As it turns out, I found a backup drive I created in August 2021. Although, all my old stuff and 95% of my book are there, I lost all the recent RP stuff I am working on.

Have you considered backing up on Google Drive? That's where I keep some copies of things I need or am working on. I doubt Google will die out any time soon, so your stuff should be safe on there. RPG's PM system also works wonders since you can PM yourself and write posts and OOCs from there. The only issue with it is that it doesn't have an autosave feature, like how writing on the main section of the forum does.

Hello, I come in peace to join your RPs. I was into individual setting RPs, or RP sites on Proboards, JCink, etc., but I have a lot of high school nostalgia for this type of RP and cringe culture is dead anyway.

To get started, do ya'll recommend showing interest in iChecks or just jumping into any OOCs for RPs that are still accepting players?

Welcome to the guild.

I'd say to show interest in interest checks over OOCs, mainly because some RPs may already be miles from where they started with the OP and therefore may be difficult to jump into. But it ultimately doesn't matter either way, really.

Video Games: The General Discussion & Community Thread Number Two

Been playing Unite despite having zero experience in MOBAs. That said, it's fun. Most of my playtime is a Cramorant build dedicated entirely to denial. Start with Whirlpool, then Feather Dance (FD is practically useless since you probably won't be fighting other players prior to level 4 when you upgrade FD). After that, pick Hurricane and Surf for upgrades. I suppose you can go for Air Slash instead, but Hurricane is much better, IMO. Dive is useless since you want to stay away from opponents, especially things like Zeraora that'll shred right through you.

If you keep waking up at that time, it won't be so bad later on. Your body will end up adjusting to that time frame as "wake up" time via your internal clock.
