"Well maybe if you had contributed you could have joined us in getting tossed around, or I don't know maybe Jack wouldn't have been taken." Rose snapped at Taylor. Taylor and Rosalia were frustrating. They had stood by and done nothing. She retrieved her bow and stepped over to Sierra.

"Are you okay?" She asked her friend. Co-worker was definitely not a good description for them anymore. Even though they had always been on the friendly side. Now a bit of Rose felt that Sierra had her back and so she would have hers. She looked up and nodded. "I'll get your things too Sierra. Put some ice on the bigger sore spots." Rose said before heading up to the rooms and gathering their personal belongings. It wasn't a lot. But it was all they had. She understood why homeless people always carried around so much. The risk of losing anything felt so high.

As she got their things she thought about what Rumpel had said. He wanted to talk with his son. Jack was his son. She frowned. It wasn't the first kid in the group that was the child of a villain. There was the girl who had been with Maleficent. She had been one of the kids that Merlin had brought to Nebraska too.

"Ouch. You're just jealous." Colby said rubbing his ear. With the news that Jack had been taken by Rumpel, his hand dropped though. "The birds were a distraction." Colby said. It was sort of relieving to know that. It meant that they hadn't been targeted. They didn't have an unknown enemy out there. Instead, there was a known enemy. One that Merlin had been fighting for a while.

"Let's go." Maddie and he had their stuff already, rescued from the room. No one had gotten a chance to clean up though so half the group smelled bad. Colby had his cat climb upon his shoulder with a tap, it was a trained trick that came in super handy. Colby had always been good at getting cats to do what he wanted.

He joined the others downstairs waiting for everyone else to get their things so they could leave. His back slung over his free shoulder. He watched as Rose came back down a look of deep thought on her face as she handed Sierra her things.

Niah took the pills Bonnie gave her with a deep swig of water. It would take a bit but once the pain went down she'd feel better and be able to think more clearly. The day before she had been too loopy to really think everything through. It felt like pieces were missing. Like a whole lot of travel time from London to New Jersey.

She filled a bowl with cereal and milk and started mulling over everything. Anything she could think of since Christmas eve. She wished Novi or her sister were there suddenly. That one of them could fit a missing piece of the puzzle. Whatever it was - Her brain paused. Goose. The alien cat. The alien cat with a long life knew about the postcard that Niah had written. The very precise wording Fury just used.

She glanced to Raynor. Was Fury telling the truth? Raynor didn't seem suddenly more suspicious of Fury. Didn't seem like he was hearing a lie. Fury told the truth, but he had been super careful about his words. Niah wasn't entirely certain what it meant, but she wasn't going to forget it.

Matt sipped his coffee and listened. He was interested in what Fury said that he had allowed himself to be fired so he could get the group that was sitting here together. He knew that Fury had formed the Secret Warriors group. But Phase Three itself had been a Hydra project. It was odd that they had chosen the people they had. And all that was left of the original group on the team was Niah, Sparky, Cass, and Maria if she was still alive. It seemed...extreme.

He turned to face Oliver as he was asked to give the debrief. Oliver had been with SHIELD long enough to have worked for Fury. Only Kwassi was a new recruit for SHIELD. Fury knew Dr. Larson, clearly, there was history there. Older than anyone had been aware. He narrowed his eyes. Fury's words had been carefully chosen so he didn't lie. How long had he known about the Skrull threat?

It was relieving to hear that Veil was alive and okay. That meant they had a chance. She was the leader, right? So with her, they could get them out. Andy wanted out of there. She had never been claustrophobic. But she needed to know there were exits. Needed to know there was a way out of the situation she was in. Without the group, there was no way out. Though if she hadn't been with them she wouldn't have gotten into the situation in the first place.

Andy switched Veil's phone on speaker, per Callie's instructions. "Yeah, you're on speaker now." She said. Andy waited for instructions not wanting to risk pulling the wrong rock again. An opening appeared and she almost started crying in relief. Instead, she grabbed Stareyes and tried to drag her. Andy didn't have a lot of strength. Most of her skill was in punching the right spot or kicking it. That required different muscles than pulling. Also, Stareyes was literally a block of ice at the moment making her pure dead weight.

"I can't get her." She said, her voice strained with trying to pull the older girl. She gave up and climbed through the hole out of the collapsed area making room for someone who could carry Stareyes to safety.

Ed was confused. Weren't they suppose to be trying to talk their way out of this? Why had Pietro snapped like that? He could feel the gas starting to make him pass out and didn't know what he could hope to accomplish. Among the group, almost all had done something to incriminate themselves. Forget being in an area that was forbidden for some reason. Now they had attacking and killing space cops on whatever rap sheet space had.

"Listen we were just trying to find someone. Our friend died right before you guys boarded. Everyone is freaked out right now. Please, this is all a misunderstanding." Why had they attacked Nova Corps? What had they been thinking. Ed couldn't allow himself to pass out. He touched his chest and sent healing magic into his lungs hoping it would keep him from falling asleep. If they fell asleep that'd be the end. They'd end up in jail and there would be no way out of it, because they were guilty of attacking the damn space cops.

It was working. He could feel the fog of sleepiness start to lift. He sighed relieved and realized his mistake. He couldn't hold his breath. The air was saturated. Darkness started to form in his vision and he knelt down. "Don't hurt them." His voice quiet.

More Harpies were attacking them. Her brother was off trying to get Nancy and Jason out of the grips of other ones. There were so many enemies. It was overwhelming. Then rockets were going off, and she didn't know what it meant. Andy could guess though. They needed to get back to the Argo III.

She held out her hand, blood dripping from her cuts. Electricity flashed around her. Hitting several of the Harpies. Clearing the way for them to get back to the ship. "Back to the ship Gryf!" They were being overwhelmed. She wondered if the rockets were declaring retreat. Gryf turned and got them back to the Argo III.

Em returned Waverly's hug. "No way I'm letting two Probatio fight a Giant alone." Emily herself was only a Legionnaire, which was by design. She had never wanted to raise in ranks any higher. This was the station she was happy at.

Marco's face appeared. It was one of those Iris messages that the Greeks used since she had his compact. "I'm okay Marco. Evacuate. I'm not in the sewers anymore. Ariadne appeared. We've got a task here to deal with." She couldn't say the words that she had stepped into the Labyrinth. But she knew that Marco would understand. "I've got the compact. I'll contact you as soon as I can. I love you."

She didn't want it to sound like a final goodbye but it felt like it was. Em was thankful she had kissed him before he had ridden the Dragon-Demi off to the battle. Thankful he was okay and still alive.

"New Rome has fallen." She said to the others. "Let us complete the task before us in defiance of what has destroyed our home." She was angry. Her home for the last five years was gone. She was supposed to be able to leave here and go about her life, not carry the burden that so many had died. "Lead the way Ariadne."

They were being overwhelmed. New Rome could not stand against this. Niah's chest tightened. The rockets went off. Signaling the retreat. The battle had been lost. Did Mads still have the cyrstal? Had they been able to protect Terminus? Would he retreat? So many questions.

"We have to cover the retreat. We've lost." Niah said. Her voice cracking. The right decision had been made though. The retreat was the only option. Hopefully, the important things were still safe. Maybe someday they could come back here and rebuild. Maybe. Niah started to lay down covering fire for the retreating soldiers.

Rose wondered why their house had caught fire, and what the wolf had been protecting her from. Or maybe it was that the wolf had been growling at her mom. She had said 'we' who was the other half of that? As Rose went to follow her mom up the stairs the door opened, she turned around. The tension in the room ratched it up when a man walked in.

He set off the alarm bells in her head. Her hands went to her bow. She darted a look at Jack. The cop looked confused and worried. Who was this man? Was he Jack's dad? If so...their reunion was not going as well as Rose's had gone with Red. She didn't draw her bow, but she was ready.

Havok's explanation made sense. Casper had seemed super unhinged, but if he could see a ghost that explained it. She shivered at the idea...and the snow. Andy had had way too many nightmares of the ghosts in her past she hated that this meant ghosts were real. Her stomach twisted and she tried to pace.

Andy couldn't really pace. The space was too small and too unstable. She also couldn't shake her leg. Her two main nervous habits. She could only listen through the phone. Her lifeline to what was happening on the other side of the rubble. Extraction was happening. They were getting Veil out first, which was good. She was okay with that.

She wished she could help. Wished there was anything she could do, but so far all she had done was make it worse. She could have killed them all if she hadn't gotten the debris that she had tried to move back in place fast enough. There was some irony that Stareyes was the safest since she was a frozen block at the moment.

Could he have used his shield as a fire suppression? Ed didn't know. He hadn't time to think about it. To react. To do anything. Iris was dead. He focused, closing his eyes for a moment. Another person is gone. He hadn't considered a friend. He hadn't gotten close. Hadn't allowed it. This reinforced it. Built another wall. Slammed down between him and the group. Death could come for them at any moment.

He took a slow deep breath and then focused his magic onto his arm. He knew he had to look like an ass. Not reacting to Iris' death. He thought of Mira and wondered what she would think when she found out what happened. They had to focus on the task at hand though. They were about to be arrested for a crime they hadn't known they were committing. They still had to find Dr. Banner. Could they talk their way out of the arrest and continue or would this be drawn out?

Orange light surrounded his arm weakly. His burn soothed, but it was still there. Hopefully, it would keep it from getting an infection at least. Ed knew that was the best that could be done for now.

Niah was in pain. She also understood the phantom itch thing now, which was super irritating. The silliness of the drugs had worn off. But a part of her that had broken when the bear had almost killed her was more carefree than she had been in years. She was in a better mood than she had been since before joining Phase Three even.

She smiled at Bonnie. "It feels like my leg is on fire a bit. And my foot itches, but I suppose I'll get used to that." She smiled. "I trust your judgement. I'd rather not be punch drunk silly again though." She followed Bonnie out carefully to the set-up table outside. She raised an eyebrow at Fury being there. Remembering her fear of him being an imposter long before they knew about Skrulls. But Goose was content with him so he had to be himself. He couldn't be an LMD or a Skrull. Goose wouldn't have allowed it. So any tightening in her chest went away immediately.

"Good morning Fury. Pleasure seeing you again." She smiled at him. Her eyes scanning the rest of the group. Many she had met, some wouldn't remember meeting her. Like Spiderman. She hadn't met the Black Panther, but she had met his sister, which reminded Niah that Kwassi had said he was from Wakanda. And even though the thought of Wakanda brought so much pain to Niah she was still smiling.

Matt hadn't minded sleeping on the floor. He had definitely slept in weird and harder-to-sleep places. "Morning dear." He said kissing Cass good morning before following her outside to join the others. He went for a cup of coffee first. His routine normally included a workout before coffee but he needed the extra jolt of energy for the conversation they were bound to have.

He had not been with the Secret Warriors while Fury had been in charge, though he had been part of SHIELD. He was surprised that he was in Barton's super-secret place. But no one seemed to be bothered by it. Matt took a seat leaving an empty spot next to him for Cass. There was going to be another round of introductions he thought. He knew most everyone at the table by reputation, but not everyone.

For a moment Andy was happy that the dragon that she had killed wasn't going to crush any demi-gods below. But that quickly changed to horror as the zombie-dragon started attacking them. She gave a small sigh of relief. "It is okay. He didn't get us. Maybe start with smaller things first?" She offered some advice. Dragons didn't seem like a good place to start trying to learn how to raise and control the dead.

Andy tried to calm Gryf down, but he seemed extra pissed with the damage he had taken. He even hissed at her. "Sorry Gryf. I promise I'll clean it up and put bandages on it for you." She felt bad that he had gotten hurt trying to help her.

She turned her attention to the creatures around them. Her best attack was lighting. It had good range and tended to murder most things easily enough. She hit two harpies with it and watched them fall from the sky. Those hitting a demi-god unfortunate enough to be under it when it fell would be less likely to kill them at least. She sent out another blast but winced as she realized it was another Gryphon. She felt bad about hurting Gryphons now. In the long run that was stupid, especially since she probably only pissed the creature off. It didn't die.

"See if you can keep the creatures that get too close away. I'll go for the farther away ones." Andy offered advice to Arthur. If he could keep Gryph from being attacked again that'd keep them in the air. She didn't want to fall to her death because Gryph was hurt.

As much as Em hated the idea of it she was going to have to enter the Labrythin. It was like walking through sludge mentally. Thankfully with Ariadne there, it wasn't as bad as it would have been. She shook off the feeling. "Alright. I'm here to help then." Three demi-gods and a goddess. They could fight a titan...hopefully. Of course, all the demi-gods were Fifth Cohort so it wasn't Rome's best people.

She turned to face the hole they had come through. Em didn't know if the monsters could use it to get into New Rome and she didn't want to take the chance so she tried to get her plants to grow and cover the hole up. "Sean, forgive me I have failed to keep track of everyone in the Cohorts skill levels, but how are you with weapons?" She was good with a sword, and they had Waves' magic. They needed a plan.

Niah had a simple task. Destroy anything that didn't belong in her home. There was a lot of that. Siege weapons were one of her favorite tools too. She had spent a whole year working on learning how to operate all the ones New Rome had on hand and had become quite good at the War Games with them.

Her demi-god skills didn't lend to being great at fighting. Because of that, she had made an effort to be good at physical fighting, and tactics. She took a look at the field and what monsters were attacking. Taking out the ones in the air was their best option. It was a lot harder for those on the ground to fight in the air. She did see that the kids were riding on the back of a Gryphon. It must be friendly so she wouldn't hit that one.

Niah aimed at Harpy and missed. She really disliked Harpies. Hated might even be accurate. She had nearly been killed by one once when they pulled her off a rock wall she had been climbing to get to the Dragon's lair. The same lair they had gotten the gem they were fighting to protect from. Niah shook the memory away and focused.

She took three more shots. In the processing taking out two of the other Gryphons completely and injuring a third. It was a good amount of work, but there were so many monsters she had no idea if it would help turn the tids. She had to keep trying.
