@TheWendil Okay, so I have some questions.

I pretty much have everything but the actual magical girl part figured out, hence where the questions come in.

So I was thinking about doing was an alter tale based on the Fenian Cycle. Yes, Cuhullin is a total chad, but I really like the stories about the more "human" Fianna clan members led by Fionn mac Cumhaill, or Finn McCool as he is commonly called in English.

My issue is that there is no single story that these dudes appear in. They're in several poems written in a body of literature called the Fenian Cycle, which is a collection of early irish writing that spans from the 9th to 14th century. So my question is for a grimoire would it be acceptable to use a collection of stories like the Fenian Cycle that more or less follows the exploits of the Fianna, or would I have to pick a single poem/story to draw inspiration from?

The later option is fine. That's pretty much what many grimoires based on old mythology should be anyway, since those stories always tend to be composite to some extent.

In a way, it even opens the possibility of more than one grimoire drawing from the same rough source, like Camelot and Merlin both originating from the Matter of Britain. Most mythological cycles can be used in this way, and actually make more sense if so, so the idea of a character with an anthology like grimoire is fine in these cases.
"I could ask the same thing out of you," Farris said. As she answered Marianne's question with one of her own, the dark-skinned girl's voice remained rather casual, despite her peer's not-so-veiled threats. "I suppose I can agree with that. We should find a better name for ourselves. But that's a matter for another time, right now, we have more pressing issues to attend to," she added as the structure of the tower began to collapse around them.

The fabric of reality being unraveled around her was of no concern to Farris who was born of the union of Space and Time. She didn't suffer from as much disorientation as others likely would when being suddenly shunted into a new plane of existence, even if it was another of the Tower's simulacra. In fact, when they landed in the new world, Farris found hers and Marianne's positions to be more or less swapped. Now, the dark-skinned girl held her pale peer in her arms, in a bridal carry.

Farris didn't make any effort to conceal the smirk on her lips. "Maybe, you should find someone less prone to temper tantrums. Not that I think it makes any difference to you of all people, does it?" She answered the other girl's question, pointing to the fact Marianne likely had no attachment to this "host" of her other than what the Tower forced her to.

Meanwhile, in an inconspicuous bar, not that far away from the place the others landed. The door swung open, prompting a clanging bell to break the uncharacteristic stillness brought about by Katie's moody... mood.

A couple moments later, a girl dressed in fashionable garbs one would expect of a VIP customer sat at the counter, right beside the object of attraction of most of the present, patrons and staff alike. "Two of your best strawberry milkshakes, please. One for me, and one for the lady over here. And don't forget the cherry on top, please," Erika said to whoever was running the bar.

"So, do you come over here very often?" the blonde said to her cousin, trying to sound as serious and suave as possible, even though she was kind of having to hold back from laughing at her own joke.

Having finished her business with the newbie magical girls for the time being, Eins was just about to call it a day, leave for her room, and find some way to spend the rest of the night. At least that's what she meant to do before being intercepted by one of those very same girls before she could do any of it.

"Wha--!?" Eins replied with a start, as Stripes' question snapped her back to reality. "I... hmm... If I'm not wrong, your Magical Girl name is Stripes, huh?" She asked as she tried to recollect the other girl's name.

"Hmm? It's not like I mind sharing, but I thought the costume and name already gave it away. Well, that's my bad, I guess. After all, I can't quite expect everyone to know about a mere Legend." Eins sounded almost bummed that her Grimoire wasn't recognized. Still, dusted her cape and introduced herself properly. "Well, as my friend here implies, my tale is that of the Nutcracker and the Mouse King. While I may draw some inspiration from that story's protagonist, I suppose most of my skills are more in tune with Godfather Drosselmeyer, the miracle inventor. That's why I chose Drossel as my codename, you see?" she said, with a proud smile on her face.

"Anyway, now that I answered your question. Can I help you with something? If it's about my offering, I'll be happy to help you. That said, I can't quite do it here. Tuning is a lengthy and delicate process, so it needs a proper time and place to be performed."

"Su-- Sure, Mi-- I mean, Val!" Eins replied with a start, after Valeria's answer. She sounded almost like a startled deer caught in the sights of a hunter. In a way, maybe that was the case considering both magical girls' motifs. "I-- thank you for your consideration!" She added hurriedly, before turning her attention back to the eager rookie magical girls.

"Oh well, that... certainly makes it easier to explain..." Eins said to herself, following Suzuya's declaration. The silver-haired magical girl's voice carried a hint of disappointment, almost as if she were holding herself back from pouting after one of the girls got the gist of how her abilities work on her first try. "It's just like she said, in a way at least." Eins addressed Stripes' answer about what her proposal entailed, pointing to the flame-tailed magical girl.

"I trust most of you girls worked with, or at least know about Goodhope's skills. Well, mine are similar... but of a more permanent nature. In a way, I guess you can think about it as a fast-track trainign regimen, since I can't help you get any abilities you wouldn't naturally have, even if you don't know you have the potential for them," Eins continued her explanation, puffing out her chest with pride as it finally looked like she was in control of the situation. "I'll give you girls time for some consideration. Just beware of one thing... nothing in this world comes for free. I can help you learn about your grimoires' faster. But if all you desire is power, you should take care to not end up twisted by your own desires."

"At any rate, if any of you still want my help, feel free to come see me at either the Arts and Crafts room, or the Library. I'll be more than glad to help," Eins said before also taking her leave from the training grounds, as if on cue with the rest of the disbanding crowd.

"Acting as a team, huh?" Eins, or rather Drossel, said to herself as she looked at the other girls scrambling into action. "It's not like I'm a part of that. In fact, I probably shouldn't even be mixed with them. But, since I'm here... I might as well try to have some fun. It's been a while since I got to stretch my legs, after all," she thought as she stood on the sidelines while the rest of the girls formed their plans, gave pep talks, and even tried to use some of the junk spread through the arena to their advantage.

"Hey--"

And just before she could do anything, the exercise ended because the other girls were incapable of proper coordination. Or at least that's what Valeria seemed to think. Eins wasn't built for fighting, but even she felt a little bummed that the only chance she had in a while was cut down so shortly.

"Anyway, I guess it's time to peddle my wares." Eins dusted off her coat and approached the newby magical girls right after Valeria dismissed their class before they could truly scatter around. "Excuse me, please. I know you want to have some debriefing with the girls, but I hope you don't mind if I at introduce myself before that. Right, Miss Valeria... erm, Val... Ma'am?" Eins tried to find the best way to get around Valeria's spiky shell as she kind of interrupted the post-class activities to peddle her wares.

"It's kind of a bummer what happened, right? Getting the exercise cut just when you were trying to figure it out," she said as she circled around the group. "By the way, I guess I should introduce myself, right?" She added with a sheepish smile on her thin lips.

"I'm Eins Reinhardt, but I guess you can call me Magical Girl Drossel, the Tuner." Eins introduced herself with a gracious curtsy, while the nutcracker soldier that followed her raised his gun in a salute. "It would be my pleasure to help you girls get a little more in touch with your grimoires. If you wish, of course," she added with a beaming smile on her lips.

@Majoras End

She's fine, I think. You can move your character to the CS tab and begin posting whenever you are able to.
I'm here, just trying to fine the motivation to do things at the moment. If you don't mind waiting, I'll gladly be put on the backburner. If not, completely understandable.

No worries.

"Oh, is that so?" Erika's voice was full of amusement as she replied to her cousin after listening to the whole explanation. The whole idea was very interesting for her. Erika almost felt an urge to go back in time to verify all this, but that would likely spoil the fun.

Instead of that, she drew her sword. This whole chaos was beginning to bother her as well, and Esa was almost done with her analysis of the source code around them. "I don't think you have to worry about that, really. That wouldn't come here just because of something like this."

"Anyway, I guess I'll do this my way while you handle the rough bits," Erika concluded right as Katie was dragged into the fight once again. She had no side to pick in this conflict, but there was no way she would let this fusion, no matter how dramatic and beautiful it was, end up hurting her beloved cousin in any serious way. A little love bite here and there, sure, but no dismemberment or stuff like that.

While Katie got back into the fight directly, Erika decided to put her talents — uniquely fit for this situation — to better use. With a swipe of her hand, she unleashed her blade's true form. Just the waves generated by the motion were enough to dispel significant portions of the corrupt data vortex. Annihilating a couple Nephunas and probably throwing off some of the other's moves in the process. That would serve them well, though, with that lack of coordination, a third party throwing a span in the works was the least they deserved.

"I'm sorry, but in this realm, I might as well be the one who has the ultimate power," Erika said to no one in particular as she teleported through space, reaching the well-protected core — or rather, its kernel — with the speed of thought. All of the multiple layers of the firewall protecting it crumbled apart with a single strike, probably throwing some of Akiko's copies away from their objective. "So much raw data is nothing like the hearts you are used to twisting. If you try to touch it, you'll probably have a really bad time."

While Erika was taking care that Katie's allies don't kill themselves in their attempt to not get killed, Farris was taking care of the real reason they were in this mess, to begin with, and what would actually be the cause of the destruction of Katie's allies, if left unchecked.

"I bet you are thinking you are a really big boy now, huh? Feeling great with your power high," Farris said in a disinterested tone as she appeared in Thomas' path right after he dispatched Nephuna's ghostly apparitions. "Not even paying attention to the fact the girl you were trying to avenge came back a moment ago. No, actually you don't even care if she's alive or dead, don't you? You just want an excuse to use that power and feel good about yourself," she added as she raised her shield and took the strike meant for Nephuna.

The power of the Golden Eyes was great. However, even as it tried to erase the girl's shield — no, her very self — from existence, it met with an equally unbelievable resistance. Even if a layer of the static time crystals that composed her shield and weapons broke, Farris kept summoning another and another to wear down the force behind Thomas' strike. An unstoppable force, encountering an immovable object, a time-honored paradox, whose answer was about to be found out.

Once she was sure the boy was right into her reach, and no dodge could be done unless he forsook his attack, Farris switched to an offensive counter. "If you really call yourself a man, then just..." Her own eyes flashed with a golden hue similar to Thomas' as she twisted her wrist and aimed a powerful strike with the pommel of her sword at his jaw "... GRIT THOSE TEETH AND BEAR IT LIKE ONE!" She shouted, her voice echoing through the digital void.

@Siber

She's looking better now. As @TheWendil said, let us know when you have finished her revised CS so that we can give her proper second look.
@Siber

Hmm, I don't know... This character concept isn't striking a chord with me for a couple reasons:

- Her appearance while transformed is little too inhuman, that's very out of sync with just about everyone, even the antagonistic girls.

- Her emotion manipulation powers would be kinda ok for villain, but they are both inappropriate for player since that can cause OOC issues, not to say anything about being quite pointless against the Pageless since they have no emotions or a mind of their own. That said, this could be reshaped to a more interesting ability, though. Maybe something to do with darkness would be fine.

- The main prolem is her grimoire. Excuse me if I'm just being ignorant, but I don't think I ever heard of that story before, and grimoires shouldn't just be created in a vaccuum like even alters have some basis on some prior existing story after all. Also, the rank is a little too high even if it's an existing story, since it doesn't strike me as something that important.
