The Road to Bruma
The Orange Road; Imagine that its Summer, please...
Brigit was chuckling, "I was going to spit that the seeds you want to sow - Your 'True Nordic Culture' - will fall on barren soil, Arvindr, but this show your party put up is enough amusement to last me for an eternity wherever I am headed. Go on, kill me - I have no more regrets..."
Bruma
Bruma; pretend that it's Summer
Assuming Brigit was killed or otherwise gotten rid of, the party would arrive at the town of Bruma, where the guards would grumble about being given special orders to speed up 'Arvindr the Scholar's' expedition through the town gates. After that, they would meet a redheaded, smooth-skinned, lean, and fit, Breton in Heavy Armor coming towards them, his young features blazing with the fervor known to those of his age. His armor bore the sigils of the Imperial Legion, but of a different battalion than the Argonnian Legionnaire from before, and he knew their purpose as he strode before them fearlessly and gave a slight bow, saying, "I am Captain Owen of the Imperial Legion; I'm here to guide you to where you'd be staying."
He then led them to Jerall View Inn, which despite its name, actually faced away from the Gerall Mountains. There, three Reachfolk in ill-fitting 'civilized' clothes; silks and linens but with feathers and beads of semi-precious gems sewn into them to indicate their origin, and three Orcs in heavy armor were waiting. There were also a half-dozen Imperial Legionnaires alongside Captain Owen, all of them older than him. As for the Captain, he went over to the party and gestured them over to a table close to his squad, who had ordered several tankards of ale, some cheese, and venison, plus bread. Then he cast a minor spell, one that manipulated the winds to mimic an innocuous conversation to eavesdroppers, then said:
"So, I heard word that your scholar and your Khajit, Arvindr, and Kiffar, are your leaders now. If so, I'll make this quick; the walls have ears and suspicions are rising among the townsfolk. Thus, you are to eat, drink, and then accompany our guests south to the Imperial City in the dead of night, or if it would be less suspicious, by the next morning..."
One of the three Orcs was a chieftain who wore the traditional armor of a leader of an Orc Stronghold, while one of the Reachfolk was an aged woman who seemed to recognize Sindri, and gave her a nod of acknowledgment; Sindri might recognize her as a member of one of the more prominent tribes, one who traded with outsiders slightly more often than the others, and was more receptive to her bridge-building than most others. Either way, her presence and the Orc Chief's drew eyes from among the Nord and Imperial guests in the inn, who did not appreciate being crowded out.
The bartender, meanwhile, was listening to several local trappers about an increase in Saber Cats in the region, and the appearance of 'Old One Eye', a one-eyed Saber Cat with an ivory pelt...
