• Name: Emilia Warov
• Age: Unknown
• Gender: Female?
• Appearance: Who's the puppet and who's the puppeteer?
• Personality: Creepy would be the first word to come to the mind of almost anyone who meets Emilia at first. She's fond of riddles and words with dark meanings and seems have little in the way of empathy, almost as if she took fun in others reaction to her behavior. Whether she's teasing or not is, is up to her interlocutors to decide.
• Abilities & Skills: Emilia is a very skilled magus with a focus on Kabbalah traditions and golemancy. Animating temporary golems using Jewish scriptures, in a manner similar to Nordic Runes, is one of her biggest specialties. She can also create more elaborate dolls if she has the time to prepare them.

Emilia's magecraft is naturally inclined to deal with soul manipulation, including emotional states and draining the prana from living beings. She can manipulate others emotions and even summon wraiths, however, this requires a special, hard to produce mystic code in the form of a whole pipe organ which can only work when installed in a synagogue or similarly hallowed grounds. She can convert a church's organ into this type of mystic code, but it's usually harder because they tend to have their own enchantments which. Nevertheless, the older the instrument, the better the effects will be.

As a side effect of her skill at playing with others' shapes, Emilia is well-acquainted with physical alteration magic. She can easily change her own form but tends to use this skill only to change between different version of 'herself', making things such as guessing her age all but impossible.

Lastly, Emilia has a second mystic worthy of note: Ain Soph Aur, a set of ten wrought silver rings, each representing one of the ten Sephiroth of the Tree of Life. The abilities of this mystic code depend on which combination of rings are active at any given time. However, all of them can be spawn reinforced silver wires, which are Emilia's primary means of offense and defense when she cannot count with golems.

• Brief Backstory: Emilia is a genius belonging to the Prague branch of the Mage's Association, said to be a descendant of the legendary Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel, more commonly known as the Maharal of Prague. As is expected of one of Judah's descendants, Emilia has an astounding knowledge of the Kabbalah traditions especially golem construction and Jewish magecraft and philosophy.

Emila's immediate family and upbringing are mysterious. She grew up in a haunted house surrounded by nothing but dolls and other automata servants, which were crafted and repaired by her most of the time. Her parents were largely absent and there's no shortage of rumors about their fate, including Emilia turning them into dolls for reasons that generally boil down to insanity or loneliness. The truth may as well never be known since few who ever stepped into the Warov's state bounded field returned.

Nevertheless, the Prague Association decided to send her to this Holy Grail War that's going to take place into the USA, not only because Emilia is their most promising prodigy or because the United States has historically been a place of interest for them, but because the Einsbern are not directly involved this time. Maybe taking the Holy Grail from the Clock Tower's hands will allow them to search for more important relics, like the Arc of the Covenant. At least that's what the heads of the Prague Association seem to think.

  • Name: Euryale
  • Class: Archer
  • Appearance: A true literal goddess.
  • Personality: Euryale is a vain and cruel goddess that delights in the worship of others. While she isn't incapable of conceptualizing love, her idea of it is completely different than that of mortals. To be loved by one of the Gorgon sisters is at the same time both a great blessing and an even greater curse.

Since she and 'herself' were never able to experience life to its fullest in the Age of the Gods (thanks to their self-imposed confinement along their youngest sister), Euryale has plans to take this summoning more as a chance of having unrestrained fun away from the dull world she knew in life.

A true literal goddess that's completely independent of her Master, not even Command Spells can sway her opinion if she doesn't want them to. However, as long as you adore her and ask nicely, Euryale will lend her divine talents. Just be sure to not think about putting her into a hopeless fight, right?

    • Luck: EX
    • Noble Phantasm: C
  • Class Skills:
    Magic Resistance: A
Cancel spells of A-Rank or below, no matter what High-Thaumaturgy it is. In practice, the Servant is untouchable to modern magi, so it would not be an exaggeration to title the Servant a 'Magus Killer'.

    Independent Action: A+
Euryale has a high ranked Independent Action Skill; the goddess is essentially free.

    Goddess' Divine Core: EX
A Skill that expresses one being a perfected goddess from birth. A composite Skill that comprises the Skill Divinity, preserves the absoluteness of the mind and the body, repels all mental interference, prevents the body from growth and prevents the figure from change no matter how much calories are absorbed.
  • Personal Skills:
    Vampirism: C
For Euryale and Stheno, sucking blood will recover one's own magical energy. While this recovery will happen with anyone's blood because the blood of their sister Medusa is the one they like the most, Euryale and Stheno recover greatly when sucking Medusa's blood.

    Alluring Nightingale: A
A mesmerizing-kind of Skill possessed by those with a beautiful natural voice; it is also a declaration of the exercise of power by the royalty. It works as a charm magecraft-like effect towards those of the user's opposite sex, but evasion is possible by means of a Magic Resistance Skill. Even without Magic Resistance, one can abate it to some extent so long he or she maintains a will to resist.

    Goddess' Whim: A
It bestows several varied effects, but they are not necessarily limited to beneficial things. The set of varied effects differs between Euryale and Stheno.
  • Noble Phantasm:
    • Name: Eye of the Euryale, Goddess' Gaze
    • Rank: B
    • Type: Anti-Unit
    • Range: 1 ~ 99
    • Maximum number of targets: 1
    • Effects: The charm of the goddess, that captivated braves with a single attack, made form as a Noble Phantasm. The bow, her bewitching charm; the arrowheads, her sweet, sweet whispers. An arrow that will pierce the heart of any male, be they a human or a god. The external appearance is extremely sublime, and also cute. It is a golden bow patterned with multiple heart shapes.

"Isn't that Cupid's..." is what her little sister started to say before meeting a terrible fate.

SEYRUN RIVIATHAN

Sᴄʜᴏᴏʟ Cᴏᴜʀᴛʏᴀʀᴅ - ᴀᴄᴀᴅᴇ́ᴍɪᴇ ᴅᴇ ʟ'ᴇsᴘᴏɪʀ
4ᴛʜ ᴏꜰ Sᴇᴘᴛᴇᴍʙᴇʀ, 1917

"I really don't know what warms me up more, Nadia, your sunny disposition or this Southern weather," Seyrun said, replying to Nadalena's answer to her question. The fact that the two of them knew one another well enough to have such an exchange of thinly-veiled jabs take the place of empty greetings always brought a chuckle to Seyrun's throat. This time was no different, of course.

The Nordic princess eyed her colleague up and down, never letting go the delicate smirk that graced her face. Seyrun really wondered if Nadalena was a late bloomer or if the raven-haired Espenovan would continue to look like a precious doll for the rest of her days, like a princess in a fairy tale book. The thought of Nadia's children being taller than her was indeed entertaining and something that Seyrun would be sure to see when the time came.

"Tiring. The weather was terrible during the sea leg of the trip. It's as if the very land is shaken by the unrest of these times," Seyrun said, replying to Nadalena's question. She didn't need to mention what unrest she was talking about; nevertheless Seyrun finished her declaration with a wistful sigh followed by a question of her own. "What about you? Considering the building tension I had my doubts about whether or not I would see you again this year. That's one of the few times I'm glad I was wrong."

Anyway, I have to go sleep now. If everything is ok, I can try to get an IC post tomorrow.

Nadia left herself quite open once more. It would be a shame if no one took the chance to tease her.
Seyrun Riviathan

Name
Seyrun Riviathan

Age
16

Class Year
4ᵀᴴ

Nationality
Grand Duchy Nordland.
Continental Europa's northernmost nation, widely known for its progressive ideology — including a transition to a hybrid parliamentary system sponsored by the Royal Family — and vast, nearly untapped reserves of resources.

Appearance
Seyrun is an exotic looking girl. At almost five and a half feet, she's slightly taller than most girls of her same age group, sporting a slim and well-built physique that makes her height even more apparent. Seyrun actually enjoys having a mature figure, but she can grow self-conscious if people stare at her too much. Her pale skin is typical of those who were born and raised in the North, which has a downside of making her extremely susceptible to sunburns. However, Seyrun's most distinctive characteristics are her pale blue hair and eyes, a rare hereditary trait of Nordland's people most commonly seen in the Royal family.

Background
Seyrun is the crown princess of the rapidly-advancing Grand Duchy of Nordland, a nation that's trying to leave the pre-industrial era in a better way than most of its neighbors. Such attempts include reforms in all areas of their society and a controlled exploitation of their vast stockpiles of resources. Perhaps the most jarring discrepancy is was a bloodless revolution that led to their current parliamentary regime with the royalty willingly giving up a large part of their power in order to secure a stable future to the nation.

Despite her position, however, Seyrun doesn't hold very big expectations of — or wants to — taking the throne in her life. Her parents are healthy and young. It's much more likely that the Crown will skip right into the hands of Seyrun's future heir, or heiress; something that she actually finds very reassuring to say the truth. Because she doesn't have to bother with the throne, Seyrun could live as a "tomboyish princess" that can take care of other issues rather than diplomacy and protocol. One of these pursuits is Seyrun's interest for education which she decided to make one of her life's objectives. After all, even if she doesn't get the crown, she can use whatever she learns to help her people, her family and herself grow much better in the future.

Additional Information
Nothing to add at the moment.
I even toyed around in my head with the idea that the Imperium Romanum didn’t fall outright – provinces broke away when it focused more on issues with the Turks, Persians, and Saracens, sure, so that’s something to consider. Though, as for advancements I’m not quite sure how far scientifically I’m comfortable with given my interest here is very much in the WW1/WW2 spectrum. Y’know. Biplanes, bolt-action rifles, tanks, and the whole shebang.

Oh, we don't have to have advanced technology in these fields. In fact, I'm sure that it would likely not be the case depending on the most usual source of power. While I think that mechanical computers could certainly be a thing (depends on how Babbage's ideas would have fared in this world), nothing much more advanced than that has no need to exist.

I mean, even if the science is advanced, engineering problems would still hold it back. And engineering problems aren't solved just with better science. Technology needs time to evolve, especially in the field of materials. Much more advanced tech would require the era of steam to be pushed to earlier periods in time which is certainly displeasing.

The advantage of this kind of setting is that you can cherry pick what you want or not from story. Valkyria Chronicles is a good example of that with how no one (very mysteriously) invented a functioning airplane before the first game but they had enough tech to build something such as the Edelweiss, which looks to be at least 40 years ahead of its time.

Anyway, the idea is to do something that's most entertaining for us, since all of this is made up stuff. I prefer the 10's aesthetics with some embellishments and or occasional quirks.

That’s not even taking into account that the capital of the United Kingdom is probably still Camelot.

That made me laugh more than I should.
Hmm, I came to think about a thing since we now dive into territory regarding the shaping of society, religion and the like. How will the philosophical progressiin be like, given that all mindsets and thoughtpatterns are inherited by philosophers of old. Will we still have the German philosophers with the same ideals and with Hume's critical mind attacking, well, the Norse religion now instead? As in, just have some equivalents of those. Or will we have to build up aat completely new philosophical background?

I mean, since we will discard Christianity, it's also plausible that the discrimination of women never took place, which would explain how women could even attend school, but it also removes the importance that certain early feminist philosophers like Olympe de Gouges and Mary Wollstonecraft which made way for them to have a role in society. I imagine such philosophy is less needed if the world already accept women, given how the Viking era was basically men rule the sea, women rule the homes kind of dichotomy.

Oh dear, things are getting complicated. Exciting!

Those are some interesting thoughts. I'd say that they religion would likely consolidate differently over time (kinda steering towards the something similar to Valkyria Profile's religion), but their philosophy wouldn't change too much immediately.

Western philosophy is largely dependent on Classic Greek and Roman thought schools. If nothing else, having a society that never transitioned to rigid monotheism but instead kept open to the trading of ideas that most polytheistic societies seemed to be pretty chill about would allow for some modern schools of thought to blossom far earlier. At the very least, the society as a whole would be more advanced and educated because the Church actively forbid non-clergy people from learning pretty much anything for a good part of history.

Long term political stability would have suffered, though. Some modern nations analogous to France would have little to no reason to exist simply because a "Charlemagne" wold have no way of existing. Which probably means that various Celtic cultures are still the norm, or were so for a long time before congealing into some semblance of order.

It's a heavy speculative setting, especially if there are some very light fantasy elements involved. Certainly with lots of possibilities to toy with.

Anyway, as far as science and philosophy goes, I'm certain that there would be substantial advancements.
@Nogg Saron

I can't see anything out of order at the moment. Your character is ok on my end as well.
Timidly walks in

H-hey... Did I come in a bad time?

Kinda interested on this one XD

You're welcome.
