I'm having way too much fun with my Legend of Zelda Encylopedia. This is the game that got me into roleplaying so have a lot invested in it's lore and stories. Too bad can't have all the games too.

Getting through BrightWing Gates - The Real Story

As the group approached and guards were ready to stop them, Lexus Dominiel was the first to speak up in an attempt to smooth the situation over that would arise. However, Danielle hardly thought shouting out "Guards!" as the first thing to come out of the NPC's mouth, was hardly a good start. The gaurds instantly became more weary of the rather handsome, yet androgenous, man who called out to them. Also, somehow the characteristic, humble, was not really something Danielle could see as a defining trait for any of them.

Two of the guards in the area came up and started asking questions, unfortunately they decided to focus their attention of Himitsu as she was obviously a demi-human. They also gave December a few cold stares when they noticed the horns on her head, though because of her mostly human features they were unsure if she was actually a demi-human as well. At the mention of documentation, Danielle knew things were about to become complicated, but decided to stay quiet for the moment to think about what best to say, if she could help it she wanted to avoid using her powers to get through.

Unfortunately it appeared some of the guards were a little perverted. Danielle tried her best not to blanch at the prospect but managed to keep a respectful smile on her face despite their advances. No doubt the only reason the guards were able to get away with such talk was because of the crisis at hand keeping the authorities' eyes on other issues. Still, the situation could easily be worked to their advantage as Danielle knew, from a little experimentation with other travelers, that her skills would easily work on most inhabitants of this world, but then Himitsu decided to intervene probably as a way keep their creepy eyes off her.

"You insolent fools! "Yes, it is true that our group is religious. In fact, the reason we all look different is because we are all joined together for our love to the one true god. A god that is almighty and powerful yet humble and benevolent. That god's name is none other than...BEYONCE!"

Danielle was downright flabbergasted at what Himitsu had just spouted, she wasn't sure about December but probably she was downright confused and had no idea how to diffuse the strange situation. What in the world was that bird-brain thinking? Here they were in an alternate reality, trying to enter a city that was on high alert, and the most suspicious member in the group was freely talking about religion while trying to pretend a singer from over a century ago was some sort of deity! Sure they should have no idea about the reference but what was she trying to do? Get them all arrested.

By now all the guards and even the gatekeeper were both puzzled, scared, and ready to bring down the law of the land on these strangers. Now completely panicked, Danielle was trying to remember all her spells and passives to see if there was someway to get out of this situation as it just got worse and worse as Himitsu started to dance of all things. She was dang lucky she was in those priestess clothes and had wings, otherwise the dance would have looked at whole lot worse, thankfully it just seemed more alien than anything else but Danielle could tell their goose would be cooked if she did not do something quickly.

Thankfully as a player who went down the seduction route, there were plenty of spells and passives that would help persuade npcs to be helpful and to easily give into suggestion. Also all of the guards were men so the effects would be considerably more effective. Under her breathe, Danielle started to activate quite a few skills, "Aura of Bafflement, Willpower Reduction, Gentle Suggestion, Foggy Mind, Seductive Compliance." Passives and spells slyly made their way into the surrounding guards minds and before they realized it they were already falling under the various effects powers.

The final spell she cast to complete the trend was mental suggestion, it made low level NPCs unknowingly easily give in to whatever information next came into their heads, of course in the game it could only be used on specific commands, like persuasion word options that could be used on NPCs in certain quest lines for bonuses, but in the real world it appeared to be a different beast entirely, it was a good thing these guards were obviously low enough level though as the spell was hardly useful against anything above say, level 30. The guards were so low level though, it made them actually think that the awful dancing was actually helping them, when they took the suggestion to try it out as well.

There was one guard that seemed to have exceptionally high willpower however, but with a little extract nudging from a hypnotizing eye spell to make him give in. As the last mental block fell, the guards eagerly let them inside. Danielle was frankly quite amazed she had been able to pull it off despite Himitsu's blundering, it just went to show that the effects of the spells really did change quite a bit when applied to 'real' world logic, and the fact that the guards were mostly low-willed simpletons, if there had been a mage or a female there though, it probably would not have worked.

Once inside, Himitsu tried to play it off with an innocent smile. Danielle had to work hard to not snap at her, thankfully as a teacher, he was used to things that tried to get on his nerves. "Please, just don't try something like that again, I nearly had a heart attack." Danielle was not sure, but she imagined December was looking pityingly on her as she probably picked up on what Danielle had done for the group.

Back at the gate, the guards were all shaking their heads and trying to figure out what exactly had just happened, everything from the past few minutes seemed a little muddled. "Hey, do you remember a group of weirdos a moment ago? I remember we were questioning them and then I felt...happy?"

The main gatekeeper had a baffled look on his face as he also tried to figure out exactly what had happened. "Yes, I...well there was that really gorgeous woman among them, I remember our eyes met and...huh, well nothing we can do about it now. If we let them in them they must have been alright...by the dragon lords that was a weird meeting."

Probably not wanting to admit they may have done something they should have, the guards shrugged off the incident and continued on with their day.
Sooo back to politics, looks like I was a little wrong in my earlier assessment as finally even the left-leaning news sites and publications are finally starting to turn their backs on the Antifa crowd. Yes, antifa is the moral equivalent of neo-Nazis, lol that title cracked me up. I feel like this seeming turn around is too little too late at this point but maybe it's at least a start.

So what do you think about this seemingly turning on Antifa by the leftist media? Are they actually finally getting concerned about people trying to silence all opposition through violence? They just trying to save their already crispy bacon? Thoughts?

It looks like we also have something to move one. Get to writing you!

@13org

A good chance he is referring to my post which has undead heading in on your guys position...I just forgot to mention the people involved in it and mentioned after the fact doesn't help at all...whoops.

That said, I do think Spooky could easily do something at this point in time.
Katze Plains

@13org@Thecrash20

As the duo traveled through the murky terrain, the cold mud trying to cling to their feet and the fog attempting to drown out their vision, their movement did not go unnoticed by the dark residents of the plains. The centuries of death that permeated the land had made the plains into an Undead breeding ground. If it had just been the undead warrior who was traveling through the undead would have paid no heed to the travelings, but the bursting vitality of the young beastwoman quickly tickled the life detection abilities of the monsters.

From without the depths of the mist the sounds of clanking metal and bones could be heard as undead from around the plains zeroed in on the strong life force. Skeletal warriors, zombies, and a few death hounds were the first to arrive on the scene. The skeletons marched on souless, making no sounds aside from the clanking of rusted armor and creaking bones. The zombies groaned and shambled at a slower pace behind the zombies, while the death hounds, nasty guard dogs of death and decay, growled and started to slowly circle around, the only enemies at the moment that seemed to have an ounce of intelligence while the rest just clanked onward with various weapons raised to attack.

From deeper within the mists, in the remains of a broken tower, a figure watched the scene with interest.

Outside Brightwing

Danielle could not help but worry at the words that came out of the former NPC's mouth. This Lexus fellow was quite the religious fanatic who appeared to think he was destined to bring about the apocalypse, she certainly hoped he would follow his master's orders enough to not start attacking everyone. Thankfully, like her own servant who was currently fawning over her every whim, his loyalty appeared absolute to his creator.

Danielle felt the pat on her back and was greatful for December's encouragement. When she talked about transmuting her equipment she thought about it, but decided not to take up on her offer, she also wondered about the currency and how that would work out. "Thanks for the offer but at the moment, as loathe as I am to admit it, I might need this outfit for what's ahead."

Danielle pointed ahead where they could see progress had slowed down the closer they got closer to the capital, it was apparent that the city had a military checkpoint at it's entrance and the guards were doing checks on everyone. The reason was obviously the war going on, no doubt they were on the lookout for demi-human spies that might leak information to the encroaching beastmen.

"We've only heard little bits of information here and there, but these beastmen really have the people here on edge, plus we have no idea what they're on the look out for." While Danielle could easily pass as a human with her human disguise, Himitsu was obviously a demihuman so there would be no skirting around that. Really the only option they had was to see how the guards responded and what questions they asked to figure out what they needed to do to enter the city. Considering they were new to this world, getting on the bad side of the residents was probably not in their best interest.

The gatekeeper has having a hard time figuring out what this strange group of individuals was. They were so different from each other, appeared to be quite well off and even had an obvious demi-human with them. His first thought about spying the strange company was that they were some foreign adventurer group, but as she could see no metals on their persons that would not be the case, unless they were actually a group of workers. Needless to say as they were not adventurers with the guild he was very suspicious as they approached.

The gatekeeper was trying his best but he was having a hard time acting professional while a certain direction kept trying to grab his attention. They were still a few groups behind but soon he would have to face the group and figure out what they were doing at the capital. Already the many guards that were stationed around were tense as they saw a beastman approaching the gates, even one that appeared to be a priestess since for all they could know the beastmen had their own strange religions that she was a part of.

Also, because it is topical and spicy, let us defer back to actual racism in the face of tragedy for a moment because we were all so worked up over "racist statues" just a few weeks ago which started this very recent expedition with our newer company. Will the Alt-Left disavow all of these people, or do they just not represent everyone involved in the Left?

Lol, Alabama just raised up another confederate monument. Then of course if you look more closely you see it was raised in the Confederate Veterans Memorial Park, doubt it would have made the news if it were not finished during this time period. This thing isn't even a statue, just a glorified tombstone for all the unknown confederates soldiers that gave their lives in the war, yet for some reason this popped up on a newsfeed, hope it doesn't suddenly become the next monument to get vandalized.

The thing about the Alt-Left is they have dug themselves into such a deep hole, they have already pushed away the majority of leftists who are disgusted by all the violent rhetoric and actual violence being essentially praised by leftist spokespersons. With a good chunk of their previous base already rapidly leaving or even gone, they probably cannot afford to call out these racists for fear of depleting their base even further. The alt-left is desperately trying to pretend they are still as unified as ever so they can still exert as much influence as they can on the people through either fear or virtue signaling.

All the biggest voices for the alt-left know that as soon as they stop doubling down on their ever decreasing base, they will quickly fracture into even more groups and lose the last bit of power they are still clinging to. At this point though, it's more just a question of when they'll finally lose their power as more and more people get voted out of their positions by tired Americans sick of hypocrisy. They still have a fair bit of power left and they are not about to throw it all away yet.
How far would we be allowed to push ahead? I basically have a plot that I'm trying to pursue that will take some in-game time.

As long as you are not exactly with a group I see no reason that you have to be in the same time frame as everyone else. You'll just have to make up the difference when you decided you want to interact with other players at the time.
We don't generally hand out 2nd place trophies for wars friend. It's best we just tear'em all down now.

Well unlike most of the big wars that make the history books, those are not from Civil Wars. Families were split up over loyalty to their state and loyalty to the federal government. It was a war where also every single casualty was an American. The South was down right proud of how long they managed to hold out and had a good chance of actually forcing a settlement and becoming an independent confederation of states if it had not been for some very key mistakes on the battlefield.

The South never wanted to conquer the North, they just wanted to be left well enough alone. The famous Emancipation Proclamation was a key strategic move by President Lincoln and the North both to boost their own fighting forces by getting the slaves excited by freedom to start working for them, to hit the South economically as hard as possible, and to give their fight the moral edge they needed to get the regular people back on their side in the seemingly never ending war. Most likely slavery would have died out on its own eventually but the Civil War, forced the United States to drop it very quickly since the North needed to do that to give them the edge they needed.

So why do we have so many statues of Robert E. Lee? Robert E. Lee was a very likable man, a very successful general, and people on both sides of the war had great respect for the man. When the war was just in its infancy President Lincoln himself asked Robert E. Lee to lead the Union troops, but the man was a state loyalist first, and so when Virginia joined the Confederacy that is the side he joined. Robert E. Lee lead the Confederacy to victory many times throughout the war, basically was one of the main reasons the Confederacy had a chance to win, although he was also the main reason they lost in the end because of his rash decisions at Gettysburg which prevented the Confederacy from being able to put Washington DC ever in danger again so they could force terms.

Even after the war, Robert E. Lee was treated with great respect though because of the side he took he was banned from ever running for a lot of government positions. Many people still considered him a great and honorable man and if he had never joined the Confederacy had a good chance to have been elected President of the United States if he had ever run. The South was proud of what they had accomplished and to help ease relations during and after reconciliation, why not allow a few statues of great men and leaders to be erected? No one put those statues up because they fought to protect slavery, but because they fought for their state's rights and gave the Union a run for their money for many years.

I would say the statues were an overall nice way to give tribute to the men who gave their lives in service to a cause they believed in and helped the South to overcome the bitter feelings of their defeat and the many changes their society had to go through in a very short period of time. By having the nation respect these men, it helped with the reconciliation process and made reminders to all that even good men could be on the wrong side of history, also the hope that the good people of America would never be forced to choose sides and fight in a civil war ever again, a tragedy that should never be repeated.

Despite the wrongness of slavery which is what the Civil War became about. As fellow Americans we can respect our fallen brothers and sisters and what they fought for. We respect their drive and their passions but we also remind ourselves that slavery is never something to fight for, of course when the Civil War started that was not the major issue of the day.
SouthEast - Toward the Capital

After thinking about it for a while, HideYourMen finally decided on a name to call himself, or more precisely, herself. Deciding to keep it as close to his actual name as possible, so he wouldn't forget, Daniel decided that from now on he would go by the name of Danielle. It would also him him keep his sanity as being called HideYourMen was definitely not a good name to be called in the real world.

So after clearing that issue up, Danielle found herself with a rather strange assortment of individuals and soon they decided to head toward the most populated city in the area. First they had figured out the direction to go to get out of the mountains as quickly as possible. Then once they had got onto flat ground, they had met who appeared to be a traveling farmer who at first, had been frightened by their strange appearance but thanks to some unnatural charm from HideYourMen, they quickly were given the direction of the largest city in the area, the capital of the Dragonic Kingdom, Brightwing. Apparently it was named after the Brightness Dragon Lord who was actually the great-great grandfather of the current ruler, Draudillon Oriculus.

Of course without knowing the locations history, this was all pretty much just trivia to them.

Thankfully there were at least some decent roads around to follow and progress from then on had been swift. At this point they could already see the large city of Brightwing, it appeared to be built around somewhat of a large hill, with a rather strong looking castle at the top. As they got closer it was easy to tell that castle was mostly made from solid stone, which made sense if it had indeed been the home of an actual dragon for a time. While the castle was of decent size, it was small in comparison to the city that surrounded it.

If one looked at it from above, one could see that the city had a good civil engineer behind it. There were a decent amount of grounds, the city plan was neatly mapped into various sections, from housing, to markets, even a small park here and there. The city may not have been grand in design, but it was neat and certainly had its more impressive areas. There was little doubt that a great many people lived there.

From the outside one could see a medium sized wall around the city, while by no means one of the biggest it looked sturdy and defencible. There was a good deal of traffic heading into the city and a little less coming out. While a good portion of the travelers were merchants there also appeared to be quite a few refugees who appeared to be fleeing from the east. Many looked worn out and more than a few appeared to be dead inside, their eyes soulless and empty.

While it had been some time since the initial transition, HideYourMen, now known as Danielle, was still having trouble coming to terms with her transformation and was having a bit of an identity crisis. It had not helped matter that pretty much every bit of clothing the young woman now owned was rather skimpy. This made any admiring glances or downright lecherous gazes from the residents of this world feel all the more gross. While he was now a gorgeous woman, he had been a man and certainly had no interest in other men. Role playing in the game world as a seductress had been hilarious fun but now it was real and no longer age restricted. His game build was coming back to bite him in a lot of mental ways.

"The first thing I'm going to do is to buy some decent clothing. Good heavens I know the stats are good on these things but now that its real, it's just downright embarrassing!" Danielle shivered a little when she felt a passing gaze from someone heading the other way.

"If we ever return to our world, I will never use skimpy equipment on a female character ever again."

@BurningDaisies @Stern Algorithm @Baraquiel

Can people still join this?

You probably could though, if you don't join up with a group don't expect to get too much help from the gms who already have their hands full. Course you would need to be accepted first.

@13org
Ya the road would essentially be 'off' of the danger zone, so to speak.
Are we timeskip now?

Yes, it's been say, a few days to a week at this point, so everyone will still not know much about their surroundings.

Also I'm going to start adding locations to the first post so people can know where they are heading.
