My Roleplay, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, will reach its 4th year in June or July. It's been a long journey.

Despite its massive flaws, my RP, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, is still one of the longest ongoing RPs in RPGuild - It turns 4 years old in July and the current thread itself is more than a year old.

Ashton Andrews and Flame Brooks

Flame nodded and said, "I am not the best at this cloak-and-dagger stuiff, but I'm cynical enough to know when it's needed and that's the best we have. But despite my cynicism, I know when to share information and when to keep it secret. So, I'll share everything that's happened to me and Ashton so far while you tell me about the assassins that tried to kill you and the the other guy and how the cleaning went down."

He had added that last phrase as an afterthought. "Basically, nothing happened to those who went to get papers - and by nothing bad, I meant nothing fatal. One can see it in the Japanese girl; she seemed like she got pulled out from the verge of triumph."

Flame paused, "But here's the info we have; the entire party - all of us Earthlings - are under a curse that prevents us from talking about being from another world, although a partial way can be gotten around it by referring to L.T. as L.T." Another pause. "After personalized interrrogations that were actually humane, we also got our papers; all except Yuuki - I'll tell you about what happened to him later. Note that said papers don't give us citizenship, just allow us to go around the city without fear of arrest and death. And this is the most important piece of information; Yuuki got denied papers and will be treated to honorable confinement because..."

He leaned in closer, "His dad, on Earth, is apparently a part of the Cult IRL and said Cult has power even on Earth. And they're afraid that while Yuuki can be trusted, his father is able to control him or had cast something to turn him into a Demon Beast at an opportune time." A sigh, "And finally, I fell out with Chieko; she hates me and Ashton now because I called her 'mean' for casting mean looks at the both of us. Then we found out that the authorities are not taking recruits or apprentices, and thus we had to go to Doctor Donovan for a job."

The redhead looked at Aerith and Hiro now. "Now, tell us what happened to you two so we can get a complete picture. You talked about assassins and I saw what happened to you and your companion earlier. Also, while I'm only a botanist and Ashton's a novice veterinarian, I know the difference between dying to a blade and dying to poison now, and if Fritzi is an enemy, she would not have exposed herself to poison candles or pointed out that there could be poison candles in the first place. Plus, she was exhibiting the same symptoms as us before we all collapsed."

Flame had made up his mind; Doctor Donovan was guilty and suspicious to boot. But he'd let the others infer it and assess his evidence. He then waited for Aerith to tell him what happened and once she was done, give his own thoughts.

"Even more evidence for Fritzi being somewhat innocent," He would say if he had been given the required information; if not, he'd stay silent. "She would not have taught you guys magic if she were planning to kill you all right from the start - at least, it's not likely. Also, I'd presume that you guys still know how to use your magic as we all retain knowledge through resets. So I think that first order of business is to ask Fritzi or someone else to check all of us for our 'Magical Elements and strengths'; even if she's treacherous, we can retain the knowledge and use it in future 'loops'."

He then looked to see if Chieko, Yuuki, Aer, and Ashton had left yet.
@Metatrooper, Sure, but it's getting rebooted by The Jest, so one has to wait further in order to actually play; sorry.
Ashton Andrews and Flame Brooks

Ashton and Flame remembered the feeling of being poisoned, assuming that was what killed them a second time. They also remembered Fritzi's last words, which implicated Doctor Donovan but not so completely they can just make accusations like that. So Ashton quickly ran up to Flame to grab the other boy's upper arm as the latter's face twisted in sudden rage, whispering to him, "We don't have any proof; don't act suspicious."

Then, to keep up apperances, he said somewhat loudly, "Flame! I'm glad to see you again!"

He then whirled back to Aer and said, "Yeah, I think they were kidnapped too; anyway, Aer, meet Flame, my, uhh... special partner. Flame, meet Aer; she's an adventuress."

Flame nodded curtly, all the while thinking up a plan in order to save the entire group's lives this time around - Even that mean Japanese Girl, although he was certain she didn't actually die. He would then turn to Alistair and say to the blonde in a low voice, almost a whisper but not quite, "Alistair, I don't know how you feel right now, but we're going to need someone with leadership skills to get us through this. We need someone to gather those with useful skills or... Well-honed bodies and rope the entire group into picking the same solution - Which I believe is getting official permits."

The redhead wasn't blind; he had seen Hiro and Aerith's burnt and wounded bodies as well as heard Doctor Donovan's presumed treachery. So that left signing up with Mono - or trying to - as the only viable option. Even if it meant handing over Yuuki - Ashton's new Shota friend - to the authorities to be locked up in 'honorable confinement'. At the very least, staying as a unified group would help them deal with new perils.

Ashton, meanwhile, walked up to Aer, and said in a hopefully discreet whisper, "So, while my partner is trying to talk the entire group into coming with you, I have to ask: How do you know this Doctor? He seems like a nice guy."
Archibald Andrews - Sapper

Was it over? Trick question; it wasn't - this was merely a lull. But Archibald's thoughts were not on how war was innately savage and against all ideals of altruism and civilization; he knew things weren't that simple. People made war because there were reasons to fight war, and sometimes, those reasons were actually compelling. Saying a hurried Cruxian prayer, Archibald headed to his depressed-looking commanding officer, just in time to catch Lieutenant Middleton's last words. Not being suicidal, he waited for the Lieutenent to wander off before walking towards Jean, who had begun to cry.

Quickly, out of pity, Archibald positioned himself in front of the Lance Corporal in order to somewhat hide his tears from other people's judging looks. Now, how to reassure the other young man in a way that wasn't over-familiar? Archibald finally settled for saying, "Lance Corporal, it's all right; we're still alive - your squad is still alive." He paused, then opened his mouth a little. "I know that war is brutal, I knew that when I volunteered for this and so far, it hasn't disappointed me. I also know that people are cruel; they're naturally like that. But you're not a coward; we're still alive because of you, sir."

There were no easy answers to war, no easy answer to the question on how to endure terror and brutality. But Archibald still believed that beyond war, there was peace, that there can be a world without war in the future. The appeal of the Cruxian faith was not in material benefits like Yggdism, but in its promise of absolute good, compassion, and self-sacrifice Sometimes, the first and last principles can be twisted until one was as brutal as a Yggdist, but this isn't what was going to happen today. No, this day, he was going to show Jean that someone cared for him, that his subordinates cared about what he was suffering through.

A faint smile as Archibald said, "I know the worst is yet to come, Lance Corporal. The Federation and the Imperials; they have an arsenal of nasty tactics and perhaps even weapons to unleash on each other. But some of us here, some of us will live through that and we will be with you." A pause. "It's a faint promise, but I will still give what I can, to make sure that whatever comes, you have someone to stand by you. You've won the loyalty of your squad today by getting them through. And right now, you've showed them that you're not a coward but a human, and right now, we require humanity from our commanders."

That was a jab at Lieutenant Middleton. "Tell you what; if you make it through this, even if I don't, go to Bangorburgh, in the United States of Vinland, and ask for the Andrews Inn. Tell the inkeeper you're my friend, a friend of Archibald Andrews, and he'll give you the best beer and sweet rolls the New Edinburgh region of Vinland can produce. And if I do survive, I'll serve you and everyone you bring myself."

A wider smille. "So what do you say, want to make it through this?"

It might not be enough to snap Jean out of his depression. Heck, Archibald might not be able to keep his promise and he might die. But he was trying to help; wasn't it enough?
@KaiserElectric, it depends on @The Jest now.
@KaiserElectric, There are slots open for you, actually.

I am glad the master of the greatest game to be released a hundred times has taken interest.
