Aftershock, with Wade Palmer

“This month has been insane. There’s no other way for me to put it, hell, I don’t even have any interviews planned tonight because I’ve got so much to cover! Let’s start at the beginning. Just last month, at AWE Judgment Day, after wrestling his heart out against Caiden Winters in the main event, AWE World Champion Drayden had to be helped to the back. It was soon diagnosed as a rather serious injury, which is going to lead to him having almost nine months on the shelf.” Roddy Quinn’s golden boy finally cracked from the weight of having to carry this company for the past eight years. Of course, he’d been champion at the time; it’d been a rare occurrence for him to not be wearing the belt, and this was no different. Unfortunately, it happened and he was out for now. So, the new writing team who were only recently given the keys to the kingdom, were left without a mega babyface to pass the torch to… anyone.

Kevin Harrison, JP Carling, and Gary Palmer were thrown into the fire then and there. Roddy Quinn came into one meeting, looked Kevin in the eyes and said quite simply: ‘Fix this.’ So, Kevin had done his best. He’d had a plan that ended with Caiden Winters having the title, but it wasn’t time yet. Not then. Too soon.

The lads scrambled and worked their asses off for almost two days straight, fueled by Red Bull, pizza, and the fact that their jobs probably relied on how good of a booking job they did in this instance. Their solution? A tournament. It wasn’t perfect! But, it would work. It would handle the transfer of the title belt to someone else. And that tournament is coming to a head at Sin City Showdown, the upcoming monthly PPV put on by AWE, taking place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kevin and his boys would rebuild the company by the light of a neon moon, dammit.

Chaos Clayton and Gethin Rhys are going to war this Sunday for the honor of being the next AWE Champion, for the chance to truly step into the spotlight. For the chance to dethrone Drayden as the undisputed king and face of the company. They’ve spilled blood, sweat, and tears alike to get to this point. The entire roster fought hard for their shot, and some of them… some of them got screwed.”

The man on the screen paused for a moment, as if everyone should know who he was talking about, but it was his job to reiterate points over and over and drill them into the audience’s head like an annoying bumblebee. “Of course, I’m talking about Caiden Winters. He took Drayden to one of the closest title defenses he’s seen, and he felt that he should have been handed the belt after it got vacated, rather than have to participate in a tournament for it. And then? He was screwed out in the first round. Beaten because of someone who cheated. He took it personally.”

Because who wouldn’t? Caiden Winters wrestled his heart out and put everything he had into his match. The crowd loved him, the crowd wanted him to win and honestly? He all but had the win locked in before he was hit with a lowblow and the tights were grabbed for the win. For all Wade and the fans knew, Caiden should very well be in the main event. But Caiden Winters had overdone it, blaming the official and brutally assaulting the offending referee.

“Perhaps too personally. He almost killed the referee after the match, which even I know was uncalled for — and I’ll be the first one to tell you: I’m a huge Caiden Winters fan. He got suspended, which was a fair call. Let’s face it: you put your hands on an official, and you deserve to be punished. It’s that simple. But, Caiden took that personally too, maybe he thinks Roddy Quinn is out to get him.” Wade shrugged his shoulders hopelessly. It was well known that he’d recruited Caiden Winters for the AWE. Maybe he blamed himself for what happened next.

“Winters attacked a defenseless Roddy backstage, and left the boss bloody on the floor. Then, he went to the ring and was very clear about the reality of the situation: Caiden Winters hates Roddy Quinn, and that hate is driven by a feeling of being overlooked, underutilized, and ignored, all while being one of the best in this business.”

“Roddy Quinn has never been one to take, well, anything lying down. This wasn’t an exception. The next week, Roddy laid out a challenge. Roddy Quinn would step into the ring against Caiden Winters in a No Holds Barred match. The week after that? Caiden and Roddy signed a contract. It’s official, and it’s happening this Sunday, at Sin City Showdown. Be sure to catch the finals of the World Championship tournament, and to see if Roddy Quinn has bit off more than he can chew, and so much more as we come to you live, on PPV.”

Wade smiled at the camera, and the show came to a close.

The backstage vibes are good. The tournament was well received, and people are feeling good about the future of the company. In the eyes of the board, the executives, and Roddy himself though? The new booking team is still untested, and it remains to be seen if they can smash it out of the park in a PPV.

Sin City Showdown is their first time to say ‘we got this,’ and keep Roddy from getting involved in the creative process again. All the talent is pumped and ready to show their stuff, and Kevin Harrison and his boys are confident that the blowoff match to the tournament is going to go well, and the overarching storyline of Caiden Winters vs the World is going to progress expertly in the match of Caiden vs Roddy. Plus, it keeps Roddy away from the production truck so the professionals can handle things and showcase what Kevin thinks need to be seen.

Give it two years, and Kevin Harrison is gonna run this joint.

So, yeah. It’s a wrestling RP. I and the other GMs, you know the squadron, will be playing the booking/writing team, though you and your characters are more than welcome to suggest things. Now, I’m sure there’s a question of ‘who do I play?’

The answer to that is the SUP Productions standard: Whatever the fuck you want.

You can play a cameraman, you can play a member of the production team. You can play a wrestler, a member of the tournament. You can play a tag team, or work with another writer to do so. You can play women wrestlers. You can play a mouthpiece, someone who helps superstars who haven’t hit their stride as a talker quite yet. Not every wrestler is perfect, not everyone has the charisma, the athletic skill, and the ring psychology.

You don’t have to be perfect; your character can be a jobber, someone who goes out and loses almost every night to help up and comers look strong. Everyone serves a purpose; there’s a lot of freedom here. Once your characters are accepted and we’ve looked over them, we’ll decide who’s going to win the tournament, and the brackets.

Likely, how we’ll handle matches by having the two wrestlers report to people backstage who will give them a time slot and what they want to be the finish. From there, it’ll be up to the two writers. The focus will more likely be on the backstage antics and drama, rather than the in-ring competition; promos will have a huge part in things, though. Gotta get over and get the crowd to love you. Catch phrases are good.

This is a crazy idea, even for us kinda, so hopefully it garners some interest and we can drive it to success like we always do.

  • Regular site rules: No Godmodding, No perfect characters, No cybering... etc, etc.

  • No drama. Don't make a scene in OOC. If problems do arise please PM us and we will deal with the issue accordingly.

  • There is no set posting order, but give other people a chance to respond to your characters.
If it's been awhile since the last post, don't hesitate to post.

  • Quality over quantity - High Casual RP

  • Real face claims in a modern setting.

  • If you have a major event in mind that can affect the entire mood of the roleplay, ie. a major death
PLEASE contact us before you post it in IC. For the most part, our writers have plenty of creative liberties.
We just need to make sure your idea doesn't drastically disrupt the roleplay.

  • Our roleplay is an action-packed wrestling roleplay. We do not stray away from controversial topics, but that is not the focus. IC drama is perfectly acceptable.

  • Let us know if you're going on a hiatus - Try to be active. Don't just disappear. Communication is key.

  • Post C.S. in the OOC and wait for approval. Do not post anything in the character tab until accepted.

  • Please read the first post in the IC for more information on the story.

Official Posting Rules for this roleplay:

  • Include which segment number you are posting at the top of your post, in the header; this will help us from having to do segments in order, allowing more posts, without waiting on writers who may be slower.
  • Segments are to be turned in within two weeks. If your segment is not being worked on or finished within those two weeks, we'll skip over it to keep the roleplay moving. THAT BEING SAID, you are free to come back and write it at a later date. This will be on a 3-strike process, miss your segment posting date 3 times, without previously telling us, and you're outta here.
  • This roleplay will be starting backstage during the current PPV, Sin City Showdown. Feel free to post backstage antics!
  • Don't take your character's placement on the card, position in the tournament, or booking to heart. In the OOC we're all friends. If your character gets upset IC, that's another thing entirely. I'll be doing my best to make sure everyone has a part of the show, especially during PPVs.
  • That being said, I'm going to try to keep the weekly shows at a similar number of segments/length as the opening show.
  • As far as matches go, work them out however you want, as long as the end result follows the booking written down.
  • Commentary will mostly be written by myself and the other GMs, please don't add your own. I will personally ensure that every match is commentated somehow, I haven't really gotten that far yet.

Commentators: Wade Palmer & Kane Zimmerman

Our story begins at the first PPV under the new creative team, Sin City Showdown. Taking place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and Headlined by Gethin Rhys vs Chaos Clayton for the Heavyweight title, this PPV marks a new era in AWE history.

With the forced sentence of the boss’s boss’s golden boy, Drayden to the injury shelf, the main event scene has been cracked open. The new creative team seems to have a plan to launch people who should have been superstars years ago, but were held down by super Drayden, into that next tier. The AWE is being rebuilt, more or less from the ground up, a ton of new talent is coming in, and older talent is finally getting the chance to be something more than just a one and done flash in the pan feud with Drayden.

Make sure you’re in the plan.
@WXerI surely can. discord.gg/KUgHef

Right after school...
Collab with @Lovely Complex as Luna & Stella

Owen’s hand flicked the shifter, kicking the car up a gear as he blew past the exit toward the estate where his grandfather lived.

What was he doing? Why did he always do this to himself? He was chasing pain. Chasing a bad decision. He knew that much, he really truly did. Maybe he was desperate. Maybe he just worried about her. Worrying about her was fair, right? He’d seen how bad Ophelia and Hailey were letting his Trixie get. They didn’t know what they were doing, they didn’t know her.

She had been drunk, upset, and he knew she was about five seconds away from a breakdown when he’d saw them. The right thing to do would have been to take her away from them, physically pull her aside and hold her until she felt better. But Owen was undeniably volatile at the moment, and Ophelia had egged him on. She’d set his time bomb off.

He would be okay, with time. But would Trixie? Owen didn’t know. He wanted to be back with her yes; romantically, sexually, emotionally, all that stuff. But most importantly? Owen wanted to know she was okay. If he knew she were okay, even if she wasn’t his, he’d be better. Maybe they’d never get back together (he really hoped that wasn’t the case), but Owen didn’t really blame her for anything that had happened, and he wanted her to be okay. She deserved to be okay.

He hit the shifter again, this time downshifting as he pulled up to the gate to the Stentorian Estate, where Trixie Kingsley stayed with her aunt and uncle, Ty and Juliana Locke. He reached out with a hand and punched in the number; it never changed and he’d put it in very, very many times over the years. The gate rolled open and Owen’s car revved up as he pulled inside, a sound that had not been heard on the Estate in almost two and a half months, but one that was unmistakable nonetheless.

He pulled up the driveway and parked in front of the Locke’s home. Owen’s car door opened upwards, and he stepped out of it, holding in his hand the stupid flower that the lil guy had given him. With a deep breath, he approached the door, and knocked. Stella and Luna would help him out, right?

Peeking through the curtain of the family room window, not so conspicuously, Stella ‘psst’ at her sister, “OWEN IS HERE. Why is he here? Did Trixie and him get back together? What is he holding?”

“I know as little as you do, Stel.” Luna dully stared at her sister by the archway that led to the front door. She was insufferable at times. “You know… he probably can see you.”

“WHAT?!” Like the silly girl that she was, Stella ducked to the ground. Down, down, down! Ha-hah! He didn’t see her. She was too fast.

Rolling her eyes, Luna decided to ignore her sister and open the door. “What?” Her response came out much shorter than she meant it to. Oh well. He was the one that cheated. He deserved it.

It had only been two months, but in the span of that two months, Owen had been happy to put Stella in the back of his head. He’d half considered waving at her, but ultimately decided to let her have her fun. When the door opened, and it was Luna that spoke to him, Owen considered turning around and leaving. He closed his eyes for a brief moment to steel himself, then he spoke up. “Kid said I should give this to Trixie. Give it to her for me.” There. Fast, simple, and to the point. Owen didn’t need to explain his whole life story to these girls, no way. They barely deserved the bare minimum of details. Owen held out the beautiful red flower, and shook his head. “It’s stupid, isn’t it?”

“GIVE WHAT?” Stella yelled from the other room, before prancing toward the door and poking her head over Luna’s shoulder. “Give what… hi, Owen.” She shyly whispered, as her gaze scanned the boy she hadn’t seen in AGES. Her eyes rested on the flowers. Aw. Owen was such a romantic. Always giving Trixie flowers. One day she’d have a boy to give her flowers. Though, honestly, she’d prefer plushies. Lots and lots of fluffy, soft teddies.

Raising an eyebrow, Luna’s expression showcased the thoughts: what do you think, dude? But the words that left her mouth were, “You do it.” Trixie’s emotions were all over the place. She was not going to be caught in this mess and if he wanted her back so much, why didn’t he just go… talk to her? Granted, that could push her away. The situation was messy and Trixie was still very much sensitive over the fact that he cheated on her and then she threw her professionalism out the door and ruined him on the Black and Orange. Hey, at least she owned up to her article, unlike the Weekend Warrior.

“Are you crazy? I can’t do it.” Owen protested, stomping his foot before he looked over at Stella. “Hi. Stella. Give this to Trixie.” Owen said, changing his plan of attack as he thrust out the flower in Stella’s direction. He couldn’t give it to her, didn’t they understand? He should have thrown the thing away. Owen’s protests carried on, before he even gave Stella a proper chance to respond or decline.

“You don’t understand. She can’t see me. I’ll just make things worse. She’s not okay. I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO!” Though Owen was yelling, it wasn’t like when he yelled in the past; when he was angry and enraged. It was just a yell of someone who was speaking the truth: he didn’t know what to do.

“She can’t see you? Or you won’t see her?” Luna had faith that her cousin was a lot stronger than people made her out to be. Yes, she was emotional. Breaks up do that. And yes, plenty of times she wasn’t okay. But, she was working thing out. Today she was happier than she has been in awhile. It was like seeing the old Trixie again. A Trixie ready to face anything. No matter how much pain it brought her.

Hesitantly, Stella walked around her sister and gently pushed Owen’s hand, that held the flower, back to him, “It would mean a lot more, if it came from you.” Trixie still very much loved this boy. If she didn’t, his stuff wouldn’t still be in her closet. His jacket, especially. If anything, Trixie was holding herself back from attacking him, in the romantic sense, whenever she could because she was protecting him. From her. Honestly, she could believe her cousin didn’t think she deserved happiness. Not the love kind of happiness. Not after what she did. This whole ordeal brought out the worst of her and now she must cleanse herself until she is fully okay. But no one can make her okay but herself. That doesn’t mean she should avoid her problems and avoid people that revolve around all of them. Owen was and still is very important to her cousin and so, he must be the one to give it to her. Not Luna. Not her. No one but himself. It was his gesture. For forgiveness? Or maybe just to show he still loves her? Stella didn’t know, but it felt right to say no. She was going to follow her instincts.

Owen drew in breath deeply through his nose. Fine; he could do it himself. “Fine. You want me to give it to her? I will.” Owen grumbled, shouldering his way past the twins and into the house. Like clockwork, he walked down the hall and directly to Trixie’s room, where he took the flower and put it on the bed. He went to her drawers and withdrew a pen and a piece of paper, from the places he knew they never left.

Owen was here. Hi. Don’t be mad.

He scribbled onto the piece of paper, and sat the flower on her bed with the note. Then he walked back to the twins, and glowered at them. “There. Are you happy?” He demanded, running a hand through his hair. “I left her a note too.”

“Hm, I’d be happier with cake.” Luna lightheartedly teased. Truthfully, she was just happy neither Owen or Trixie were… sitting around anymore? The first step of getting better was admitting you weren’t okay. The second? Taking action.

“Strawberry shortcake! You should totally come back with cake.” Hey, if they asked favors, maybe it would be like the old times! Maybe on the cake he could say: I love you, Trixie. But Trixie may never see it… it probably would get eaten. Hm. This might not work in the forgiveness department, but it’ll at least make her and Luna’s tummies happy!

“I’m not coming back with a cake. I’m probably not coming back. She’s going to see the note and freak out and want me dead again.” Owen shrugged his shoulders helplessly and walked past the twins, sighing. “Thanks for the help. Even if you weren’t really very helpful. I appreciate the thought.” With that, Owen slid into his car, and started it up. “See ya next time, if there is a next time.”

“Such a debbie downer!” “I’m sure there will be— ” “—a next time! Stay hopeful. It totally—” “—suits you.”
