Current I find that what's harder to think of than the deleted pbp sites are the ones that are still up, but completely devoid of life. Like looking at an abandoned city.

Being 'sad' or depressed used to be the fuel behind my writing. But lately I feel like that emotional state is more hindering to my creative process than helpful. How do I adjust for this?

Bio

Not born in a log cabin, I came into the RPing venture around 2009 and quickly joined about twenty roleplays more than I should have at the time. I've been around the internet in that time span, participated in and run RPs on multiple forums, and brushed shoulders with a wide variety of players and characters. Getting to work with new people has always been part of the allure of the experience.

My interests in RPing are pretty diverse, and not genre-specific; if there's room at the table and I can think of a dish to serve, I'll cook something up for just about any meal. If you know what I mean.

So long as you feel as though you'll be able to keep up with the pace we've set in the IC, by all means feel free to submit something.

After further consideration to the visible pace of this RP, my 'real life' goals/plans, and my present RPing commitments, I will opt not to submit a character.

Best wishes to this RP and all involved.
Thank you to everyone for your interest! Really happy with how the IC has taken off thus far. The GMs have agreed that we are going to close applications off for now in order to allow folks to get settled into our story.

However, @IAmTheIsland & @Yankee given you both expressed interest prior to the deadline, if you're both interested, we'll still allow your character sheets to be submitted for consideration.

If this is still on the table, I'll work on a sheet over the coming weekend. If I don't manage to get anything up before JUne 22nd, I'll just take this one as a by-gone.

She is at the back of the atrium.

But the atrium of what facility?
So where is this atrium that Sarah is in?
So I feel something that doesn't usually happen with Superhero RPs (that I'd like to do someday) is the process of giving characters their individual arcs and then bringing the team together. It's either a sandbox with minimal intent at a team up, or the team is already formed (save for stragglers). The slow burn of personal arcs => assembled team would be so satisfying.
So is Sarah in the same place as everyone else? I thought she was om a rescue mission apart from everyone else?
"Well, that was unsettling. But nice place you got here. I'm Heidi Williams. Can I get suited up in your bathroom?

Ryken

Stirred by the calling of a foreign voice within her own head, Kaitori emerged from a gentle slumber. While uneventful to the point of near-mundanity, the road from the Bom Bom farm had nonetheless warranted a period of rest and reflection. To that purpose, the young ronin had procured a choice plot beneath a back alley awning under which to put her feet up; a Five-Star accommodation for a rookie wanderer. But clearly what her lodging boasted for amenities were offset by the unrequested wake-up call from the other side of the city.

She awoke promptly, the echoing psychic message cutting into a dream of crimson and steel. Unconcerned with the resolution of her mind’s nightly playhouse drama, Kaitori set her focus upon the calling. It had been a plea for help, resonating from what sounded to be a young woman. It came with clear enough instruction as to where the trouble was. Only for a glancing second did the idea of it being a trap or a ruse cross the samurai’s thoughts; the notion was quickly refused, as there wasn’t a soul in Ryken with reason to bait her. And if it did turn out to be a lure to her demise… that would simply be the easiest way out.

With little time spared for her lack of possessions or provisions, Kaitori tied her hair accordingly, gathered her sword, and undertook the task of finding her way to the waterfront. The trek was one worthy of adventure in its own right. While Kaitori could navigate and negotiate the countryside well enough, weaving through the streets and alleys of a city proved to be expectedly more complicated. At her pace, she may or may not have sent a stray citizen or two jumping to the side as she ran through towards the waterfront, her hand precariously clasped around the hilt of her sword.

Rendered tardy by her unfamiliarity with the urban landscape, she arrived hastily to the ramshackled storehouse. She had missed out on the all-important briefing, entering the building to the sounds of a battle already begun somewhere at the bottom of a flight of stairs. Grateful as she should have been for her prior respite, and the leisurely stroll that had brought her to Ryken, she was more gracious to find herself faced with a purpose for her blade.

She reached the bottom landing promptly, and bore the unfolding conflict: another elf-folk roused a trio of beasts; a man clad in black cast some manner of spell through a metallic artifact; a fae creature hovered overhead casting their own magic; a young woman held the line of command, directing a myriad of entities into position. Beset upon them were pale, lizardlike monstrosities crawling through a gaping hole in the basement floor. The creatures should have horrified the swordwielder, but this was no time for fear.

With great speed, Kaitori made a beeline to her right, working to the flank of the formation formed by a row of shield maidens manifested from the ether by the woman calling the orders.

Absent her own dedicated subordinates or the leverage of proper magic, but away from the main throughway of the onslaught of monsters, she favored her chances of catching them one-on-one. Picking a single entity with proximity to herself, she assured her hold on her katana. With a breath of elation, she unsheathed the sword, wrapping her other hand around its hilt. With a focus on energy flowing through and from the sharpened edge, she slashed the weapon downward on a right-to-left angle. A force of energy mimicking the edge and curvature of her blade cut towards the nearest monster; being struck from away would surely draw its attention?

Hey, everyone! When I get the chance tomorrow I'm going to write a narration post explaining that everyone in Traverse Town began their journeys off world. I feel like you guys may be feeling stuck and not sure what to post, so I'm going to help you all along.

Matt and I have been sitting on a collab that needs some polishing/finishing touches.

I am also in EST. It is the 7th for roughly an hour and half. I'll either make it, or I won't.
