Much like Bonnie Niah's medical knowledge started with dead bodies, it also ended there. And usually then involved finding a bug or something on the body to tell her how long it had been dead. She hadn't worked with those in a while. Since she had joined SHIELD actually. But those black spots would be hard to miss even if she had never seen a dead body. A potential cause of death. But the gut-wrenching fear that would have come with that before didn't happen. She had faced her death and had accepted it. Everything after the fight with the bear was extra time.

She looked at Raynor and frowned. "I know I was pretty high yesterday, but I wasn't joking when I said it was a demon bear." She closed her eyes thinking about the incident. She hadn't really digested everything that had happened. "It fed on fear. It wasn't until I had come to accept that I was going to die and that that was okay because I was proud of what I had done with my life that it stopped. Just disappeared and everything went back to normal." That wasn't everything that had happened, and she wasn't certain if she would ever tell anyone what all had happened in that fight.

"Well Radish it has been a pleasure." Matt said giving the kitten some chin scratches. "We might not use them for the alien invasion, but I think leaving baby flerken eggs at a Missouri animal shelter might be criminally dangerous." He wondered how no one seemed to know about flerkens if they were that common. "We have ZuZu there, let's gett these two and their eggs out of here too. How many do you think we'll need for the mission?" If two were enough that'd be good. If they needed more they'd have to find another animal shelter.

"Hey um Mar-Vell what do they do with the males then? Or do they just reproduce?" There wasn't a class offered at SHIELD for alien biology and he was wondering why not. Though he wouldn't have taken a class like that in his college days. He was certainly curious enough to want to take the class now though. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too science-heavy. "If there are males they might be around still?" He said, ending more on a questioning note because really he had no clue how flerkens reproduced or acted socially.

It was jarring. Most of the group could at least find comfort in each other. Andy barely knew them. She wrapped her arms around her legs curling up. Her muscles hurt in a way they never had before. Even when she had been training for boxing. She looked over at Zari wanting to comfort her. "Zari, it'll be okay." She tried to say reassuringly, trying to reach back to the conversation they had had just before they had gone looking for the bombs. It had all been so fast.

Five months had passed! Her mind did the quick mental math. "What is the date?" She had had plans for her birthday. She had wanted to find a boxing ring and box to her heart's content. If it was past her birthday...Well, maybe she could still do it. But it wouldn't be like the previous year. The year she had had the best birthday ever. Her jacket was gone too. She really hoped that these guys had her clothing. For all of that to have happened she didn't want to lose her jacket this way. And god she wanted a coffee despite not having had in for the longest time in her life since she had started drinking it.

That was fair Ed tried to tell himself. If the others could be found faster then that was ideal. They were only missing Annie, Beth, and Runa at least. He knew Beth and Runa could take care of themselves quite handly. If his spell was working right the three of them seemed to be together so that was good.

He continued to follow the path that his compass gave him as best he could. The disadvantage of how the spell worked was it gave a direct line. If he need to make turns those would have to be made with the hopes that he'd be able to turn back the direction he needed to go. On Earth he usually used google maps as well to help, but space didn't have google maps. Unless talking raccoons counted.

Andy snickered at Lauryn's whispered secret. That explained why her brother had been so happy lately. Andy didn't know much about love. She knew stories about it though. People who were in love were happy. "I'm surprised you think I'm going to keep Arthur out of trouble. I feel like it'd probably be the other way around." Andy said. She was, of the pair of them, more likely to run into a situation without thinking it through. Arthur, while slower to act, at least thought about the consequences before following after Andy into whatever danger she was getting herself into.

"I don't think snowmen building will be too dangerous of a sport anyway. I've definitely hurt myself worse on the climbing wall than I could making snowmen." Andy didn't bother fixing her hair. It was in a perpetual state of disarray so there was no point trying. She finished her food. Waved at her aunt who was sitting with the other Romans, and took Arthur's hand leading him off to find a good spot of thick fresh snow they could use.

Niah took a bite of her food thinking. "I don't think you need to sleep with the rest of the Legion. Everyone is used to you all being in your own bungalow anyway. My rank doesn't give me that luxury though." She explained. She was fine with not having the luxury. Mads turned the conversation away from sleeping arrangements to the War Games. She nodded at Zeke as he came over to speak with Nancy. She didn't care for him but that was a her problem. Especially since Nancy and he seemed close as half-siblings.

"Oh, I like that idea a lot. I can use the armor to my advantage for the team on the ground." She said, trying not to interpret Zeke and Nancy's conversation. Her mind started running over scenarios. They actually would want to have the attacking team be at the disadvantage because the ship would be such a big advantage it wouldn't be a fair fight otherwise. Though it would be good for the Romans to get better at areal assault. They might be using it to take back New Rome.

Rose was glad that she knew who her mom was and that she was a good person. Rose didn't have to worry about being kidnapped by her parents at least. She smiled over at Red. Then watched as Merlin did the tracking spell. She didn't know much about magic other than the stuff she had read in books and what Merlin said sounded like a bunch of gibberish words. She supposed that was reasonable.

However, Merlin had found where Jack was. They'd have to walk a day to get there, but that wasn't bad. Walking was fine by her, she could hike all day without issue. She figured she might see how much her mom knew about the local flora and fauna and ask questions as they walked. Maybe find out who her dad was too. She supposed there was a possibility that her dad was evil, but she didn't know if Red was the type to date the bad boys. She smiled a bit at the idea of it. And adjusted her bag. "I'm ready. Though, water is a good point. We need supplies for a walk that long."

Colby pulled out his own deck of cards and handed it to Maddie. "Good idea. Though I'd rather we not get separated." He said honestly. And put Maddies' deck of cards into his bag. "Maybe the spell is already in that book you found." Colby suggested. His face still felt a bit warm from where Maddie's lips had kissed his cheek and he liked the sensation a lot.

For everything that was stupid and annoying about dealing with this stuff at least, he got to do it with Maddie. "It probably helps that we are from the same story, we probably won't get split up." He said, mostly thinking out loud. He sighed and stood up when Merlin said he had Jack's location. He had hoped he'd be able to rest a while longer.

"I've read some of the Star Wars books back in college." Niah smiled at Spiderman. "It is a good universe." She leaned back in her chair. "Do you want to look at Cass's eye socket first or my leg?" Her question was answered though when Bonnie said she wanted to clean the socket right before Sparky finished the eye for Cass. So she nodded and got out of the chair and upon the table.

"Sparky when do you want to look at the chair?" She asked reaching over and thinking it back to the robotic leg that it had been when Dr. Larson first gave it to her. "Leg." She corrected holding it up. She resisted a Mrs. Nesbet joke, it wouldn't really work since it was a leg she decided.

Matt frowned at the name of the shelter. He did not like places in the world that were blatantly bigoted like that. Chances were if a place was racist they'd also be transphobic. He was uncomfortable. He had a feeling that several of the members of the group were also uncomfortable as well. He sighed and entered the animal shelter after the others.

In the cat section of the shelter, there were a bunch of cats. He picked a random cat and offered his fingers for scratches to it. "Hey there cutie. Are you a flerken and willing to help us find a bunch of aliens trying to take over the world?" He said quietly to the cat. He liked animals and thought of a cat he had growing up. It had lived outdoors mostly but it would sunbathe in his yard a lot and he would pet and feed it.

The cat in the kennel came forward and sniffed at Matt's fingers before rubbing against them. "Aww you're a sweetie. If I didn't live the life I live I'd adopt you even if you weren't a flerken. But I probably would not be a great parent right now. I should wait till I leave this line of work."

Everything hurt. Andy knew what being in a burning building was like and this was very similar. She could hear Casper talking, which meant he was still alive. Her experience with Casper was he basically never stopped talking. She turned onto her side and curled up not opening her eyes right away. The pain had subsided but she hurt in her heart. She had hoped she would die. She had hoped that she'd be joining her parents.

Andy took a deep shaky breath and sat up. She opened her eyes. She hadn't ever been afraid of losing a sense but as she opened her eyes and everything was super blurry. Andy resisted crying out. She gripped the sheets of the bed listening. Trying to pick out everyone's voices. She wanted to make sure everyone was okay.

Ed snorted under his breath at Guin's comment. He kept his eye on the compass and the path they were taking. It was good that the central area seemed to be in the right direction at least. That was good. If the group all gathered there naturally it would make finding the group easier.

He wasn't certain how felt about the talking tree wanting to stick with the group. Was it because Mary understood him? Was the tree happy that there was someone else out there that understood him. Ed understood with a flash of clarity why Mary understood Groot. It was because she had the plant ability. That suddenly made more sense.

Rose didn't get winded easily. She was used to hiking, not running, but she was in good shape. When they got to the tower it did take her a minute to catch her breath even still. Maybe running would be good to add to her normal routine. A run in the woods would be nice, as long as she was on a trail that was safe without any tripping hazards.

At the tower when Merlin asked if Megan had anything of Jack's Rose was surprised Megan didn't murder Merlin right there, or Colby considering how much she seemed to hate him. Not that Rose didn't blame people for hating Colby. He made himself to be very punchable. "We'll get him back." Rose said reassuringly to Megan. She had faith in Merlin. He had kept the lot of them under his watchful eye for years.

"No it's fine. Just winded." He smiled at Maddie's touch, and reached up brushing his fingers on his hand. "I didn't grab his stuff, but Megan might have. If she had the presence of mind for it." He wouldn't blame her if she didn't have it. He wouldn't have at the moment. If Maddie were kidnapped like that he'd be freaking out too. He ignored her glare.

Colby sighed heavily though as everyone took off in a run. He couldn't run, especially that far, but he jogged. Keeping his pace as even as possible. When they got to the tower he sat down leaning against it on the outside. He had had his fill of inside places. And though he knew Merlin had safeguards up, it felt right to keep an eye out on the road where anyone could just wander upon the tower. Hopefully, they wouldn't be going through the tunnels again.

His cat climbed off his shoulder and settled into the space between his chest and knees and starting purring. That was reassuring. It was like a reminder that things were real and not some weird dream.

"You're a cool kid, you can sit with us." Andy smiled at her brother. "You should definitely join us for making a snowman!" Andy said excitedly when Arthur suggested he join them. A part of her wanted to see if her Aunt was free too. She figured Madalyne wouldn't be though. She was busy making sure the Roman camp was taken care of. Though the two had been spending time together with Madalyne teaching her how to do magic.

She had an idea though for when they were building the snowman. She wondered if she could test her magic out on it and get snowballs to fly. Her smile broadened at the idea of it. Practically bouncing out of her chair, and shoving her food into her mouth trying to finish faster so they could go play faster.

"I think Joanie is adorable just the way she is." Niah said. Following the pair of them out of the cohort tent to the dining area they had set up. "I don't know." Niah said frowning. As much as she wanted to be out of the cohort tent there was no way that would be fair.

"I don't think is very fair. Back home I'd be with my cohort. It isn't the tent or the people." She sighed. It was where they were more than the sleeping situation she was in. "I appreciate the thought though." Niah didn't want to cause more tension in the camp. She really did appreciate the thought though. And part of her really wanted to take up the offer. It would be like a sleepover with her best friends. She smiled at the thought. "Maybe one or two nights like a sleepover." She asked. She sat down her plate filling with cheesy eggs and ham. Her glass filling with orange juice.
