I've never seen Arc-V so idk on that front

Master Rule 3, Pendulum era kind of decks. Not literally, you can use Links, but personally I aimed for the power level of a deck that would be casual in that format, with room to grow.

Pure Metalfoes with no staples, that I can add other Pend stuff to.
You have your deck list; number each individual card.
pull up google; there's a random number generator tool.
Set the parameters for random numbers from 1 to whatever the total number of your cards is (minimum range 1-40).

If you've built your deck in a simulator, then the deck builder might also have a shuffle option that will randomise your deck for you. I know Dueling Nexus does, not sure about others.

Im just trying to figure out if I should go balls to the wall and run a gamba deck or just run sky strikers...

gamba is so tempting.......

The suggested power level was Arc-V, if you're undecided.
Akeno

Earlier that day Akeno had asked one of the other runts, another reincarnated human like herself, whether they should return to the camp at all. It hadn’t been a serious query really, she hadn’t seriously been planning on running into the forest with no plan, Akeno had just wanted to see what the other Orc would say; but the idea hadn’t come from nowhere. It had crossed her mind if staying the Orc tribe, who they knew nothing about both in term of who they were individuals and what they were like as a culture, might not be more dangerous than taking their chances.

Those thoughts came up again now, as she listened to the way Shamar describe, rather solemnly, the kind of people she was now expected to share a camp with. It was… discouraged that they steal from each other or kill each other, unless they could get away with it. From the sounds of it, everyone was going to try and get away with it.

She was expected to protect her own possessions or else they would be taken; the feeling she got from Shamar was that if she didn’t do a good enough job most would see it as her own fault if she was robbed. Shelter would be respected, most of the time, but she had no shelter and no idea how to get one. Build it herself was the most likely answer, but she had no carpentry skills to speak of and no materials or tools even if she did. Even making a tent was beyond her means in both categories as well.

Which all meant that she was basically back where she had started earlier, only with aching hands and something worth stealing on her back.

Akeno turned away from Shamar’s hut and walked back towards the centre of camp. Might as well see if anything had changed while she was gone.

@Zeroth
Besides, you're focused primarily on her Extra deck when her main deck also has lots of quick-effect hand Traps and negates. Either way she'll be the top duelist among us at the start so... *shrug*

To be fair I only just noticed the 3 copies of Ash Blossom and Effect Veiler. I just saw the OG Noble Knights and moved on.

I'm not so concerned about power levels so much as I am concerned with everyone having an out to every thing. I fully expect Aile to be the strongest and Tobias to be the weakest, but having someone summon a monster that is literally unbeatable for their opponent isn't great from an RP stand point. It's not about always losing, it's about how a person loses and having duels be engaging and fun.

I don't mean to single out Randomguy here, or complain about their character being too strong; like I said, Accesscode by themselves is fine. It's specifically about not having people end up in a situation where there's nothing that they can do. I've been in Yu-Gi-Oh RPs where one person having a monster that couldn't be targeted, or even just a monster that cannot be destroyed by battle, ended up breaking things because everyone else built their decks in such a way that they couldn't do anything at that point. So you either need to remove that problem card, or have everyone else add a way to beat that card.

Balancing Yu-Gi-Oh RPs is weird.
Okay, no, but for real though. I don't mind removing them if it'll fit the RP more. I guess I'll leave it to GM @RickyG85

I'd take out Masquerena at least. Unicorn is fine by itself as a generic piece of removal, but becomes more of a problem when you can summon it on the opponent's turn. And Accesscode is still beatable despite being really strong, but gets a lot worse when it's 5300 attack and can't be destroyed by card effects; I think some people just don't have an way to beat that, or maybe it's just Double.

Zeus is mainly a problem because it's a Quick-Effect, so there's not much people can do to avoid having their entire field swept away. Plus it's super easy to summon.
Aile's extra deck is insane. Zeus, Accesscode and I:P summon Unicorn are way above everything else we have.
Kinda, I do have a character in mind, I'm just not sure what to do about the deck, honestly. I'm not sure where to begin building deck with the ruleset you've linked. I'm not sure I fully get link and XYZ

XYZ - 2 or more monsters of the same level. Monsters used for the summon become "material" that can be detached to activate effects.

Link - Use monsters equal to the Links "Link rating" to summon them. All non-Link monsters are treated as 1 for the rating, Links can be treated as either 1 or their own Link rating; e.g. 2 non-Links to make a Link-2, 3 non-Links to make a Link-3. A Link-3 plus a non-Link can make a Link-4 or a Link-2. Links can only be summoned to the Extra Monster zone or a zone pointed to by a Link monster.
well, I don't know about all of you, but I had an ok weekend! looking forward to getting started!

I'm looking forward to starting too. Are we waiting on any more players, or was it just us three?
Also, bragging rights for the first person who can identify all the original characters I reference in the original post! I like to think I made it obvious, but here's a hint:

It was only 3 of them

I mean, it was Joey, Mai and Serenity wasn't it?
