A police officer came to my door; said he was looking for suspect with one eye. I told him he'd probably have an easier time if he used both eyes.

Bio

Not born in a log cabin, I came into the RPing venture around 2009 and quickly joined about twenty roleplays more than I should have at the time. I've been around the internet in that time span, participated in and run RPs on multiple forums, and brushed shoulders with a wide variety of players and characters. Getting to work with new people has always been part of the allure of the experience.

My interests in RPing are pretty diverse, and not genre-specific; if there's room at the table and I can think of a dish to serve, I'll cook something up for just about any meal. If you know what I mean.

@Daxam for the sake of the Hotel scene split (and my brain's present bandwidth), let's just say that Squall/co and Zac are all already on the same page as far as the intel; they talked about everything off screen. So at the Hotel, Zac will give the Keybearers+Morgan the lowdown on the situation.

I pitched the general idea to King... This is for the Hotel in Traverse Town, not an amend to the the adventure proper:

Blue Room: Zac-Hoshi-Levi-Lucian-Morgan
Green Room: Squall-Yuffie-Donald-Goofy-Daisy-Max
Red Room: Aerith-Leon-Launchpad

Basically, this would be for something similar to the scene in the first game where Leon and Yuffie explain the Keyblade and Heartless to Sora, and Aerith tells Donald and Goofy about Ansem. Basically the Traverse Town crew explaining to the Disney characters what the plan/idea is. Zac can drop some info/wisdom onto the Keybearers.
May I asked how you define "low entry requirements"?

If things like more bare bones sheets to fill out are part of that, then yeah. Some aspects of common character sheets have, imo, lost their (or tend to lose) their weight.

Personality sections tend to feel like more of a chore; why tell you how my character behaves and processes the world around them when I can show it more effectively through writing in-character?
@Qia same vein as my thoughts on blurry control. At some point in the life of an RP, it can reach a state in which the players have contributed creatively, logistically, etc. as much as the GM. The world and mechanics may be of the GM's making, but the stoties and relations between characters come from the players that join and participate. There's a lot of nuance to the matter, imo; maybe worthy of it's own discussion topic.

I'd be inclined designate spinoffs as an acceptable avenue as well though, if the RP ran for a while and got deep into the plot. Maybe more easily done via 1x1, or closed RPs between the people the were involved. Hell, I'd go off site/PM style so as to keep it off the record. Deleting an RP to keep others from referencing it is, I think, a bit petty? Excessive might be a better term. Someone on a prior forum rage quit and pulled exactly that and left our group like wtf?
Is terribly wrong to think it a weird vibe for someone to ghost on (or openly drop from) their own RP and get upset if the people that joined decided to press on in some way, shape, or form?

If one is either too busy or too unmotivated/disinterested (especially the latter), why even care? Why fret over "losing control" over something that you've decided not to see through to the end? What's the thought process? And frankly, what's to stop anyone to pick up where tbings left off, or to reboot the idea? Last I checked, there's no rule explicitly banning that practice. How far do you go to keep your idea dead once you decide to kill it?
If we're in accord, I do believe matt is up?

Maybe make your own RP at that point, then.

Let's agree to disagree. 🤷‍♂️
I guess something like that? Maybe it's more that While Hoshi and Leon are bickering, Launchpad decides to 'help' of his own accord. We're kind of starting of on a foot of Hoshi readily trusting the two, considering they deceived her just a bit, at least from her perspective.
@IAmTheIsland i mean, if you want an excuse to crash the ship, then Launchpad is RIGHT there.

But I also need to establish where Hoshi's intentions are in the moment.
@IAmTheIsland Sorry for my lack of activity. So, if we're going to Aristocats world, i'll try to make a post later to push us towards that, or, if you have any other worlds you'd prefer, do let me know.

We're not heading off of Traverse Town just yet.

I'm almost into the idea of the trio ending up somewhere similar to how SDG ended up in Deep Jungle. Hoshi, hearing Alias is in Wonderland wants to go there to fetch him, but Leon (being the pragmatic one) insists on going to another world. A struggle for the ship controls ensues.
@IAmTheIsland Well, going back to my old RP like this, the first world i sent the party to was Aristocats world... And they lost... Maybe watching a world get consumed by The Heartless will be the kick in the pants she needs?

So straight to Hoshi as a furry. Lol
