Indeed, any merchant worth their salt knew that certain groups of people were to be avoided at all costs, or better, were to be taken with the highest degree of caution when doing business with, among those groups, people with high enough sense of self importance, like, hmm... clergymen and knights were the worst kinds. Some peddlers say that even bandits make better business partners than holymen, because at least they are honest when they steal from you.
However, Kanzaki Mikoto, the Peddler Witch wouldn't give up until she had exhausted every possible mean of negotiation. Though, said mercantile activity would have to be put on hold, as soon as the giant popped up in the middle of the road, blocking Astrea's path.
"Sir knight, I hope you haven't lost your way because of that" Mikoto said once she got close enough
"but in case you did, I carry with me excellent maps. Some of them are even magical. I bet that a traveler like you wouldn't like to miss this offer, right?""As for you, Master Giant," Mikoto said turning as high as she could, to look at the humongous being, while holding her hat
"Would you like to do business as well? I'm Kanzaki Mikoto -Peddler Extraordinary- and I can assure you that there's nothing that your giantship would want, that I don't have." As usual Mikoto finished her introduction with her trademarked confident grin. Nevertheless, she was well aware that the giant was not there for business, but hey! Trying never killed anyone, did it?
Rivenwood Mountains - Village of Orello
Things were progressing quite awkwardly for Aria. The talk between her and Sedril was coming to a premature death far too quickly, perhaps because none of the involved was too adept at idle chatter. Nevertheless, the fact remained that their first meeting would meet a short death, maybe even sealing away a fate that was yet to be unfolded.
Or so it looked like, because on the very same moment that Sedril finished his reply to Aria, a loud scream tore the placid atmosphere of Orello, sending shivers down the spine of men and beast alike.
"Excuse me!" Was all that Aria said as she kicked the chair behind her and dashed out of the wooden door of the Golden Ship, as soon as Aria stepped outside the tavern, the village was plunged into a deep darkness, as if the sun had suddenly disappeared from the sky, though the answer to was much more simple. They were inside a shadow of... something and as the screech was heard again, Aria looked upwards to see the
source of both the sound and the shadow.
"A Roc? What's it doing here?" The young paladin asked herself as the enormous bird of prey passed right over the village and made a wide turn hundreds of meters ahead, before coming back with the intention of swooping whatever the prey it had in sight was.
"GRRR!" An undead monster's roar echoed through the cavernous depths of the ancient ruin as it defeated by a
red haired girl with a final trust of her spear-like weapon. With a loud thud, the body hit the worn down stone tiles of the ancient building's floor, adding yet one more to the sizable pile that had been formed around the girl as she felled foe after foe that sought her blood.
Soon enough, the last of the zombies, was offed by the girl who smashed it with her artificial arm, before she turned to her pink haired ethereal companion and asked
"Are you really sure tis is the place we are seeking?""Of course!" The ghost girl replied is a cheery voice
"They say that one of the relics rests somewhere on these ruins, right? Then it's worth a shot, if it's going to help you find something about your past, Kurenai." While the ghost talked to Kurenai, the ghost girl also too care of looting whatever was of value with the monsters, though she could only gather what amounted to a measly 5 gold pieces from the undead bodies.
"If you say so," Was Kurenai's only reply as she turned her back to the pile of dead bodies and plunged into the deeper darkness of the ancient hallways.
