Greetings friends, partners, enemies, acquaintances, and strangers. I am Kassarock, or just Kass if you prefer, welcome to my profile. Anyway, I am a 20 something male roleplayer from the UK and a long time user of the site, although I have come and gone a fair bit over my time here. I used to be more active on the old site, and I still am relatively active in the off topic sections today, as well as in the guild's discord. So you might see me around.

I generally consider myself to be an advanced writer, I pretty much always write multiple paragraphs, and will drop walls of text if the mood takes me. My grammar is okay, but not formally perfect, so I do not expect that from my partners either. I normally like quite dark and dramatic themes in terms of content in my roleplays, regardless of genre. Unless I have got an interest check up, or have messaged you, I am not usually looking for new partners to write with.

I think that covers just about everything. Message me if you want to know more.

Aye, lemme know if I took any liberties with the family/town history stuff etc.
"Boys can be so difficult though, especially at his age. Trying to be a man, while still thinking and feeling very much like child. I want someone who will be a good influence. Steadying, perhaps."

Lady Cheldarine sighed and sipped at the cup of herbal tea in her hands. She sat back and leaned into the cushioned divan as the Princess spoke of learning about Morganyth and Formori culture. She smiled at the Princess's compliments, with almost a hint of smugness.

"Well in the case, we must set a date for you to visit my estate in the city, your Highness. Once all this silly confinement has passed." She gave the Princess a smile at that and a roll of the eyes that went unobserved by their eavesdropper. "Although I assure you, there are many in this Kingdom who are already proud of you, myself foremost among them."

The polite and inconsequential conversation between Lady Cheldarine and Princess Elise persisted for sometime after the return of the serving woman. They drank tea, nibbled at biscuits, and made pretence of ladies at leisure for all there to see. But it did not last indefinitely. Eventually there came another knock at the door of the Princess's chambers in the Silver Tower. One of the Princess's guardsmen entered into the sitting room and announced that the Lord Steward, Manawyndan, also sought an audience with Princess Elise.

"Ah, it appears the good Lord Steward has gotten word of my impromptu visit, and so quickly too. I do so wonder how?" As she finished speaking with a tone of mock incredulity she gave a throaty laugh and looked directly at the woman sat in the back of the room. "I suppose I had best be on my way then, it would be dreadfully impolite of me to keep the poor old man waiting too long."
If I were to apply for one of the tragic backstory characters, would you like said tragedy to tie into the series of unconnected murders somehow? Or would you prefer them to be unrelated?
Hey there, so I'm Sky, it's not my real name but rather just a name I'll go by through online things such as discord. I don't know how old I'm supposed to be to rp or what the appropriate age range is for roleplay so please don't yell at me or come for me for being too young. I'll get off if I need to and if it's suggested I should since I see many people being older. I'm 15, I don't participate in sexual roleplay or anything of that nature.

I think you'll find that a lot of people here started off roleplaying relatively young. I myself started on the old version of this site when I was only 13, but that was many, many moons ago now. You should be fine participating in most group RPs that take place on the site and a fair few of the 1x1s too, just stay away from anything with the 18+ tag and you should be golden. People will normally be pretty upfront if they have any issues playing with minors, and don't forget you can always just ask them if you're unclear.
I'm currently making my way through a couple of books right now!

Stephen King - On Writing
Claire Saffitz - Dessert Person (yeah yeah it's a cookbook but there's a lot of technical information in there that is very interesting :) )

What are you reading?

Stephen King's On Writing is legitimately one of the best books about writing fiction I've come across. Which is weird cos I'm not a huge fan of his fiction anymore, I used to be as a teenager, but the only one of his recent books I thought was any good was 11/12/63. But On writing and his other non-fiction on horror specifically, Danse Macabre, are both really good reads for anyone who wants to write.

I just finished reading 'We Have Always Lived in the Castle' by Shirley Jackson, the horror author of Haunting of Hill House fame. Really good dark mystery about early 20th century America, madness, poison, and witchcraft. The opening scene in particular has the most amazing depictions of complete and utter paranoia and it only gets weirder and crazier from there. The narrator is very unreliable, mentally unstable, sympathetic, and dangerous, all at the same time.

Right now I'm reading some non-fiction, 'The Common Stream' by Roland Parker, a social history of a single English village set over the course of two thousand years from the Pre-Roman Iron Age to the late 20th century. I just finished reading the Roman stuff, which is frankly a little dated and full of suppositions which my archaeologist brain was not a huge fan of. But I bought the book mainly because I was interested in its reconstruction of life under the feudal manorial system, which is based more off of surviving historical documentation, so I hope that will be somewhat better.

And you never fucking told me?

I dunno dude, it just never seemed relevant at the time. Pls forgive me.
