"Tess is fine." Tessa told Gerard. She was used to be called a recluse by a few people. It wasn't that she was, it was just that she preferred avoiding people. "And I'm here aren't I, that's not something a recluse would do."

It took Tessa some time to soak up everything everyone was saying. It was an incredible concept. Everyone gaining superpowers because of a solar eclipse. A part of her already wanted to find out if Nina had a power, and if so what? And maybe even Petyer. The idea of the four of them... right not four. Tessa pulled her legs up to herself. Her headache started up again and then she was sprayed with water.

Katalina was at the sink. Tessa's headache lessened as she smiled at Katalina. "That's a lot of water." Katalina was waving her hands and all the water that had gotten on Tessa was now gone. "Impressive." Did she even have a power? Tessa doubted it, unless it had something to do with not getting called on by teachers... or noticed by her grandmother.

The memories of that day and how people's eyes just seemed to slide right off of her all day came to mind. It wasn't that they looked through her, it was just that they didn't notice her, as if she wasn't there. Invisible, but perfectly able to go about her day, and wear clothes thank god.

"I think I can turn invisible." Tessa finally said, her hand raised just slightly as if she were afraid to say it. Afraid that she was invisible right then and wouldn't be noticed. For the last four years she had wanted nothing more than to be invisible, and now that she had her wish she was terrified she'd disappear all together. Terrified she'd be forgotten and not even be a name for someone to read years down the road.

Tessa is amazing at just missing some show of power a part of me thinks it'd be hilarious to keep that as a running gag

Tessa was used to sympathetic looks and general avoidance, mostly because she had encouraged it the last couple of years. Today it was as if she were invisible. And that was wonderful. Whenever a teacher went to call on a student, their eyes slid right over Tessa, a sweet answer to her prayer. It wasn't that she was marked absent or anything, when her name was called for roll she said here and the teacher nodded at her a moved on. It was only when Tessa sank down into her chair and hoped to not be noticed for the complicated history question about Waterloo, how was she supposed to remember 1815? This was the best day ever.

She had a text from Jay letting her know there was a meeting for astronomy club. She was not surprised. After the eclipse yesterday there had to be a meeting. If they had known there was supposed to be an eclipse they would have had a meeting to watch it. That would have been cool.

There was also a text from Nina. Tessa could feel her eyes burn a bit as she read the message. God she hated that. Everything that Janice had touched burned with her memory. Nina was just too much. That was without the jealousy that Tessa harbored for Nina and Petyr, they still had each other. Not that she would ever want something to happen to either one of them, but how could they understand.

After a moment's deliberation she sent back "I won't be home." She was already planing on hiding out somewhere all day, probably even avoiding school if she could tomorrow. The idea of dealing with people tomorrow made Tessa's stomach cramp.

For now though she had Astronomy club with the others. This was going to be interesting. She entered the normal classroom and saw that there a few non regulars in the room, as well as a total mess of papers and coffee. Whatever she had just missed must have been interesting. Jay must have rustled up everyone he could think to have come here. She gave a smile and nod to those she was friendly with, Scout, Kat and Gerard.

Tessa turned to Jay, "I'm glad we're having this meeting. The eclipse was weird." Tessa rubbed the back of her neck it was still throbbing from the headache, another reason she was happy the teachers had ignored her all day. "Also I think the teachers finally realized how much I really just don't want to be bothered this week, not a single one of them called on me, it was glorious."
Not here, this part of the country doesn't believe in snow.

Tessa had a headache, she blamed it on having stayed up all night looking into the eclipse that had happened. It was driving her mad. There was no scientific reason as to why it should have happened. To burn some of the left over energy she worked in the shop for a bit before going to bed. Her grandmother had come in looking for but somehow Tessa's wish that she would go unnoticed came true. She had gone to bed shortly after that and her mother didn't say anything about it. A dream come true.

"Tessa," Her mother's voice cut through her thoughts. "You have an appointment tonight with the psychiatrist." Tessa resisted groaning. "Also make sure your dress is clean for tomorrow." For one blissful moment Tessa was confused, and then it clicked it was the 14th that meant tomorrow was the 15th, which meant the dreaded yearly memorial.

"I've got to go." Tessa said grabbing her backpack and bolting out the door before she had to hear anything else about it. This sucked. Why did they have to keep having that stupid memorial? It wouldn't change anything.

Tessa didn't want to think about it so she changed gears mentally and started thinking about the eclipse again. She'd have to talk with some others in the club, maybe they could have a meeting. As she neared the school she rubbed her temples trying to disperse the rest of the headache she had.
Niah Bautista

Thursday Morning

Niah had done her normal morning routine and was about to sit down to work on samples she had when her name was called over the intercom. Twice in one week, that was unheard of. She closed her laptop and made her way down to the Director's office.

Wondering what this could be about. Two of the biggest names of actively dealing with threats had been called, and her. Cassie she knew personally had worked with her before and had been saved from Shadow by her. Alex she knew more by reputation than personally. Both of them were well known for their service to Sector X as fighters. Niah had no desire to be part of a fight, and the Director knew that. She could trust that whatever her part of this mission would be she'd be safe and sound from threats.

Well as safe as one could hope to be. If the last week was any indication she could easily end up in the middle of something.

Shunting that thought to the side Niah stepped into the Director's office. She gave the woman a smile and curtsy as was Niah's customary greeting.
