those games we had loved up again if we at all could. Learning what had happened, doing our best to not let it happen again (although that was mostly out of our hands), and the most RPer-like thing that could at all be done: We did RPs out of the guildfall! :D

And to top my memories off, we come to the final point I can proudly claim: I've been here since the new beginning!
Welcome to the guild @VidyaParamia!

When you mentioned the amount of roleplayers that simply could not provide adequate replies, you reminded me of my roots. Never again, if I can avoid it. This site was introduced to me by a friend who was facing the same problem and here I remain! As @Ellri has recommended, the lenghtier posts are usually found around the Advanced section, but if you happen to have any interest in Tabletop Role Playing Games, the Tabletop section also offers many roleplays with longer posts. All in all, I am fairly certain you can find partners fitting your taste here!

'ello! Welcome to the guild and stuff @Jedrockin3!
Grug was sorting the back shelf of his store and home as he could feel the wagon shifting slightly. Somebody had decided to visit him! He returned to the job hastily, trying his best to get everything on display quickly, rather than in the most pleasing manner. He eventually failed as one more necklace hung in his fingers as the door opened and sunlight poured in, but he played it off by placing it onto the table in the middle of the room. "Welcome to my humble abode! Now, if you only would close the door behind yourselves, I've quite poor eyesight in brighter conditions. As you likely know, have yet to meet one that didn't, I am Grug, the Oracle of..." he began his usual spiel, but as the door was closed and he saw the people before him, his voice suddenly lost much of its weight. "...Gruumsian...", he managed to mutter.

He leaned onto his staff and tried to move closer, but was a bit too hasty and almost fell down. With that incident sorted, he chose to remain in place and instead asked the three to move closer to him. "Would you come a bit closer so I can see you better? You look an awful lot like..." He looked over each of them individually, giving each of them five or more seconds to make sure his mind was not playing tricks on him before he began, now in a much more controlled velocity, making his way behind the table.

"Yes, there is no mistaking it...", he muttered as he sat down and brought his healthy hand near his crystal, staring into it as he did a few motions with his hand. He soon ceased that and placed his hand against the table, now giving his attention back to the three. "You", he began, pointing at the man, "in my visions they call you Fionn. You", he turned to face Elise, "would be Elise. And that leaves you to be... what was the name now... it was a colour I'm sure... Ah, Scarlett!" he finally finished, having finished introducing the people he had only seen in his visions until now.

"You are on your way North, are you not?" he asked to know for sure. While in the vast majority of the futures he saw before him, these people were present at the site, with some bad luck this reality might well need convincing. "A great darkness looms over the future. A darkness that will have to be fought. And you, I, and many more have appeared in my visions, facing against a group of people wanting to raise an ancient might at the ruins I believe to be your destination!"

The Oracle tried to read the faces of the people that had sought him out. Would they believe him? Would they ridicule him? Would they even consider bringing him along? Right now, he couldn't tell. Perhaps it was due to all of the words he just threw at them with little chance to reply in between.

For the record, Mistletoe can very faintly see a misty humanoid shape hanging from the left shackle, but shouldn't be able to outright tell it is Derrick. For himself, Derrick's soul is completely opaque, just shining blue.
Kenza ran away from the building, not wanting to look back. And who could blame her? The forest welcomed her among the trees and in the fading light she made her way onward. Eventually she would be lucky enough to find a path and could follow it back to civilisation. It had been a close call and it might well have left her with scars that would never heal... but at least she had made it out with her life. While some of the questions that she had thought of had never received an answer, the saying 'curiosity killed the cat' did not exist for nothing.

Behind the one that ran away, Mistletoe had chosen to be the exact opposite of Kenza. She thought saving her friends was the important thing here and now and abandoning her earlier plans of running, took hold of the curtain that had covered the window and ripped it away. Holding it in her hands, she rushed back to the hallway with the intention of reaching the library in her mind. Little did she know, the combat between the two that had remained behind would be over by the time she could reasonably reach them...

As Derrick rushed at the Jailor, he could notice what the creature had been aiming for: It had swung the broken shackle at the cord behind him. The soul rushed at the flaming creature, even colliding with it and drawing a pained gasp from it, but this did not save the cord from the assault! The shackle hit and the chain that was hanging off of it wrapped around the silver. With one beat of its wings and another pained gasp, the Jailor took off into the air. The shackle pulled away at the cord... and cut it. Now only attached to the Jailor's chain, Derrick could feel his soul flying in the air, but the feeling was muffled by the sharp pain from the breaking of the cord. "To the narrow maze with you!" the creature bellowed, just as the third hunter arrived to the door...

Judging by the fact Wick wasn't shouting anything from the back, no more shadows were to appear from behind them. Coupled with the fact of the spellcaster focusing on combating the enemy with them instead of running further, it appeared these were the only ones currently in the town just as well. How they had made it in here was beyond Theodore's knowledge, but if they were the only ones here it would only make sense for them to be evicted as soon as possible. Maybe then they could ask the presumably local fellow where they were.

But as much as he would have preferred his efforts to succeed like Cesar's, he could not count himself among those fortunate. As he was about to load a bolt to his weapon, he accidentally pulled the trigger and made a blank shot. "Da...", he swallowed his words, biting his tongue to stop himself from cursing and began loading the weapon anew. A wasted opportunity, and in the career of a crusader, mistakes were all too often paid for in blood. Luckily enough they were getting the situation more and more under control with each passing moment, so there was no reason to panic yet.
