He's got more than one way to claw his way back out of death. Unless it messed up, which I guess could happen. But if he does, then you can either beat him down until he runs out of ways to do that and is dead for real, continue doing the same thing until he hits his backfire limit, or you can try to push him into backfiring earlier.

As far as I'm concerned, it is. If they're still active, they own the Territories. If they own the Territories, then I know my next move. However...I don't think The Legend is dead. Not even close. For someone who is so maddeningly meticulous to fail even an hour into a fight just doesn't seem plausible.

Not exactly. I did the math and, uh, it looks like getting killed adds less to the limit than summoning whatever weird powers he'd need to deal with all that. Or at least, it does once you factor in all the next steps and such.
