Caerziros Drajhan

Drajhan placed the tip of his pinkie finger in his aural cavity, attempting to clean it. He could have sworn that this commoner had just called him, Baron Caerziros Drajhan, Vindicator of the Southern Coasts, a common looter! A bandit! A... dare he think it... rogue! The audacity required to make such an accusation was unfathomable. Did he not see the flowing azure cape bearing the symbol of House Caerziros on the reverse? Was he unable to tell the difference between a brogueish brigand's blade and his exquisite arcane masterpiece?!

The dragonborn stepped forward, a subtle use of prestidigitation causing his already illustrious attire to sparkle ever so lightly in the foggy light. "I shall forgive this tri-toed newt his assumedly unintentional impudence. By my scales, I am no common thief, but the leader and protector of this group. We come here searching not for treasure, but for answers to the arcane mysteries this impromptu cavern must gold. I mean hold!" The slip of the tongue certainly must have gone unnoticed, right? The best thing to do was obviously to keep talking.

"Perhaps if you know this place, we could work out an arrangement. A guide certainly would not harm our expedition, and it appears you are just the sort of common local that would know something potentially of value to our cause." Drajhan bowed dramatically, but his hand rested upon the pommel of his sheathed blade, just in case the man was truly insane enough to attack a group of well-armed individuals, of which Draj was entirely and indisputably the leader of. At least, so he believed.

As Bar rounded the corner of the dense thicket, he could see two other goblins waiting for him with their bows drawn. The first releases his arrow, hitting with a roll of 16 for 5 damage!

"Here, I've got a bow." Kiki shrugged off her shortbow and quiver, leaving them for Cas, then darted to the corner of the bushes just as an arrow passed in front of her nose. "Oh no, you don't," she called out as she whipped her rapiers towards the goblin.

Mechanics

Rapier Attack: 8, misses.
Shortsword Attack: 17, hits for 4 piercing damage.

The last goblin, noting that he has more company, turns his bow on Kiki. He rolls an 18, hitting for 5 damage!

The Story Thus Far

In the city of Neverwinter, a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker asked you to bring a wagon load of provisions to the rough-and-tumble settlement of Phandalin, a couple of days' travel southeast of the city. Gundren was clearly excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip, saying only that he and his brothers had found "something big," and that he'd pay you ten gold pieces each for escorting his supplies safely to Barthen's Provisions, a trading post in Phandalin. He then set out ahead of you on horse, along with a warrior escort named Sildar Haliwinter, claiming he needed to arrive early to "take care of business."

You've spent the last few days following the High Road south from Neverwinter, and you've just recently veered east along the Triboar Trail. You've encountered no trouble for about half a day, but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and outlaws have been known to lurk along the trail. As you come around a bend, you spot two dead horses sprawled about fifty feet ahead of you, blocking the path. Each has several black-feathered arrows sticking out of it. The woods press close to the trail here, with a steep embankment and dense thickets on either side. The saddlebags have been looted. Nearby lies an empty leather map case.

The group was ambushed by several goblins and fought them off bravely, capturing several and making them talk to the scary barbarian. After terrifying, killing, and maiming the goblins, the group took off along a hidden trail, dodging snares and pits along the way. Following the goblins' trail, you come across a large cave in a hillside five miles from the scene of the ambush. A shallow stream flows out of the cave mouth, which is screened by dense briar thickets. A narrow dry path leads into the cave on the right-hand side of the stream. The barbarian asked the rogue to accompany him around the thicket for some undisclosed activity.

As you round the bend in the thicket, you notice three goblins lazing about. As they notice you, they spring into action, drawing their weapons.

Roll for Initiative!

In this encounter, Kiki and Bar will be the only ones from the group to act in the first round. The rest are surprised. The water is difficult terrain.

The first goblin draws his bow as the duo approach, sending a shot directly between them and missing both widely. It paused for a moment, muttered something like "I meant to do that" beneath his breath, then backed away a couple paces.

D&D 5e - The Lost Lands

At the call for battle, Katia wasted no time following after the burst of light and nearly overtaking it in her speed. As it crashed down, she brought her quarterstaff to land on one of the foes, or so she hoped. The blinding light from Wick's spell made it hard for her to see if the loud thwack was from hitting the enemy or the ground. Her claws whipped out to follow the strike from the quarterstaff, finding purchase in the shadowy flesh as she kicked off from her foe, landing a few feet away from it.

Keeping her momentum, Katia somersaulted away from the shadow, darting around the wall that surrounded the area to remain hopefully safe from any incoming shadows. "So, there's a lot of them!" she called back to her allies. "Let's help that guy out!"

Mechanics

Katia movement: Katia will leap off the building, using Slow Fall as a Reaction to negate 20 points of fall damage, and use Feline Agility to run 14 squares due east (avoiding the wall, of course). After her attacks, she will retreat west behind the wall the remaining 6 squares, ending on the far side of the wall due west from the top left enemy. As she has the Mobile feat, this movement will not provoke an Attack of Opportunity from any enemy she attacks, hit or miss.

Katia’s first attack is with her quarterstaff, two-handed: 7, dealing 5 bludgeoning damage if it hits.

Spending 1 Ki for Flurry of Blows. Remaining: 2/4

Katia’s second attack is an unarmed strike: 14, dealing 5 slashing damage.

Katia’s third attack is an unarmed strike: 17, dealing 7 slashing damage.

HP: 20/20. AC: 15. Ki: 2/4 (Recharge Short Rest).
Feline Agility: Not Available. Golden Surge: Available.

Modular Pathfinder

If you're still looking for some bodies, I'd be interested in playing some Pathfinder and can get a character put together fairly quickly. I'm usually the one doing the GMing, so I don't usually get a chance to get behind the wheel and play a character :D
