More ideas are forming for this as I read the Tales of the Peculiar.

So yeah... anyone?
If anyone is curious I'd like for it to be set before the beginning of the books, so we can have weights to deal with. Alternatively I was thinking of a story from before the whole incident so the build up of unrest is what we deal with.
I'd like to explore the world of the peculiar who is with me?
A Foyer leading into the main parts of the house, it is a pleasant room with paintings of flowers adorning the walls, and an overly large grandfather clock against the wall between two doors. The door on the left leads to the dining area, and the door on the right leads to a grand ball room. The wall that separates the two can be moved, but is rarely ever moved.

From the dining area there is a bar that allows for dishes to be slid from the kitchen, as well as a swinging door that is more often than not propped open with a bucket. In the kitchen one would find at least two employees, a full time cook, unnamed and mostly unimportant, but there if anyone decides they want a late snack. Curiously enough the cook always seems to be up, or at least comes quickly at a shout. The kitchen itself offers just about any food or drink one would wish for. There are three doors in the kitchen, save the one leading to the dining hall. One leads to a large cold pantry, another outside (this door is old, and screeches loudly when opened), and the last to a small bar. The bar opens up to the side patio and back into the foyer. There are three seats at the bar itself, and then two small tables are shoved together with assorted seats of varying ages and sizes. Lena Wolf is commonly found working on her computer at these tables, sometimes Elizabeth is with her, but more often than not Elizabeth is hard to find.

The ballroom itself is decorated as if someone was obsessed with the 1920’s and forgot the intervening years happened. The best part about it is the large doors that open out to the patio allowing for the cool river breeze to blow through. Another set of sliding doors, much like the ones to the dining room, but are permanently open lead to what could only be called a music room. There is a Piano, a Harp, and some other assorted instruments. Some in much better condition than others. There is also a state of the art sound system in the music room. When the sliding doors are shut the room is perfectly set up for surround sound.

There is one other room on the first floor. An ancient parlor that seems to have only been entered by the maid in the last 20 years. It doesn’t look at all pleasant to sit in, and an obnoxious clock that chimes what could only be described as a victory march every hour on the hour tends to drive anyone that would want to use the room in the first place. The windows to the outside world in this room are sealed shut, and painted over. It might have been a pleasant room otherwise. There are several paintings and a large ornate bookshelf in the parlor. One of the paintings is of Vorace himself, a neat gold plaque declaring Vorace Lalune/May he rest in peace/The Year of the Lord 2010. Another of a younger Agatha, her face seemingly refusing to smile, there is no plaque for her painting. The final painting, a long oil painting that hangs over the mantel, is of the family. The whole family, before any tragedy. Both Agatha, and Vorace as well as their son, his wife and their son (Rene). Elizabeth is not present in the painting, but it may be assumed from the daughter-in-law’s face she would have been born shortly after the painting was made.

A large staircase leads upstairs from either side of the foyer. At the top of the stairs one can turn left or right. To the right, over the ballroom and parlor side of the building, the group will find their names on a door. There are exactly four doors, each plaque appears to be handwritten calligraphy.

To the left are more doors, but those belong to the family, and seem to be locked.

There is another staircase leading up, into an attic, which for now is off limits.

A staircase in the bar leads to the basement where the family’s wine collection is stored. There is also a rec room that may be used for future story, but for now know that it seems to be one of the most modern rooms in the house, as it appears to have been renovated in the 90’s and then forgotten.
Posted for both of my nerds. If anyone would care to reply to Kyle they may (doesn't even have to be Siobhan).
Also for my own personal entertainment I am going to say Kyle's French is a bit off, maybe a different dialect and holds him in some awkward places later, he is by no means fluent, though he could hold a conversation (as long as it is in the correct dialect).
Kyle

Kyle didn't have any issues with the port-key. It wasn't his first one, so he was one of the few standing. His French was good enough, but Will had already stepped up that Kyle didn't bother helping.

He was however distracted as the group followed the bellhop and therefore ran right into Mary, who looked like she was about to topple over on her own. He held her elbow for a moment as she regained her balance, she didn't even seem to notice, which worried him. Had the portkey bothered her that much?

Then they were dividing rooms, a brief exchange with Darren and Siobhan, one that made Kyle briefly hopeful that he and Siobhan would get to share a room. Siobhan turned Darren down though leaving Kyle to room with Darren. Kyle didn't mind Darren in the slightest, despite him being a Gryffindor. Mostly it had to do with how he had treated Siobhan in the last year. Darren was nice enough though.

"I was here once..." Kyle trailed off. "I was very little mind you, maybe three years old. All I really remember was looking up at the light filled jars." He gave a small shrug. It was so long ago. Before all the terrible things happened, hell's bells he was certain he and Maggie were on good terms even. Of course good terms was a relative term, he was fairly certain she hadn't tried to kill him yet.

"But yes I am a pureblood." There was a hint of contempt at the phrase, and Darren would most likely either pick up on it, or have learned through rumors in the years at Hogwarts how little Kyle cared for that term and all that came with it. Kyle was quiet a moment longer. "Now if I recall there is a place you might find of great interest." Kyle flashed a bright smile at Darren, one slightly forced giving it a painful quality. "It is across the street and down a set of stairs." There was a passage in a guide Kyle had read about a bar that was quite popular.

"I on the other hand am going to go check out the tower. I want to see if three year old me's memory stands up." He pulled a knapsack out of his trunk, which was no normal sized, and started right back out of the room. He paused for a moment outside of Siobhan's room, before knocking. "I am going to go explore the square want to join me?" It was better to get a no from her than to not offer and her indignant later.

Okay a post is up. My goal is to get house details up Sunday, since I have most of the day off. For now though please enjoy the meal that is laid out for you, consider anything that would a "light" dinner available (fruits, veggies, salad, some lighter meats, bread, coffee), and several different types of wine (all Lalune manufactured).

For your information as well, you do not see Elizabeth yet. Felix is of course there and pouring drinks. Your luggage has been taken care of and is being transported to your rooms. Details for said rooms will be provided within the next few days, no more than a week. If you have any questions feel free to PM myself or TM99.

Edit: Look I had a productive day doing nothing at work, even though I was sitting at work. So yeah. Basic building descriptions of the inside. Rooms coming soon.
It was nearing on 5pm when the last two joined their party. The group now consisted of two females and two males, oddly perfectly split, maybe it was intentional or maybe that was just who won the award this year. The four sitting in the much-too-large-for-just-them-limo certainly didn't have answers to those questions. It turned out that Maddie had almost missed her flight, well would have had it not been a private plane waiting for her, due to some communication error, a wrong turn and an accident (that she thankfully had not been involved in by only one car). The new-comer gentleman, one Gregory Round, it seemed had had similar troubles, but instead of a wrong turn the miscommunication ended him up at the entirely wrong airport where he had to catch another cab to make it to the correct airport.

Enough words were shared between the nervous four to communicate each of their interest in the whole affair, but failed to get across any actual information save for basic introductions as each saw necessary. The rest of the limo ride were met with silence, for each their own reasons.

Upon arrival the vineyard stretched out on rolling hills as far as they could see, the setting sun giving just enough last shreds of light to allow the group to see how lovely their retreat location was. The limo went up a long drive until stopping smoothly outside a beautiful manor. As if alerted of their presence three people stepped out onto the porch. The first was a dapper man of about 30 years of age. Anyone who had looked up the family before arriving would recognize the man as the grandson and heir to the Lalune fortune, Rene Lalune. Behind him stepped a beautiful woman, with dark hair that ran most of the way down her back. The two were engaged to be married, though no date had been officially announced. From the shadow of the door finally stepped an elderly woman, leaning heavily upon a cane, the matron of the family, Agatha Lalune. She was the widow of the late Vorace Lalune.

The doors to the limo opened and hands were offered to the ladies to help them out of the limo.

"Welcome to Chateau De Lalune." Agatha spoke with a clear, but heavily accented voice. "You all must be tired, come in and rest. Have something to eat. Tonight is for relaxing. Traveling always makes one quite tired."

The group was led inside the mansion and into a dinning area where several options were laid out for the group to choose from.
Mary

She'd rather side-along apparate. She'd rather learn how to apparate, anything than ever taking a port-key ever again. In fact, Mary thought to herself as she re-acquainted herself with standing upright, Mary would much rather prefer taking a broom anywhere. Cross country, cross oceans, anything to never suffer going through that again. She looked green, and felt more of a chartreuse than she had ever thought it could be possible.

For the most part she wasn't even aware that someone had appeared, and spoke to the group. Let alone that he had disappeared after she had blindly followed the group up to their rooms. She of course ran into her cousin, not because she had been following too closely, but because she had failed to realize she was even moving. Not that when she stopped moving did she feel like she wasn't moving. It was all a blur. A rather gut wrenching blur.

Out of habit she followed Elise into the room, as soon as her brain recognized that there was furniture she could collapse on she took full advantage of it.

It took her several moments of deep breaths to realize Elise had spoken, and was expecting an answer. "Sorry." Mary mumbled and asked for Elise to repeat herself. "Excited yes, off definitely." Mary responded wondering were the loo was in case of need to hurl, though she suspected at this point the need was past. "Can I never do that again?" She pulled herself up onto her elbow and looked at her cousin. "It was as bad as apparating." Mary wrinkled her nose in disgust, "And I'd rather never do that again either."

"Since we're only here a week you can work on your French, but we're going a lot of places that don't speak English as their first language." Mary gave a small shrug. She had worked on her French and it was good enough to order food, find the bathroom, the hotel, transportation, and emergency services. The last being something her father had been rather adamant about her learning.

Now that the sensation from the portkey was starting to wear off Mary wanted to explore, and maybe drink something to help calm her stomach. Tea would be nice. "Do you want to see if we can find a place that serves tea? It'd be easy to order it through the hotel, but I'd rather explore a bit, now that I can feel my legs again."
I will be posting tomorrow, for one or both of my characters. Probably at least Mary. Most likely also Kyle by I make no promises since I left my laptop at work I have to go in extra early to write at least 2 posts :)

Moving forward!
