My bad. I forgot about the taboo. I will fix that before I disappear for the weekend. Sorry y'all. I will keep it in mind for later.
Hey everyone,

Just a heads up. I'll be out of town this weekend. I will only have my tablet with me so I really won't be posting much. I might pop in every once in a while to check on things, but nothing big this weekend. If you really need to ask me something, for some reason, you can poke @Kirah. She knows how to get a hold of me. I will be back late Monday, Tuesday for sure.

I am loving everyone's posts so far and can't wait to see more! Woo!

Stella and Tobias

6:45 AM Dining Hall

@Saltwater Thief

So, once again Stella had bumped into an upper classman. Again. She had rotten luck sometimes. "Oh gosh! I am so sorry about that!" She said, a little bit flustered. She was embarrassed that she had just run into such a rather cute looking guy. However, she was a lowly freshman, so she expected a brush off or something.

"Hmm?" The upperclassman replied as he looked up from his scribblings and looked about to find the source of the impact. His eyes, resting over a foot above her own, swept right over her head at first. After a short time, however, he looked down and saw Stella, who had collided with him. "Here it comes," she thought, "he's about to brush me aside like nothing..."

"Ah, there you are," he said in a noticeably heavy English accent, "Everything alright? You didn't hurt yourself, did you?"

Stella blinked and was silent. He wasn't giving her the brush off. "Ah... uh..." She stammered for a moment, pulling her thoughts together. He was cute, and had a lovely accent. "I'm fine, thanks. I didn't hurt you did I?" She said, looking up at him. He was considerably taller than her, since she was only five feet even, but he had taken the time to notice her.

The older boy blinked a few times, like he was slightly perplexed by her response. "Not at all," he finally said, "you're the one that'd get any bumps or bruised from it. It's more my fault besides, should've watched where I was walking." He shook his head somewhat quickly, then folded his notebook closed and looked her in the eye. He smiled as he said "So, what's your name? Mine's Tobias."

"I'm Stella, Stella Herbalem. May I ask where you are from Tobias? I've never heard an accent quite like yours before. Also, I wasn't paying attention either. I was looking at my schedule," she said, holding up the piece of paper. It had some notes on it, but Tobias didn't get to see it much longer before she tucked it in her notebook. "Also, have you been here at this school long? I haven't really met many upper classmen yet," she said.

"Oh, I'm from just 'cross the Pond," he answered very matter of factly, "Oh, uh, that's what we Brits call the Atlantic. My family lives near Manchester." He scratched his head as she asked about his length of attendance. "And actually, I just transferred in as a Junior this year, so I've met about as many of them as yourself, Stella. In fact..." he stopped talking for a moment as he looked about, "I, uh... I seem to be a tiny bit turned around. I don't suppose you've got an idea where the football field is around here?"

"I just got here yesterday... and uh I don't know where it is, sorry. But I do have the school map they gave with the packet, if that will help you," she said, pulling an already well worn map out of her notebook. She traced over the map a bit, paused, and then pointed her finger to the soccer pitch. "Is this what you're looking for Tobias?" She asked. At that moment her stomach let out a small growl, reminding her she had not eaten yet. She blushed at that. "Excuse me for that."

"Sure is," he said as his eyes followed her finger across the surface of the map to the large green area off to one side of the campus. When the tiny rumbling sound came from her stomach, he rotated his head slightly to look at her again. He chuckled slightly at the noise, then gave her a light pat on the back. "Sounds like you need some breakfast. What do you say we go get you a plate, hmm? Some eggs and bacon maybe?"

"That sounds lovely," she said, still red as a tomato. She was sure at this point he was going to wander off when she went to get food, however was pleasantly surprised as he joined her in getting breakfast. She paused for a moment. "Uh... would you like to sit together? I mean, since neither of us really knows any of our classmates yet," she said, sort of fading away at then end. This wasn't like her. She was use to talking to all sorts of people but now she was stammering and whispering like a fool. Was it because he was older? Was it the accent? She didn't know.

"I think that'd be nice," he replied. In little time at all they were both walking toward a table and sitting down, with him sitting opposite her. "So, Stella," he began to ask after a short period of nothing but chewing and scrapping of utensils, "Where abouts are you from, then?"

"I'm from San Francisco, California. I'm just off the Pacific, way far from where you are," she said between bites. She may have been hungry, but she knew it was rude to talk with her mouth full. "Its pretty different here... I mean I'm not use to wearing uniforms and stuff, but my parents thought this school would be worth it," she said. "So what about you? England is a far away place to come for school. Something draw you here in particular?" She asked curiously. She sipped her juice, thinking to herself for a moment. Then she realized that her previous question could be a little rude. "Ah, sorry, I don't mean to pry. I'm just a curious kitty by nature. My parents keep saying I'll get into trouble because of it," she said with a laugh.

"Oh believe me, I know a thing or two about curiosity. In fact, that's basically why I'm here," he continued in between bites of eggs, "The school sent me a letter last spring inviting me here to 'expand upon my generous gifts from life' or something like that. I mean, yeah, I'm good at taking things apart and putting them back together, but I don't think that counts. But, I got curious as to what kind of a place this was. They were offering to pay the airfare and everything, so I figured; why not see what it's about? And, well, here I am." He shoveled another few bits of food into his mouth before he spoke again. "Anything like that for you, Stella? Things you're good at or just like to do, I mean?"

Stella paused eating for a moment. "Gifts?... Nah. He can't mean that." "I'm really into plants. I've been helping my parents with their business for a long time. They say I have a green thumb or something like it. I got a letter last spring as well, inviting me here, and telling me that they had a wonderful Horticulture club and greenhouses. I got pretty excited for a bit, but I almost didn't go. I didn't want to leave my parents. However, they convinced me otherwise. They were willing to put my happiness before everything." She went back to eating. "By taking things apart, you mean like machines?"

Tobias nodded as he finished swallowing a drink of milk. "Yep. I'm a mechanical kind of guy. I just... hmm. You know, it'll be better to show you." With that, he reached into his bag and pulled out a small pocket calculator and a tiny screwdriver. "Now, one of these guys, you normally can only track an equation of a certain size and only a small number of them. But, if I go into its backside like this," he said as he turned the calculator over and began pulling out the small screws that held it together. In no time at all the inner wiring was exposed and Tobias had begun fiddling with the bits and pieces inside. As he moved them around and connected some to others, he narrated himself much like a kid explaining the way to get to his house to a friend coming over. As he started winding down and putting it all back together, it looked as if the little device had never been touched. "But you see," He continued, "Now, you can have it do really big maths and it won't have a problem. Well... it might have some, they always seem to after I tinker with them. Ah, but listen to me, I've gone and talked your ear off, haven't I? Sorry, I wasn't trying to. I tend to get lost in me own head from time to time."

Stella had indeed gotten lost while Tobias was talking, but she blinked and then shook her head. "No not, its okay. I get the same way about plants. I could probably name all the plants in the greenhouse by their scientific name, but that would be a bit boring to you, I'm sure," she said with a blush. She was embarrassed he had caught her not really listening to him. She realized she had finished breakfast and was a little disappointed. "I do believe I'm done with breakfast, and should head to class. I don't want to be late first day," she said. "I do hope to see you later, maybe," she said, getting a bit quiet. He had been very nice to her, and was rather interesting, even if he did use terms that went over her head.

"I think I'd like that a lot. Maybe we'll see each other at lunch. Take care now!" he said as she walked away. A glance at his watch seemed to inform him that he had a similar concern for punctuality, and in short order he was also rising from his seat and speeding off toward the soccer field.

Stella smiled to herself at what he said and pulled out the map again. "Now, where is the Home EC room..." She muttered to herself and went off.
7 AM: Music Room

@Kirah @Treepuncher121 @CodeZX @Feisty-Pants @SheriffLlama

Promptly at 7 AM, Samantha Wellington arrived at Northwood. She had a cup of coffee in one hand, and a bag full of music in the other. She went straight to the Music room/ theater, and opened it up. Everything was still set up as she had left it the day before. Good. There had been years that she had arrived on the first day and found the theater a mess. She set down the bag of music and started sorting out the parts. She had special plans for Miss Marino, considering Ash usually cut her class at least once to thrice a week. She had already made arrangements with Miss Standiford for when Ash was caught in Home EC.

She waited for the students to arrive, since at this point they had about fifteen minutes till class started. She knew some would show up late, like Ash, but some would come early. Ben and his sister Marie were usually among the ones to first show up, since she was the counselor for both of them. She ran down the list and saw a few new names and smiled. It was always lovely to have freshmen in her class. A breath of fresh air.

Samantha noticed a few students file in early, and smiled to herself as she watched them enter.

One of the other students who was often early walked in just in that moment. Easily recognizable by the fiery texture of her hair, Elizabeth was the lead violinist for the school’s band. Though often of the mischievous sort outside of this class, it seemed she had taken on a bit of pride being the First Seat for such a string instrument. In she strode with feline grace, and upon her prized seat did she arrive. Resting upon her lap was a case of which popped open to reveal beautifully polished wood and string, of which she silently and knowingly tuned her instrument for the beginning of the year.

It was well expected that the Calebs siblings walked in together, both of them carrying their own instruments. As per usual, Ben carried his guitar on his back, but he also toted a cajon in his right hand. Unlike her brother, Madison only carried her guitar. "Good morning Mrs. Wellington." the girl said, smiling in her usual shy manner.

"Good Morning, Marie." Samantha responded with a kind smile. The process was repeated with the older sibling, but Ben had a slightly more enthusiastic tone of voice. He followed his sister and they both sat down, pulling out their instruments and beginning to tune them. While Marie was good, Ben was uncanny. His skill and versatility with instruments was unlike any other that Northwood had ever set eyes upon, and left Samantha rather impressed at times. While most loved his guitar playing in the courtyard, including Sam, it was well-known that he could hold his own with a violin (though not quite at the caliber as could Elizabeth), and many other instruments.

Glen walked in after another few moments of waiting, looking a little frazzled, but that was somewhat common on the first day of school. He seemed to perk up a little at seeing other people, nodding to them and giving a wave to everyone in the class. "Mornin', everyone." He stated simply, going to his drums and giving them a once-over, likely to get used to the set again after a summer of either not practicing at all or (hopefully) practicing on a different set of drums. Glen had been a pretty decent student the previous year, only occasionally late after a night of (presumed) intense study, but he'd proven able to handle the drums well, though he took some time to learn a given piece. Samantha gave him a wave as she waited for the rest to show up.

Ash was nearly the last student to wander in. She carried nothing with her as her only instrument was her voice. It was a surprise for her to show up, she wasn't ditching to bother Jamie in Home EC.

A new face walked into the room, following quickly behind Ash. Sam couldn't place the the face with any of the students she recognized. A freshman perhaps? She watched as the kid looked around the room. He seemed to not know where to sit. The new face made his way to the back row, behind most the people. Sam noticed him slightly sigh, waiting for the bell to ring.

7:30AM

Once all the students had finally arrived, and the bell rung Samantha started taking roll. She went down the list, and called names. As she went past Ben and Madison she gave them a small wave. She paused when she got to a new name, Kiddo Ray. She noticed the new kid in the back said "Here," and raised his hand. So Kiddo. She made a mental note of him. It was hard for Freshmen at times, but she would make the time for him. She called Elizabeth's name and smiled at her first violinist.

"Here, Mrs. Wellington," Elizabeth cheerfully chimed in with a whimsical tune from her lips.

Samantha nodded and moved on with roll.

She would soon hit a pause when she got to Arro Jenkins. "Arro?" No answer. "Arro?" Still no answer. She didn't see the girl. "Has anyone seen Arro?"

"Not yet. Haven't seen her since last year." Glen replied.

"Thank you Glen... I guess I'll go look for her later," Samantha said with a sigh. Maybe her roommate had already reported her missing? Maybe she was in the nurse’s office? Who knew. Sam went back to the roll, calling out Glen's name and then eventually Ash's. Ash just waved her hand at the teacher, and Sam sighed.

"Alright, so as some of you may know, I'm Mrs. Wellington. Welcome to music!" She said. The class went well from there, with Samantha helping those who didn't have instruments pick out one, and also assigned a solo part to Ash, much to the student's delight, she was sure.

Once class was over for the day, Samantha picked up the roll sheet and decided to see if she could find Arro. After a fruitless search of her dorm room and the nurse’s office, she went to the Headmistresses’ office and knocked on the door.

“Come in.” Samantha walked in and looked at Emma Standiford.

“We might have a small problem Headmistress. Arro Jenkins is missing. She missed music this morning, and when I went looking for her, she was no where to be found. I also wanted to talk to Natali Valkyrie, but her second period teacher said she was missing as well,” Sam said with a concerned look on her face.

“Yeah, I heard from Ms. Reese that she wasn’t in Swimming.” Samantha heard the headmistress make a noise that sounded like she was thinking. “I don’t like that two students are missing. Honestly I don’t like any students missing, but two in the same day is quite disturbing. I’ll have Dr. Mann look around and see if he sees any sign of the girls.”

“Thank you Headmistress. I do hope they are found soon,” she said, clutching the roll sheet as
well. Both Arro and Natali were missing? This was too much like last year for Samantha’s tastes. “I will leave you to your duties. Thank you for hearing me out,” she said and nodded to Emma before leaving.

11:00 AM Ronan’s Office

@McHaggis

After the meeting was over, Alora went to speak with Ronan. As she had felt during the meeting, there was something she needed to talk to him about. Something was bugging her. She wasn’t sure what it was, yet, but she knew it needed to be said. She knocked on the door to Ronan’s office and waited.

After a fairly long pause truncated by the shuffling of papers and the slamming of a heavy tome, then the sound of a slow limp approaching, the door opened, Ronan hanging on the frame somewhat heavily. “Yes?”

“It’s Alora sir… I mentioned I wanted to speak with you at the meeting, if you remember,” she said, looking at him. She was all too aware of his medical situation, but had no cure for him. “May I come in?”

“Of course, of course,” he said, moving over to make room while simultaneously scanning the hallway behind her in an overly-paranoid gesture. Ronan didn’t sit down, perhaps due to misplaced manners or plain stoicism. With the flick of his wand, the door closed itself quietly. “What was it you wanted to talk about?”

“I’m not quite sure myself… as you are aware of how I get sometimes, but something, just… something… needs to be said.. and I…” Alora paused, and slumped over in her chair a bit. It was not a feeling she knew well, but, it had happened only once before. Suddenly she sat back up and looked straight at Ronan.

“Ronan… Rosaline Hall… it will fall,” she said looking at him.

Ronan looked distinctly unruffled by the ill omen. “Hopefully not while we’re inside it,” he quipped.

“Of that… I am unsure, or when… but it will happen Ronan. That… is all I know,” Alora said and sighed. She straightened up again. It had been a while since she had one of those horrible visions, but this one was strong.

At a snail’s pace, Ronan returned to his desk and picked up his dainty floral teacup, staring up at the ceiling as if waiting for some divine guidance. “Alora, I do not pretend to know anything about Divination,” he said slowly. “But. That doesn’t mean I don’t believe you, or that I’m one of those sticks in the mud who say that prophecies only have power if you have faith in them. Still, I need to know what you saw. Describe it to me.”

He took a sip of tea.

Alora paused to focus on what she had seen. “Death eaters and… Inferi… not too sure about those… but the dead. Everything… burning. Screaming. You-Know-Who on the outside, you on the inside..."

Ronan interrupted quickly, “That’s enough. I have no real desire to be reminded of my mortality – even if it seems to be coming quicker than expected.” A wry smile decorated his face as if he was again taking it lightly, and he stretched his stiff leg – the one only partially transformed by the curse. “Though I’m glad it’s looking like it won’t be slow and boring like this is.”

Alora nodded. “I do apologize… not that I have much control of what I saw.” She frowned a bit and rubbed her temples. “Is there anything else you need before I go to get ready?” She paused. “I won’t leave this time, not over this.”

“Don’t tell the others, please.”

“No worries there. I have no intention of letting them know what I see,” she said.

“And–” Ronan rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed. “You do Tarot readings, yes?”

“Occasionally. Why do you ask?” She said softly. Her hand instinctively went to the pocket in which her cards were located.

Ronan looked out the window at the pond outside rather than at Alora. “I like to know if things are going to plan – or if they’re not. I figure having a few vague readings wouldn’t hurt.” Then he continued after another shaky sip of tea, “I’d also like to have an idea of how much danger our people are in. Which ones are more likely to… prematurely kick the bucket, to use such an odd Muggle term.”

Alora frowned a bit. “Another time perhaps. This morning has been more morbid than usual… and well… I will tell you one thing. You won’t lose Siobhan or Kyle. Something is tying them together.”

Ronan snorted. Loudly. Though to his credit he did try to hide it. “Yes, I do have eyes. ‘Young love’ and all that. MacFusty isn’t subtle – though, neither is her brother.”

“I mean they will not ‘prematurely kick the bucket’ as you said. And I am aware of Alistair’s unsubtly… all too well,” Alora said with a frown.

Ronan blinked in surprise, almost relief, and then cringed. “Yes. Sorry about that.” Another sip of tea. Perhaps a nervous quirk? “I won’t keep you any longer.”

“I will see you after the mission then.”

“Good luck, Miss Caldwell.”

“Thank you,” Alora said and exited Ronan’s office. She sighed to herself and went to the library first. She needed to look up something.
No worries. Sorry your laptop is broken. When you do get a chance, there is a titanpad up for Monday music class collab, that I know Kiddo is in. Take your time, and no rush. We understand life happens.
Just gonna put this up there, but anyone wanna collab with Alora before starting the mission? I will be around all day after running a small errand right now. Shouldn't take me more than an hour.
