That is something I have in my head a lot of times. Maybe you are not truly in control and whatever is controlling you is actually controlling the events around us, like it is creating a story or game. Or...maybe a group of beings are actually pulling strings. Some may have disagreements and conflict with each other creating the horrible and bad events that come our way.
