I'll be bringing back the spirit devourer that I submitted the last time you did an RP like this. I didn't recognise your name at first, but yeah I'll be trying to make her work again.

Kitsune

There was someone beside her, hand on her shoulder as she knelt on the ground. The voice in her ear, feminine and young, suggested it was the young woman who had been shot. “No, no I-“ She interrupted herself with a coughing fit, hacking up smoke-colour phlegm onto the gravel. “I’m fine. Just… smoke.”

Just a little toxic smoke inhalation, nothing to worry about. She would see if she could get herself checked out once the ambulances arrived, but compared to what everyone else had been through it actually wasn’t that bad; the two men she had just pulled from the fire didn’t have the same luxury of being immune to fire as her and had been subjected to the same fumes for much longer and the woman who was now showing her such concern had been shot.

The brush of cool wind against her cheek reminder her that her face was currently uncovered. Akeno stood up, knees almost buckling, and walked back to the van where she had left her mask and put it back on. The office worker and the older Asian woman had already seen her without it, couldn’t put that cat back in the bag, but she should still hide her identity from the firemen and paramedics who were about to show up.

Now back in full costume as it were, Kitsune walked back over to the young woman. “Are you okay? You said there was a gunman. Was there anyone else hurt?”
Yes, I think I have a character that is suitable for this.

I am interested.
Shun Nakano

Cocking her head to the side, Shun watched as the cat-eared girl ran away and jumped over the edge of the roof. The following thud told her that Nico had made it to the ground, albeit a little less gracefully than she would have expected from a catgirl.

“I’m not sure what just happened…” She turned her head to meet the eyes of the black feline in her arms. “But she was right. You are heavy. Geez.”

The fat cat in question wiggled indignantly in her arms and Shun stooped down to let it jump free of her grasp. Shun walked over to the edge of the roof and peered over, seeing nothing but an empty alleyway with a severely dented dumpster; no pink-haired magical girls to be found. Letting out a sigh, she turned back around and dropped into a sitting position with her back to the ledge. “Well now what am I supposed to do? You have any ideas kitty?”

Nothing.

Not even a meow.

“You know, I keep talking to you like I’m expecting you to talk back, but you never say anything. I mean, you can talk right? You’re one of those magical girl pets that’s actually some, like, advisor in disguise?” Its only response was to turn its back on her and begin licking itself. “Well, you’re either a very rude advisor or just a regular cat. Either way I think I’m just going to leave.”

Name: Narantuyagiin Bataar

Place of Origin: Mongolia

Background: In Mongolia, everyone has what is known as a Sülde; a guardian spirit. Sometimes it is an ancestor, sometimes it is even someone they knew, sometimes it is the spirit of a shaman or a lord or even a great historical figure. Everyone is watched over by a Sülde.

As a child it was discovered that Bataar’s Sülde was a great and powerful one; something that was seen as a sign that he would do great things in life. It was decided that he would train as a shaman, to learn to harness the power of his Sülde and use it to protect his people, to learn and preserve their traditions and to prepare for whatever life had in store for him.

When the call came from the Patch Tribe for shamans to help deal with a great evil, he was ready to answer it.

Guardian Spirit: The Khan; a former leader of Bataar’s clan from several hundred years past, before the Mongols could even claim to have an empire. A man of great renown and strength.

Medium: Lightning-struck drum; made from wood taken from a tree that was struck by lightning and with skin made from a horse’s skin. An important artefact in Mongolian Shamanism, the drum is said to represent the mount that carries the spirit to the shaman when invoked.

Oversoul: Bataar’s oversoul takes on the form of a giant drum held against his side; when it is summoned ethereal storm clouds float around Bataar and the drum.

Kitsune

As soon as she heard that there were people inside, Kitsune was on her feet and moving towards the building. As she approached the broken window the temperature drastically rose, the flames inside pouring out heat in waves as they grew and spread with every passing second; she hardly felt it, the perks of having a heat-related power, but anyone still inside would be suffering. It didn’t affect her though, she could run inside no problem if heat was the only issue; she was pretty sure she wouldn’t get burned even if she stepped into the flames directly. The smoke was the bigger issue; thick plumes out it exited the building and rose into the night sky, the signal that let her know to come here in the first place. It filled the interior of the building and smothered the air inside; it prevented her from getting any closer, threatening to choke her if she tried.

She hesitated, unsure of what to do. Unsure of what she could do. Calling the fire department was the obvious choice, if someone hadn’t already done so. There were no sirens approaching, none that she could hear; anyone inside would be dead by the time they arrived. It was just her. No one else around to help.

Just her.

Akeno took off her mask; it wouldn’t help her to breath and she needed the visibility. She ran back to the van and grabbed a black sweater that had been left inside by one of the abductors and began to tear it apart. Wrapping the remain around her face to try and block out the smoke, she dashed back to the building and entered.

She was blinded immediately. Even staying low to the ground, where she knew the smoke would be thinner, she could hardly see; the caustic chemicals in the air stung her eyes and made them water and visibility was reduced to a foot or two at best. She tried to calling out, but the roar of the flames was loud enough she could barely hear her own voice and all it did was draw in more air that made her cough and choke; if the co-workers responded then that too was drowned out by the noise.

All Akeno could do was crawl on hands and knees and feel around for something soft enough to be a human being; thankfully not having to worry about burning herself on anything she touched. After what felt like minutes, but was likely only seconds, her hand touched a fabric covered lump and she dragged herself over to it. Through watery eyes she could make out a face, but couldn’t tell if the person was still alive of not. Regardless, she grabbed them under the armpits and began to pull them back towards the door and out onto the street.

A few moment to breath fresh and feel the now shockingly cold night air on her skin and she went back in, spending another few agonising moments searching for the second person before her hand touched fabric again and she dragged a second person from the burning building.

She dragged them as far as she could, which probably wasn’t far enough from the building or the flames to be safe, and collapsed. Her arms and legs were shaking, her lungs burning, and she still couldn’t see.

“Is there…” she found it hard to breathe or speak through the makeshift mask, so she tore it from her face and tried again. “Is there anyone else inside?”

She could finally hear sirens in the distance.
So is it just me or is everyone waiting for a character sheet?

I'm working on something. It's slow going because I have a lot of stuff I want to research (turns out that the time period for this RP is actually pretty relevant to the shamanistic practices of the culture my character is from), but it is in progress.

The fight was over before she needed to fire another arrow. The cat-earned magical girl she was here to help used her distraction to strike at her opponent, who then decided to flee rather than stick around to deal with the two of them; well, she assumed them jumping off the building was them fleeing. The alternative was a little dark, so she hoped that’s what it was. Come to think of it, why were two magical girls fighting each other in the first place? Was that normal? Were they rivals?

For that matter, had she even helped the right person? She’d kind of just jumped into the middle of things without thinking it through, firing an arrow at the first evil-looking thing she saw; that was usually good enough. Shun hoped she hadn’t just made some kind of mistake by getting involved in this. If she had, she was blaming it on the cat.

Speaking of which…

By the time she made it to the roof where the fight had taken place, the cat that had led her to this point had already nestled itself in the other girls arms and forgotten about her entirely. Dumb feline; she saw how it was. The girl in question was undoubtedly another magical girl like herself, what with the ears and the tail and the fact she was so sparkly –shiny and pink that you could see her from space.

“Hey, nice to meet you.” Shun gave the girl a big grin and held out her hand for a handshake. “You can just call me Shun.”

The girl was younger than her, she just realised. Or at least she looked it at the moment; there was no telling what she looked like without the transformation. Her own transformation didn’t alter her appearance much other than to change her hair colour, or at least she didn’t think it did, but who knew if that was typical or not. She was still new to all of this. “Nico… Nico… Neko… oh! Croquette girl!”

@Ammokkx
Yeah, that's fine. That doesn't affect my plans much.
