Hey all, JB here.
I'm a DM for a large number of games here on RPG, as well as a player in several others. Many of the games I run are overly complex, or they involve Dungeons and Dragons (which is also overly complex!).
I work 40+ hours a week, and am the proud father of two tiny terrors named Chibi and Chibette and married to my beautiful Wifey. As such, I am quite busy more often than not. I typically write 2-5 paragraphs per reply and try to maintain an excellent level of grammar. If you noticed me glancing at your profile, I probably was looking to see if you would be a good match for my RPing style. Even if I didn't send a PM to you, feel free to send one back!
I enjoy 1x1 RPs and small groups. I'm fond of medieval, steampunk, and futuristic settings, and I'll jump into romance, adventure, and slice of life RPs fairly quickly, although supernatural (vampires, werewolves, etc) RPs get old for me pretty quickly. If you're looking for an RP partner and I've glanced at your profile, then I'm most likely willing to give it a shot, but decided against PMing you because I'm actually kinda shy. But I'm always looking for a new friend!
Please feel free to say hi at any time!

@Grimhildr I hope you get better soon D: Although, in the spirit of the camaraderie I have seen in this topic, I feel like I should say you're just making excuses.
In reality, I truly hope you don't have any more crises, and that you will recover without needing any transfusions. Also, that we can start this fairly shortly, as it seems like a really fun RP.
"Did someone say 'adventure'?" A scarlet-haired woman in a long coat peeked her head out from behind one of the giant mech's legs as if she were using it for transportation. "If there is one thing I am good at, it is adventure!" She leapt down from the mech, landing on the ground with a forward roll that, when it reached its apex, turned into a quick bow. "The name is Jenneva, and I am and forever shall be at your service."
As the seas roiled and their fury pounded against us in a sleet-filled blizzard, more of these suicidal fish seemed to leap from the Mirror Sea above as if called by the wolf-like entity. They crashed down around us, but my spell held off the worst of the potential harm. It was an unusual feeling, being slapped in the face with a fish as large as my head, and I am ashamed to say it was neither the first nor the last time I had experienced such a sensation.
Ceria cast Hunter's Mark (Concentration, Lvl 1 spell) on the Goliath, then proceeded to shoot his face. Attack: 24 for 12 piercing damage.
Ceria's stats: HP: 22/22. AC: 14. Spells Remain / Total: Lvl 1: 2 / 3 Currently concentrating on: Hunter's Mark
New effects: Ceria shoots the ground at the goliath's feet, the arrow landing directly between her toes. She steps to the side as if to allow the enemies to pass.
@Crimmy@Write We got some spam in the Skype chat. Could we remove the Skype link from the OP? Also, if anyone can boot the spammer, that would be nice.
@Vesuvius00 This is true. However, stalking is a real thing, and being able to be effectively invisible makes constant harassment happen less frequently as the individual isn't reminded of the person whenever they log in. It doesn't end it, but it curbs it.
The friendships sidebar on the homepage shows your 10 most recently online friends, and then it plucks the ghosts out of those 10 and groups them together.
So am I right in thinking that all of your friends on the homepage sidebar have logged in within 12 hours? That would push some ghosts onto the "View All" list.
Lemme know if I'm wrong. Cuz then it's a bug.
I'm wondering if this feature should be modified to avoid such an occurrence, or perhaps to remove the Ghost Mode friends from the front page altogether. Here's my reasoning:
I have ~20 friends on my list. Perhaps 4 of them are ghosted frequently. During peak hours, it's not impossible nor unlikely that 8 of my friends may be online at the same time. The other two may have been online in the past half hour or so. Now, assuming one of these is a ghosted friend, I now know with certainty that they have been online within the past half hour, or may currently be online, thus removing the point of ghost mode.
I'm trying to think from a security point of view, where an individual might be ghosted because they feel insecure for any reason about their safety or perhaps receiving harassing PMs. Hopefully this isn't the case, but Ghost Mode at least allows them some security if it is. These changes can make a stalker or other undesired individual aware of their online presence with relative ease, especially if they have a large number of friends on their list. The main page gets refreshed with a high frequency, so it's not unlikely that this individual would notice the moment someone came online (or at least within the last 15 minutes or so). Moving the Ghost Mode friends completely to the View All page would mean someone cannot accidentally / casually stalk an individual that wishes to be ghosted.
Katia laid back on the grass near the lake with her eyes closed and a wide grin on her face. The conversation of her allies filled her ears, but what she was really ustening for was the conversation of nature. The grass rustled in the light breeze semding a thousand welcoming whispers scuttling along the ground. The trees danced with merrymaking, their natural castenets punctuating their rhythm. The pond splished and bubbled gently as the breeze caught ripples and carried them across the surface. Here was true peace: the bounty of Mother Nature and the antics of her friends.
The smile seemed to widen at that thought. It was mere months ago that she had been running hither and thither, lost with no home or allies. And then, as if by the hand of providence of the gods, they had gathered one by one. Katia would have to remember to thank a god if she ever saw one.
Her attention was brought back to her allies at Theodore's grumblings. "If you can't run around half-naked in the middle of Nature's Bounty a million leagues from the nearest civilization, where can you?" she called out, turning her head and opening her eyes to see who her friend was referring to. It was a bit of a shame that Thea was forced to cover herself with plate in each battle, as she held a natural and effortless beauty that seemed to be evident in nearly every Aasimar. Katia's glance was just in time to see the shared kiss, and a small frown overtook her grin from before. Katia sighed quietly and picked herself up from the grass, muttering to herself in Terran, "Bog dal, bog vzyal."
Picking up the quarterstaff she used as a walking stick, Katia turned to see Wick and Haemar talking in their favored Elvish language. Although Sylvan had been taught to her at an early age, Elvish had unfortunately eluded her grasp thus far, although she did pick out a familiar word. "You know, it's impolite to talk about someone when they can't understand you," she announced to the shorter Aasimar. Although her tone was scolding, the twinkle in her eyes belied the amusement hiding beneath. "The day ahead of us is bound to be a long one. If we are done with our rest, perhaps beginning our journey is in order."
With that, she turned to get one last glimpse of the sailor before his chain shirt was fully donned, then began to slowly walk down the hill, a patient gait that all could overtake with considerable ease. Her face turned to take in the rays of the sun, and she drew in a deep breath. "Akh, eto zhizn'."
At the interruption of the tales and merrymaking, a frown appeared on Drajhan's visage. Feasting was a time-honored tradition, and honored guests should not be interrupted or overshadowed by others. Not to mention the less-than-pleased looks on the firbolgs' faces. There was little to be done, however. The language spoken by these outsiders was called the high tongue, but it sounded nothing like Draconic. Either it was a distantly-related dialect lost to the Caerziros line generations ago, or these individuals were mistaken. In either case, the servant of the Raven Queen had stepped forward, and Drajhan felt that interrupting her parley would end poorly.
Instead, Draj tapped his foot impatiently on the floor before turning to one of the more attractive female firbolgs. Well, he supposed others of the race might find her attractive. "Perhaps once this party has concluded, you could show us around town," he suggested. "Your people seem wary of us. I simply would like to learn more about this place: its inhabitants, its architecture, its culture..."
