Kyle was cold, but he had on thick winter robes and a warming charm kept the coldest fingers of the winter away from him. Charms had never been Kyle's strong point, but he had of course spent his years at Hogwarts knowing that when he finished he'd be diving head first into a war. He considered himself lucky, even then, that he had finished school. Kyle pushed that thought from his mind and went back to what he was doing. What he always did when he had time, and that was stand outside on a small island in the middle of a lake and practice surviving.

He bent over and looked at the spell book, one he had nicked from a Death Eater years before. The spells ranged from terrifying to only slightly disturbing. Kyle couldn't figure out why he could never get the spells to quite work for him. He had even used Siobhan's wand once, and that had produced awful results, albeit better than anything he had done with his own wand. For the umpteenth time Kyle wondered if there was in fact something wrong with himself. He was an excellent jinxer and hexer, and while his Charms were weak they were better than this nonsense. His protego and patronous were extremely powerful. He could even turn into a Panther, but there was this range of spells that he just couldn't cast.

Kyle prepared himself mentally followed the moves carefully and was about to cast when a bell rang across the grounds. A meeting. He sighed, waved his wand and the practice stuff returned to it's storage place. The book he slid into a pocket in his cloak, but the cloak showed no signs of having any such book with it's folds. Once at the manor Kyle went straight to the Dinning room. He gave a greeting to those already inside the room before taking his usual seat.

Kyle is anything but friendly toward death eaters, but yes old habits die hard. He makes a good show of not being racist though. For him muggles are people too even if he doesn't understand them. And when it comes to muggle born and mixed he's got no issues. For him the biggest thing is proving yourself battle capable and ready to protect those that aren't. If you aren't battle capable he considers you a victim waiting to happen, which at this point is basically his opinion of non magic users, and if someone is a non magic user but can prove capable of getting around it then he's cool with them. Ie the couple of weak magic but hand to hand combat people he's fine with.

Does that make sense?

I didn't mean be obvious about it. Like leave a window open or something. *shrug* (actually don't leave a window open I don't think that'd work)

Edit: Mostly I'm saying this because Kyle sure as hell won't trust you until you've proven yourself. And if you come into the Ashes with at least a good deed as a reference than he's going to be a bit more open to the idea.

Idea: Involved in a muggle born or a blood traitor's capture. You're able to convince said person into believing you want to change sides, so you help free them and they contact Jia for you via her phone.

The only reason the charm was not secure after Dumbledore's death was because he was dead and everyone who had been told about Grimmauld Place after he died became a secret keeper. Then when Hermione apparated with the ministry worker into the zone around Grimmauld Place he was sort of told about the place.

Maybe you could be the first mission? Like you contact one of us through a weird channel. And we go to meet you ready for a fight but you're actually there alone?

PERSONALITY: Kyle comes off as dangerous. In a way he is. He sometimes will act like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders, but he doesn't belittle people for their own suffering. In most cases he won't talk about his own.

SKILLS AND TALENTS: Kyle has a near perfect eidetic memory, which comes from training. Animagus (Panther). Patrous also a Panther.

Weakness: Kyle has a need to protect. He'll always be the last to retreat to make sure everyone get's out okay. This has gotten him close to being killed a far amount of times.

WAND: Rowen, 11 2/5, stiff, pheonix feather

BIO: Kyle comes from a family of Slytherins. They all supported Voldemort from the beginning. Kyle though broke out of that cycle. His childhood had been a series of dangerous and deadly pranks to train him for a war he had wanted no part in. He learned the spell Protego before any others. Growing up in the middle of a war Kyle became hard and wary. He started collecting dark detectors and had moved out of his family's home by the time he was 16 and started training to be an Auror, once he was of age. After the attack on the office he left seeing that it was too dangerous to be against Voldemort and working in the ministry "You're too visible". He has spent the last ten years doing what he could for the Order (until they fell), he the joined The Ashes.

OTHER: Kyle considers all of his family dead. They aren't but to him they are and he has no allegiances to them.[/hider]

Mia Dubois

Name: Mia/Marcus Dubois

Age: 26

Gender: Usually female, but if she feels like it she’ll be male (prefers female pronouns unless she’s Marcus basically)

Nationality: French

Blood purity: Mixed (her mother was a half blood and her father was a muggle born wizard)

Marked: No

Appearance: Whatever she feels like, but her “I’m being Mia Dent” is a petite blonde with blue eyes, her hair normally cut chin length. If she’s being Marcus she prefers a taller, vaguely bean stalkish look, with dark blonde hair. (I’ll find some pictures later)

Personality: Mia is a pacifist. She realizes there is a need for violence to protect, but she cannot bring herself to hurt other people.

Mia is really good at disguise and loves looking different at any chance she can. Mia does understand the need for security though. She will agree upon a feature to have for the next meeting with someone.

When Mia is Marcus he is being serious. Marcus is the side of Mia that isn’t optimistic, he’s pragmatic, but still a pacifist.

Skills and Talents: Mia is a Metamorphmagus. She’s really good at disguise and teaching. Her grasp of magic is exemplary. She uses her knowledge and ability to disguise herself to travel between the homes of families with children to teach the children. Mia teaches these kids how to defend themselves against danger as well as giving them an understanding of what that danger could be.

Mia can’t cast jinxes, hexes or curses. She has learned how to use charms defensively but in a true duel she’s useless.

Wand: Mia has several wands for different disguises. Her main wand though is Unicorn hair, Hazel, Flexible, 10 inches even

Bio: Mia was raised in a mixed household that held onto the traditions of both families, be they magical or muggle. It wasn’t the best childhood, but who can say they had a perfect one. She wasn’t allowed to go to muggle school like her siblings because she was a security risk. A younger Mia was a show off, an older Mia while still excited and in love with her powers knows when it is appropriate.

Mia went to Beauxbatons, but if she had been at Hogwarts she would have been in Ravencalw her love for knowledge and understanding being her key trait. After she graduated she was thrust into a world that was hating her and those like her. She couldn’t stand it.

When Hogwarts fell three years ago Mia moved to Britain. Mia felt that someone had to help the children that didn’t get evacuated. She took some time getting to know the families and gaining their trust before they allowed her into their homes. She started shifting between houses of children that wanted to still learn from other than their parents. Mia helped as much as she could.

Until the fall of the Order, Mia worked closely with several of the members, considered a member by most of the Order. Mia herself didn’t see herself as a vigilante though and never wanted to join the Ashes.

The last couple months have made it harder and harder for her to meet with those students of hers. Even her best disguises, and code words didn’t feel safe. One day Mia was working with one of her families and they were raided. She helped get the kids out with their mother. The father and her stayed behind to keep the Death Eaters from following them. Mia, not a fighter, did what she could, but was obviously overtaken by the Death Eaters. She is currently being held at McCarthy mansion. Luther and Mia have spoken, but only briefly because Maggie (Kyle's sister) has been keeping Mia in check.

Other: Mia’s first wand broke the hazel wand is the best replacement she has found for it, but it still doesn’t feel right and the other wands are basically props.

I love older Kyle.
