Once upon a time, I used to cheer for May the 4th... now I cry with disappointment. *Except Clone Wars S7 and the Mandalorian - they are awesome*
Values mankind but for very bizarre and ultimately detrimental reasons.
Lovecraftian stuff at this point is limited (for Arc 1 anyways) but I'd still like to see what you can make regardless :)
Will definitely say that more crazy stuff like this will be more popular in future arcs, just wanted to throw that out. Specifications for Arc 1 will be dropped down soon
I'll probably join regardless, but what's the stance on mecha? Maybe not something Jaeger-sized, but smaller?
Mecha for Arc 1 won't be mainstream. I don't mind maybe one or two, but keep them to a minimum. In future arcs however, I'll definitely have more emphasis on them.

"The arrogance of man thinks nature is in our control... and not the other way around." ~ Dr. Ishiro Serizawa (Godzilla 2014)
From the days of early man, mankind had endured over several millennia of surviving within a constantly changing world. They, as a species, survived the savage beasts that constantly hunted them by creating weapons to defend themselves. They had adapted to the harsh climates that rattled the globe - from the great Ice Age to major droughts. They had survived the countless wars that threatened to exterminate them from within. And they've constantly created new tools and materials to finally thrive and control the world around them. Humanity would become one of the major the dominant species on Earth, expanding across the world to the point where they felt like nothing could stop them.
But in the grand scheme of time, we've only been around for merely a few seconds. And compared to other eras, we're merely infants in a world still unknown to us in many places.
In reality, humans were only bugs in a world of gigantic, primordial beasts. No better did humanity recognize this within the earliest part of their history. From the many illustrations found in caves and ancient murals, they all described huge beasts of incomprehensible size roaming across the land. They referred to them as almighty "gods" and "demons", divine creatures that they revered and respected. Some illustrations sported various interpretations of these creatures - some sporting giant wings, some sporting fiery-breaths, hard carapaces, and other unnatural god-like feats.
From shaping the world around them to battling one another in colossal conflicts, they all dominated the lives of ancient man as living, unstoppable forces of nature. Yet suddenly, at one point in time, most of them had seemed to vanish from historical records. When these texts were recovered after centuries of dormancy, archeologists initially believed that these "gods" were simply deities that helped the ancient people explain the world around them. They believed that such beasts were incapable of existing for one way or another.
If only they truly grasped the full picture...
However, some notable individuals knew about the existence of these titanic gods, knowing better than to join the ignorance propagated by the governments. That role fell into the hands of the "TERRA" Initiative. Assembled in 1959 by the UN, after multiple reports came in of destruction which could've only been made by their size and prowess, the international organization lead by director Matthias G. Reed made haste in identifying and securing possible source of titan activity and preparing protocols in the event they awaken. Since the inception of TERRA, over twenty outposts had been erected around the globe and every year they discover more monsters popping up on their radar.
Still, it wouldn't save them for what would come next.
On that fateful day - June 17th, 2021 - mankind became witness to the beginning of a sudden, violent resurgence. Coming out of nowhere, a mysterious, powerful ultrasonic frequency rippled throughout the entire planet, causing mass blackouts to occur along with disturbing precious electronic equipment. Not even TERRA's outposts were safe from the impact. No one had seen or predicted it coming. Nearly half an hour later, several outposts reported unusual activity within their dormant facilities. And then, in a near synchronic fashion, TERRA would be faced with several dreaded messages originating from nearly all of their outposts... all repeating the same message:
Caught completely off-guard and ill-prepared, TERRA scrambled to alert the Governments of the world upon to approaching apocalypse and prepared for the worse. But even their initial efforts would prove fruitless as, even with the help of military forces, they would fail to put a dent or even halt the advance of these god-like monstrosities. Within mere hours, various cities around the globe had been virtually flattened, with casualties numbering in the millions. The enraptured media demanded answers for what was previously an unknown phenomenon to the public, while scientists and journalists worked tirelessly in order to study and find ways to beat these ancient gods.
Earth has unleashed yet another Herculean feat for humanity to solve, one of the likes that they've had never seen before. Will the new world preserve their features and prevail against the titans of old? Or will the Old Gods succeed in taking back for what was once rightfully theirs?
"Our Mission: Discovery and Defense in a Time of Monsters." ~ Monarch's mission statement, circa 2018 (Monsterverse Series)
Welcome to Primordial Uprising! As one could tell, this RP is inspired by the kaiju films of those made in Japan - including the classic Godzilla, Gamera and Ultraman franchises - as well as the recent and upcoming films in America's own kaiju series known simply as the "Monsterverse" (also featuring Godzilla, King Kong, and friends). Particularly, this RP is heavily based on someone else's now defunct version, but now tuned with slightly more bells and whistles. In this RP, you can take control of both sides revolving around an apocalyptic battle between mankind struggling to defend their world and the giant primordial gods that wish to reclaim it.
As a human, you've found yourself enwrapped within the midst of the conflict, as well as on the radar of TERRA. Whether you're a scientist testing theories, a reporter covering a particular monster, a soldier or pilot combating them with state-of-the-art weaponry, a slimy individual with an agenda of its own, or even a regular pedestrian trying not to become one of the many casualties, your decisions and contributions can affect the entire outcome of the war.
As a monster, you've just broken out of your containment facility, or perhaps one of the many new faces that had just decided to pop out of hiding. You're most likely confused or enraged about what the world had become of your absence and proceed to act accordingly. However, such monsters aren't so black and white as they seem. While many are enraged titans that seek destruction, some on the other hand might those that only defend themselves for the sake of their own survival. Some may even value humanity and seek to protect them from the chaos - giving the humans a fighting chance! Either or, you are bound to run into a fellow monster and your reactions towards them can result in brutal conflict or perhaps teaming up to cause more chaotic destruction or combat a common foe.
This role-play deeply approves of collaborating and interacting with one another, with storylines and arcs being common and often to develop both your characters and the plots for both sides. Story will be more grounded in the basis of basic and simple scenarios, but as the RP goes on, more crazy events may happen down the line. But most importantly is to essence of having fun! Have fun in designing your characters and the interactions you'll have with one another. Sky is the limit!
"Must Read."
(1). As in basically every other RP, no God-modding, Mary-Suing, Power Gaming, Meta-Gaming, etc, is allowed.
(2). Don't be rude or cause drama within the OCC. If any major problems arise, settle them out with the GMs in the PMs or otherwise. Repeated offenders will be kicked from the RP.
(3).] Both human and monster character limits are 2 each for each player as of Arc 1 (total of four characters). (More Arc 1 info will be revealed at a later date with specifications)
(4). Should be obvious for most players, but for newcomers, all characters require a CS to be approved. Put your sheet in the OCC and wait for review by me and other Co-GMs (if applicable). Once accepted, put it in the CS.
(5). Existing kaiju or humans found in any canon media source (names like Godzilla, Gamera, Dr. Ishiro Serizawa, etc) are barred from be using. They have to be original-based (but can be inspired significantly by them if you so please) - however names of mythological beasts (such as Crimera, Bunyip, Jormangandr, etc) are fair game.
(6). Players who drop out "sporadically" from the RP are heavily discouraged. If you want to leave the RP for any particular reason, at least inform me or the Co-GMs of your leave of absence. (If it's an emergency, and/or its a temporal leave, also tell us ASAP and we can accommodate for your absence).
(7). My posts for advancing the plot will come within a weekly basis. If the majority of players post by the end of the week, I will proceed to advance it. If not, I will give extra time up to another week to advance (depending on how many need to finish). If you're falling behind and need a boost or more time, the GMs will be happy to help you along.
(8). If you have any questions, comments, concerns, and problems, please let the GMs know! We'll be happy to respond to anything you ask.

“Most of them are here, I think. Yoshi's out back...”
Mario's face perked up upon hearing that name. He didn't necessarily expect his green ally of his - and make-shift steed - to be around these parts. Yoshi's own Island, maybe, but not here. Then again, it wouldn't surprise him either, as he reminisced about the time he found him sleeping on the roof of this exact castle.
He continued listening to Peach.
“Luigi is probably still cleansing the library,"
The plumber's face lit up in joy as he instinctually made a sudden happy jump, throwing his fist in the air in excitement. Yet recognizing his somewhat awkward action, he chuckled bashfully before scratching the back of his head.
"Oh Excellent-a!" he happily responded, "I was-a-worried that something unfortunate-a-had become of him."
Indeed, he was quite relieved to see that his younger brother hadn't gone very far. Although Luigi wasn't necessarily the type of person to go out on many quests alone, saving the several exceptions in which included visiting a haunted mansion thrice and how he took a balloon tour around the world shortly after Mario returned from his Odyssey. With those exceptions, Luigi was reluctant to go on such adventures, let alone by himself. Mario even feared that he might've been kidnapped and that he'd have to go looking for him. Nevertheless, he will have to see him as soon as he can.
"And I would imagine Wario's having the time of his life in the treasury." She then wrinkled her nose as if displeased with the thought. "“As if I needed another reason to avoid working with money."
Mario's left eyebrow rose up at such a casual mentioning.
"He's-a-here as well?" he asked with an odd look, "And as-a-the head of-a-the treasury? Ohhh, why am I not-a-surprised."
That one was a bit of a curve ball. As far as he knew, his doppelgänger had only visited the castle once. The time he did come, he was invited alongside Mario and Luigi to come over for cake (and as why Peach chose Wario to come is still a mystery to him, as he always thought it was an odd choice), only for them to get captured and trapped in doors. If it weren't for Yoshi's curiosity getting the best of him, they definitely wouldn't be here. But since then, he didn't seem to return. So now to find out that he's working for Peach in the treasury was odd.
Regardless, that was the least of his worries.
"As for Daisy, Rosalina...I have no idea. They must not be around here.”
"Hmmm," the plumber wondered as he brushed his mustache, "I suppose they are located else-a-where? Regardless, we will-a-hopefully find them upon our travels-a. Thank-a-you, Princess."
Mario bowed, tipping his crimson hat, before he dashed to the library. He moved quickly on the red carpet and up the marble stairs, his mind fixated on the room that he knows by heart. The fact that he had traversed these halls for countless of times allowed him to see and know every nook and cranny within this grandiose castle. As he made it up, he paused to see Bowser reuniting with his son down at the ground floor. He seemed to make an attempt to frown at the two, but alas he couldn't bring himself to do so. Something about a father reuniting with his child was something too wholesome for him to frown upon. Perhaps this was something he felt similarly as to how he and Luigi often react after being separated for long periods. He smiled at their reunion before heading off again.
Eventually, he made his way towards the library and opened the door to the giant shelves that held countless of priceless books.
And standing in the midst of it all, his nose tucked away in a book, was none other than...
"LUIGI!" Mario yelled joyfully as he extended his arms out.
The green stache' immediately closed his book and looked at Mario. His face shined at the very sight of his older brother.
"MARIO!" he screamed ecstatically as he rushed towards him with open arms too.
The two brothers embraced one another, with Mario patting his brother's back as he cried rivers of joy of their glorious reunion. They held onto one another for what seemed to be hours before the younger brother released his grip and sighed towards Mario.
"I'm-a-so relieved that you're ok!" Luigi said in his charmingly nasally voice, tears still dripping from his eye, "What-a-happened to you? Or more importantly, what-a-happened to us? Everything seemed to have changed! I-I remembered that~"
"Lots-a-things happened since-a-then." Mario replied in a somewhat somber tone before taking a step back, "And unfortunately all for-a-the worst."
Luigi's relieved smile soon disappeared upon the notion, feeling the weight of his brother's emotions. Their brotherly bond was just that powerful - powerful enough to know when one felt off. And at that point, the green stache already figured how bad the news was going to be.
"O-Oh..." he sputtered, "Lemme guess-a. Those-a-hands we saw and that big-a-glowing sphere floating in the sky?"
Figuring that he spoke the obvious, Luigi then went straight to the chase.
"How bad is it-a?"
Mario simply nodded as he tilted his head down. "Whole-a-world has gone to goomba shit-a due to them - Galeem is the big sphere's name-a-supposedly."
He then glanced back at his brother.
"What-a-happened to you?" he asked bluntly, "How did-a-you find yourself here?"
Luigi took a minute to recall the events that had transpired. "W-Well-a-if I had to be frank-a-Mario, I do not-a-know. One moment I was looking at this Galeem with-a-you guys and the next thing I know is just... n-nothing-a. Everything went white. I don't-a-recollect as how I got here and what I did-a. The only thing I remember is-a-finding myself face-first on the floor and having the urge-a-to read as if nothing happened."
He paused before pointing his finger at Mario.
"And you?" he asked.
"I don't-a-remember either." the older brother sighed, "But-a-according to the survivors downstairs, I-a-was entrapped within a trophy. I... I was-a-freed and I suppose I was-a-evil because I started fighting Geno who was trying to-a-save me and~"
"Geno?" Luigi interrupted before a light-bulb seemed to ignite above him, "You-a-mean, the wooden puppet Geno that you once went on an adventure with? He's here?"
Again, the red-cladded plumber nodded. "He's-a-alive. So is the Princess."
The green stache' sighed relievingly at the good news.
"Oh good..." he replied while airing his neck collar, "I was-a-afraid that Bowser had attempted to kidnap-a-her or something again."
"He's-a-also here." Mario directly replied, "And his son apparently."
Luigi's eyes widened at the "totally terrible" news.
"THEN WHY-A-YOU'RE HERE?!" he screamed in a fit of panic, "QUICK! WE GOTTA SAVE PEACH-A-BEFORE THEY~!"
"Shhhhhh," his brother hissed through his teeth as he calmed Luigi down, "Don't-a-worry. They're-a-on our side now. If-a-you want more confirmation, we just-a-fought an evil Bowser with wings and lava pouring outta his-a-skin. He's-a-dead now. Don't-a-worry."
Luigi proceeded to calm down, taking in large deep breaths, before he gained his composure to speak once more.
"O-Oh oh... *Phew*" he sighed, his hands still shaking from the initial adrenaline rush, "T-That's also good, I-I think."
Mario patted his brother on the shoulder before guiding him towards the exit.
"Come." red stache softly gestured, "Lets-a-meet up with the others. We have yet another long adventure to embark on."
Luigi simply smiled before patting his back with a slowly-growing confident smile.
"With-a-you by my side, Mario, I'm-a-ready for whatever it takes."
It Came From: Israel (First Ever Recordings) Krakatoa, Indonesia (First Sighting In Modern Era)
Abilities:
Flight: Apollyon's giant wings allow him to fly up to supersonic speeds, destroying everything underneath with shockwave winds. Due to the size of these wings, scientists claim that they can destroy entire cities just by flying close to the ground overhead.
Hard Skin: Apollyon's wings are made of an incredibly durable substance, allowing him to tank more damage in certain places. His back, tail, and the top portion of the wings are the most durable parts. This also allows him to survive in extremely hot environments, such as within volcanoes, and is capable in retaining that heat for extended periods of time.
Heat Ray: Apollyon can fire an orange heat beam that allows him to devastate the opponent/environment with heat damage.
Sonic Roar: Apollyon can also issue a loud, low-frequency roar that is loud enough to shatter windows and potentially burst the eardrums of nearby opponents.
Weaknesses:
Belly: Apollyon's belly is the weakest part of his body. Exploit it when he flies overhead or reveals it when on the ground preparing for an attack or about to take off.
Air-Freak: Apollyon prefers to be in the air when attacking. He's more clunky when walking on the ground and is definitely much slower.
Cold Temperatures: Apollyon doesn't seem to be very fond of the cold.
History: Known by many names, Apollyon's origins are much of a mystery to many. However, ancient texts and cave paints had revealed the same monster has been around for at least 2000 years or more. In the Christian bible, it's been called "Abaddon" (or Apollyon) which is often a synonym for "Satan" or "the destroyer". They believed that he is an alternate incarnation of Satan or one of Satan's underlings who is a sign of the apocalypse. Indonesian tribes also claim for it to be some form of divine being that judges all the tribes underneath it's mighty wings.
Scientists meanwhile classify the creature as an ancient species of megafauna having lived for millions of years. It's longevity can possibly be attributed to its long slumbers in various volcanoes across the globe, while swimming through the magna chambers to one volcanic system to another. Another possibility revolves around the "Hollow Earth" theory, in which the Earth is in fact hallow and houses many extinct creatures of all shapes and sized that were able to survive most mass-extinctions virtually untouched. However, nobody is certain for what his actual origins is.
Apollyon first came to private knowledge in 1994, when the volcano of Krakatoa showed signs of abnormal activity. A US research vessel that was in the area reported these signatures to the UN, where they relayed to the highly-classified "TERRA" organization. There they continue to monitor the volcano, ready for the day where it finally shows itself...
Appearance: Resembling a heavily mutated Spinosaurus, Neurotis possesses a lean and almost skeletal appearance, with jet black skin and a slightly paler underbelly, while showing many veins and dots of bio-luminescence across her body. Her sail is naked compared to those of her organic kind and doubles as bio-luminescent signal antennas that are rumored to be able to disorient creatures in dark locations. Her skull structure drastically differs from that of a normal Spinosaurus. Being basically blind, it bears no eyes and having bony extensions on either side of it's skull. But it does have indentations on the snout and extended cheekbones that are used for echolocation. It has a mouth full of needle sharp teeth along with a thin, long and retractable tongue which end is covered with harpoon-like barbs. In each of its arms exhibit one abnormally long claw which it uses to slash at her opponents.
Size: 90 Meters Tall (328 Feet from the tip of her spines) 180 Meters Long (590 Feet)
It Came From: Egypt - (First Sighting) Terra Containment Facility Site 91 - (Eastern Siberia)
Abilities:
Cloaking: Neurotis' skin allows her to temporarily blend in with her surroundings for up to a minute. This also makes her undetectable to radar as well.
Bioluminescence: Neurotis' spines are tipped with a blue light that can glow in dark places. This can be used to confuse her opponent in said places.
Echolocation: Without eyes, Neurotis relies on echolocation to search her surroundings. It's perfect to the point where she sees just as well as a creature with eyes.
EMP: Neurotis can release a concentrated EMP within a mile-radius, shutting down any electronic device in the region for an extended period of time.
Venomous Harpoon Tongue: Neurotis can inject a venomous cocktail from her long tongue into her opponents. The venom causes the user to hallucinate and become nauseous, as well as their vision becoming blurred. It can also potentially lead the opponent to violently attack its allies if nearby. This venom can also be launched from the tongue directly into a breath attack while still in the mouth.
Weaknesses:
Glass Cannon: Neurotis' durability is rather weak compared to other kaiju specimens. While it can tank perhaps a hit or two - and is invulnerable to average military-grade weaponry - it's otherwise more susceptible to damage from other kaiju due to the lack of armor.
High-Frequency Noises: Neurotis senses can be temporarily compromised through high-pitched noises, such as sonic bombs or roars.
History:
Specimen: 1989B "Neurotis".
"Where do I even start with this thing? When I was told we had caught sight of a "Titan" sighting in the canyon regions of Egypt, I was told that it was some massive convulsing blob of black tar. They said that the blob eating everything in sight, yet it's erratic movements made it constantly on the move, away from human activity. They believed it was searching for something. Yet once I arrived from Site 91 a few days later, they've told me it had assimilated into some mutated dinosaur - a juvenile Spinosaurus to be exact.
Further research of the area lead us into a cave, where a large stretch of rock seemed to have been precisely cut from the wall. Fossils could be located everywhere, from fish, to other dinosaurs, with some species being completely new to scientific discovery. This blob must've somehow ripped through the rock in order to get into a Spinosaurus skeleton, and merged with it to become what she is now.
But how exactly...?"

"Preparing the World Against the Unknown."
Organization Name: | TERRA | "The Titan Initiative Program" |
Foundation: 1984
Founder: Matthias G. Reed
Description: A secret scientific organization formed by the UN, Terra's mission is to document and study the whereabouts of existing "titans", as well as to hunt them down in order to ensure that they do not wreck havoc on civilization. They possess access to the most high-tech of technology available - which are used to locate them and rumored to be involved in the creation of anti-titan weaponry - as well as limited access to the United States military.
History: Long before the infamous events K-Day came into the public eye, very few knew the existence of these larger-than-life organisms. However, to those selected few who'd been able to witness these suspicious creatures first hand, they knew what was coming. Once a simple "cult" revolving around proving the existence of what they call "titans", their scientific investigations and results were initially counted as "amateur" and "childishly disillusioned" with what science had to offer.
Yet the more the group studied, the more evidence did they find buried just below the surface. Leading the group was doctor and zoologist Matthias Reed, who was a major factor when documenting various instances of potential titan activity. From seismological and biological abnormalities, to pictures of strange giant skeletons, and even odd recordings of sounds unlike anything other, these remarkable discoveries eventually came to the attention of the United Nations. Convinced that the threat was indeed real, it hastily founded Terra in an attempt to locate and hunt these creatures before they could rapture them.
Since then, Terra had been more active than ever before. With the rapid increase of abnormal activity across the globe, many theorized that a mass awakening would one day reveal these Titans to the entire world - and cause certain destruction in their wake. Many preparations had been made in secret to ensure that they would be ready for when that day comes... but once it does, they have to act quickly or watch the world burn around them.
Driven away by the massive flying ark, Vulkandr and his forces retreated to avoid reaching severe casualties. Rather than retreating straight back to Mt. Eldahverr like cowards, the fire titan and his Jotundar army proceeded to hug the massive Cauldron’s base and swing back to the forests from the south. They encountered nearly no resistance among the way, or any that would definitely harm them. The river that Shenghsi brought upon the Sandravii desert was situated too far for the army to even see, thus they were unaware that they had been cut-off by this raging river.
As soon as they reached the forest, Vulkandr bellowed to his forces to run amok and set fires to the surrounding timber. Still, the fire titan was cautious this time, making sure that the skies were clear and that no other distractions would lead them astray from their mission. Soon, the outer perimeter was up in flames and it burned deeper into the forest at a rapid pace. At this point, Vulkandr indeed expected the inhabitants to flee or feebly attempt their hopeless battle against he and his forces.
Terrified ooks, squeaks and howls sounded from the woods as birds and beasts retreated from the smoking edge of the jungle. Panicking boars and primates were trapped by the flames and reduced to charred cadavers before the fury of the fire giants. The massacre rampaged through the woods for a long time; however, as if the giants had crossed an invisible border, a quaking roar boomed through the air as they entered deeper into the jungle, followed by equally menacing tremors through the soil that grew stronger and stronger as a great moving mountain blotted out Heliopolis.
The jotundar forces felt the effect the most prominently, swaying to and fro, from the massive tremors that threatened to topple them over. Yet with his massive pillar-shaped legs, Vulkandr seemed nigh affected by them. While he could feel them resonating within his body, vibrating the rock and and rippling the magma ichor within, the fire titan refused to fall over. He grimaced over the lush forests, trying to find the potential source of the quakes, yet was unable to see anything. Perhaps the threat lurked directly underground.
A sure sign of cowardliness.
Vulkandr rose one of his massive legs high into the air, still being kept balanced by the weight of the stable one, before crashing it down on a fresh grove of young trees. The sudden impact rippled across the forest, rivaling the opposing tremors in raw power. Large cracks began to form from ground zero, large enough to easily swallow animals, as they ran deep into the wilderness. Suddenly, magma began to shoot up from the cracks, forced up to greet the virgin air, as they surged high into the sky and onto the trees below. The timber and wildlife that were closest to the surges were instantly melted into oblivion, with the ground instantly becoming dry and infertile as they were given a molten bath of desolation. The giant hollered loudly into the air - bits of lava leaving his gaping maw - while he awaited to challenge the threat which dared to cease his fiery march.
A second ear-shattering roar challenged Vulkandr’s, the shadow of the moving mountain becoming apparent through the smoke and foliage. It was soon evident that it had been no mountain at all, but rather the towering shell of a colossal turtle that dwarfed the jotundar. As it walked, the earth shook and the trees quivered; the beasts of the woods all cowered behind its massive form. The turtle’s crusty eyes squinted in the flames and the monster let out another deep roar. Its glare fastened on the lava inching its way through the trees and the turtle began to retch. After a few gulps, it vomited out a small lake’s worth of water, near all of which evaporated to cool the lava.
The monster testudine’s size was immeasurably gargantuan - both in height and more so in width. It’s size easily dwarfed the barge that the fire giants had encountered in the northern expanse. Both sides were guarded and both by two different beasts of burden. However, Vulkandr wasn’t going to back down - not even from a creature of such unprecedented proportions. He knew enough about what he was combating, unlike Shengshi’s barge - that he had no visible knowledge of - and while it was strong, it surely was not a god. And if it wasn’t immortal…
It could be killed.
Such a task wouldn’t be easy, but it already gives the fire titan a chance, no matter how small, in potentially beating it. As the giant turtle regurgitated its surging flow, Vulkandr could see his fellow Joutndar brethren bracing for impact, as the water began to slowly cool the lava. The fire titan was not going to let this slide. He hastened its speed, revealing a surprising amount of speed that many would not consider possible. His pillared legs took enormous strides, stomping upon chunks of jungle woodland, while his body temperature began to rapidly rise. He halted directly in front of his forces, using his body to separate both the giants and the surge of water pouring their way.
Then, his flaming arms began to extend back, before clapping his hands together in a brunt holler. Just as the water reached him, the rapid disturbance of the air exploded as powerful flames formed an umbrella-like force-field to keep the water from advancing upon them. The aquaforce simply surged around them, only taking a few straggling joutndar that were too far in the back or beyond the perimeter of the shield, but Vulkandr was nonetheless undeterred.
As the water began to subside, the Fire Titan planted his bulky arms into the ground and released his fiery ichor into the ground. The bubbling magma bolted towards the turtle underground, before opening large holes underneath the giant turtle’s front feet. The lava underneath would then gush like a surging geyser, burning into the creature’s soles. They would rapidly begin to grow larger and larger in diameter, potentially to the point where they could engulf its feet entirely. If he could eliminate the creature’s ability to move, it could allow him to rally his troops to the creature’s side and backend, allowing the jotundar to commence their assault.
In the meantime Vulkandr began to bolt towards the water turtle, quaking the ground with each step. It set its sights upon the creature’s occupied front limbs, attempting to climb it once he’d get his hands on it. He was going to punch the living crap out of this monster, even if it’ll kill him in the end.
The turtle’s stone-skinned feet were large and heavy - too heavy to dodge the lava traps. It rumbled in pain as it tried to pull its forelimbs out of the holes, snapping its monstrous, beak-like jaw at the approaching Vulkandr, but due to its impairment, the turtle could not move in any angle that would reach him. Instead, it wrestled and pulled at the ground, ripping and cracking it with gruesome forces, all the while snarling at the little too brave jotundar who wanted to follow their master’s charge.
With his movement compromised for the moment, Vulkandr leapt upon the reptilian’s right leg and plunged his molten fists into its leg. Then it proceeded to climb, each time pouring molten magma into the creature’s body, all while the joutundar below began to circle around the titanic beast. The Titan climbed before reaching the turtle’s vulnerable head, its eyes glowing a frozen blue underneath its purplish-grey armored eyebrows. The very top of the head was otherwise exposed. And then the Fire Titan rose his fists into the air, glowing a hot yellowish-orange. With a thunderous grunt he bashed them upon his beast’s cranium, with impressive explosive force.
And then he proceeded to do it again…
And again…
And again…
Molten residue flew off Vulkandr’s fists with every pounding, each attempting to burn into the skull and melt through the tough scales. The helpless beast thrashed and shook its huge head, desperately trying to shake the giant off. However, even as it shook, other jotundar began to close in around it. As its head swung from side to side, pulling with it destructive windshear, its seared feet finally pulled out of the ground. The turtle craned its head backwards with a thunderous roar and began to charge forward, dragging its head along the ground to shake off Vulkandr.
The joutndar horde right infront of the charging beast would feel the worst of it, as many were flattened by the huge lumbering head. Only those that were able to flank the turtle’s body would survive the massacre of their brethren. The Fire Titan, meanwhile, held on to dear-life as he found himself being dragged alongside the crusted ground below. His grip was indomitable, but it wouldn’t last forever. He was already beginning to slip, already reaching the tip of the turtle’s left eyebrow.
Vulkandr bellowed as he rose one of his fists in the air - the magmatic ichor spewing from his vacant fist - only to reform into a large blade-like weapon. Engraved in strengthened obsidian crust, with a fiery core within, the Titan proceeded to inject it into the creature’s body. He aimed for around the creature’s eye, however the blade would strike just underneath the eyelid. He latched on for a few more seconds as the molten poison surged into the creature, before the blade broke and he found himself falling back onto the ground below.
The turtle’s enormous eye closed at the pain, and while the beast did not look to be blinded, the molten sword formed a black spot on the otherwise water-like, blue eye. The stone-skinned eyelid closed over the wounded orb and the beast nearly tumbled over. Now, it began to slow down, turning around to face its adversary, though it was evidently warier now than before. With ragged breathing and one closed eye, it stood still and calculating, waiting for its enemies to strike first.
Vulkandr’s efforts were not in vain, yet he knew all too well that this battle isn’t over just yet. His efforts need to be concentrated on either blinding the turtle beast completely or, more directly, in blasting open the turtle’s vulnerable head from the wound he caused. But with his opponent looking more wary upon the situation at hand, the Fire Titan needed to plan his attacks carefully. So as long as it remained on the creature’s blindside, could he have a chance in beating it.
Vulkandr formed his hands over his chest, as a fiery substance began to charge up in the space provided. Then, with a sudden release, the Titan fired it at the creature’s head. It needed to know what else this creature could do before it could continue its assault. The turtle had not been particularly fast, but in this, at least, the angle was satisfactory to allow a simple turn to put the magma ball on a trajectory towards its shell rather than its head, upon which the magma splattered like a rotten fruit. The stone shell glowed red at the heat, but the turtle seemed unharmed overall and shot Vulkandr a hateful glare - however, it kept its position all the same.
The Fire Titan continued to eye the turtle carefully. Surely fire of any kind will prove useless against it, but it seemed that the defender was keeping up its defensive position. Unsatisfied, Vulkandr injected his burly arms back into the ground as magma rushed underneath. This time, they seemed to surge around the beast, as cracks could be seen forming on the surface. Suddenly, large mounds began to rise from the ground, each forming at a diagonal position. All nine that had formed would be facing the massive guardian - their cauldrons armed and ready like battle cannons. The beast shoot quick looks where it could, quickly placing its armoured underside on the ground in preparation.
Then another surge of energy from the titan forced the volcanic batteries to fire their concentrated beams of magma fire upon the giant. They curved at an angle, each finding their mark upon the turtle’s hardened shell. Smart was the defender for shielding its vulnerable underbelly from taking more unwarranted damage, yet the lava would still find itself slowly burning into the colossal shell.
This wouldn’t do for Vulkandr.
But with the beast becoming distracted by the make-shift cannons, the giant proceeded to make another mad run towards the creature’s lowered head. At the height were it was situated, he could jump onto it with little effort at all. Meanwhile, several of the joutundar proceeded to find themselves running towards the colossus itself and attempting to leap back onto its head to issue more explosive hits.
Several would find themselves at the base of its shell and began to make the perilous climb up its shell like mere ants. They may not be able to hurt the beast directly, but that won’t stop them from figuring out how to if at all.
The beast rumbled and Vulkandr suddenly found himself slowly closing in on the shell, as if he had sat himself on a large moving belt. Soon, however, it became clear that the head was retracting in under the stoney shell, along with its limbs.
The titan’s projection fell short as the turtle’s head began to retreat into its shell. Vulkandr would only find itself punching the ground below him and while it attempted to run towards it, it would be fruitless. By the time he got anywhere close, the head had already found refuge within its fortress of a body. Even as he attempted to brute force into it, he would find it fruitless to enter. The joutundar would also find themselves being pulled in by the turtle’s retracting limbs, forcing most to hop off. But to those who would find themselves still latching onto them, they would be instantly squashed by the claustrophobic conditions from within, turning them into a reddish-orange paste of molten ichor.
The turtle had essentially turned into a massive mountain of a fortress.
Their lava could barely scratch the surface of the beast’s nigh-destructable shell and with all of the weak-spots being safe-guarded within, it had virtually became invulnerable. Vulkandr roared infuriatingly, pounding both fists together, as he took a big step back to think about the next point of action. Hurting it directly didn’t seem to work. Brute force would hardly scrape it and lava would only find itself flowing down its shell or solidifying to become one with the turtle - adding the armor to its arsenal. Even the jotundar would have an even harder time scouting the massive kilometer-wide shell for any breaks in the carapace. Perhaps given a hundred years or so they could eventually break through, but no time of that caliber was available to them.
The titan needed some additional support.
But in order to secure their chances, they needed to first completely immobilize the turtle from just standing up and walking away. So the Fire Titan plunged his fists into the ground once more, but proceeded to make an ever-expanding hole underneath the beast. It was nearly equivalent to that of his initial plan, only it planned to bring the entire creature down with it. Once it encompassed the shell’s diameter, could it fall into the molten substance.
With it seemingly becoming compromised, Vulkandr rose back onto its feet and rose its arms into the heavens. There it began to issue a variety of different bellows, grunts, and hisses, in various different pitches and tones as if it was chanting to the skies above. But it was not the aether gods that he was appeasing to…
”GAAAAAAGHH!”
Sartr’s raged seethed ominously upon hearing the humiliating defeat with Slaevatein and his dragon army. He kicked over a large boulder as it was launched itself into one of Muspellheim’s many lava pools, dissolving slowly within. He then proceeded to sulk upon his throne, with a solid grimace planted firmly on his fiery face. To say that he was utterly displeased was an understatement, yet one that didn’t cause him to go fully ballistic.
Sartr knew deep down that these first few battles was to test the air for what the gods could do, not necessarily as assured victories. They were simply test runs and nothing more. Still, the fact that his proud hydra was close to victory, only for it to be snagged away by the vile Shengshi had him smoldering nonetheless. If the hydra and the dragons could lose so brutally to foes like the ones on the River God’s ship, he feared the worst that could befall on the giant Vulkandr and the jotundar as a whole.
Then his ears picked up something - a faint rumbling in the air. The fire god rose to get a better ear to the noise, before recognizing the call of the Fire Titan himself. What a coincidence for the two to be thinking about one another at the same time. Sartr continued to listen, eventually recognizing that it was a chant for assistance. They had secured a giant turtle guardian in place, but need further assistance in wanting to exterminate it.
The flame god’s frown turned to a gleaming smile, with his fires flickering even more so in excitement.
”Oh valiant Vulkandr,” Sartr rumbled praisingly, ”How your loyal prayers shall be answered generously. The great river god Shengshi had blighted my mood just mere moments before, but alas I shall not let his victory go undeterred!
The flaming god proceeded to step off his throne before plunging his massive arms into the ground.
”Let the fires ruin the dobbling beast for its foolish attacks.” he announced pridefully, ”Let his cowardliness become his utter downfall. Let the guardian of the Nanhe feel the wrath of the mighty Sartravius!””
”“AND LET HIS FORESTS BURN TILL NOTHING REMAINS!”
On the surface, a massive quake began to violently rock the entire battlefield before it. Vulkandr’s chanting had long since ceased by then, as he ordered his forces to makeway for whatever their fiery god had planned for them. Their prayers will be answered. Their savior was coming to help them. And as they watched patiently for their reinforcements to arrive, the shaking suddenly seemed to stop.
And with an earth-shattering roar, the massive creature bellowed out a cry that would resonate for miles. The wrath of Sartr had been unleashed, in the form of his own walking mountain of fire - the “Molten-Fortress”.
The turtle, which had been tipped onto its back from the impact and then - thankfully - gathered enough momentum to roll back onto its feet again, fixed its functional eye on the mountain and the ever-encroaching jotundar. It shot Vulkandr an icy-eyed, hateful glare, but it was short-lived; more important was inspecting his flanks, one of which contained a volcano on legs and the other of which filled with what remained of the fire giants. The turtle looked ahead - its earlier charge had put the army of fire between it and the forest. A gamble was to be made for survival - one that counted on the walking mountain adhering to the normally slow movement speed of stone. The fire giants could be shaken off - even Vulkandr, and so the turtle made its decision. With a roar that could shatter rock, the colossal turtle charged straight towards the Nanhese jungle with speed unforeseen - for a turtle, that is.
The fiery mountain slowly turned to face this petty turtle, but by the time it could even turn its head the creature had already retreated into the bush. So there it stood, over a sea of burning green, looking down at what it was left with. The creature bellowed another roar of victory before it proceeded to lay down. Vulkandr simply laughed at their glorious victory, roaring to his fellow jotun brothers that they had won the battle thanks to their glorious fire god. They in turn would raise their arms and shout victoriously as they rallied to their leader’s position.
Then, from atop the living mountain, the Molten-Fortress’ summit - already slightly chipped off from impacting the guardian’s underbelly - began to glow before a powerful explosion blew off a huge chunk of its top. It bellowed lava and fiery debris everywhere, until leaving only a mere crater in the middle. But it wasn’t a mere random act of self-destruction.
Rising from atop the volcanic fortress, Sartr rose to greet his proud warriors with his hands straight in the air.
”“You’ve done your fire god well!” he boomed with a hearty laugh, ”I have nothing but praise for my valiant warriors of Sartr. Fellow Slaevatein had failed me today, but you all have done me proud! Let this mark as a glorious day for the start of our glorious conquest!”
Vulkandr and his forces stood to attention and cheered at their master’s statement.
”But!” the God continued more composurely, ”. We must prepare for the next stage of our conquest, along for the battles yet to come. Head westwards and establish a camp with our new pet. More allies will come to your aid in due time, including the Hydra and his forces. For no doubt the gods will be scrambling to hit us next, but we will be ready for them! We won’t move an inch! This is only just the beginning - And we will not surrender to my pitiful brothers and sisters!”
Sartr then proceeded to return to Muspelheim, along with the massive turtle burrowing underground with him. Vulkandr soon bellowed out to his joutndar army and they proceeded to head westward to assemble and plan their next attack. The clock was ticking.
- Vulkandr and his bois start setting fire to the jungle south of the Cauldron. -This angers Chuanwang, who comes over to challenge them. -Vulkandr makes lava on the floor, so Chuanwang vomits up water all over it. -Vulkandr then traps him and starts smacking him in the head. -Chuanwang thinks this is hella annoying, so he charges ahead to shake him off, smashing lotsa jotundar in the process. -Vulkandr stabs him in the eye before he is thrown off. Chuanwang, now blind on one eye, starts going on the defensive, going turtle-mode. -Vulkandr and co.’s efforts are wasted on its shell, so the fire giants pray to Sartr for help. -Sartr agrees and makes a volcano “turtle” under Chuanwang. -The volcano turtle is big and scary, and together with Vulkandr and his bois, they make up a big force. -Chuanwang thus retreats hella fast. Sartr then comes out of the mountain and congratulates his bois, but then wants them to go westwards and establish a “camp” of sorts. -Mt. Turtle then buries down again.
With Forde finally revealing himself from the tent, the skiddish boy threw a bag of gold towards Haley's way and accepted to join their cause - well, after he finds his map that is. Titanica didn't expect this all to go down so easily and quick as it did, yet nonetheless they had completed their mission. She doesn't have to see his wretched face for a long while.
As they proceeded to move along, Mordus came out of the tent only to come face to face with Titanica's bestial form. Frightened by her presence, he darted into the snow and vanished behind the conifers. The titan snorted bluntly, with hot steam exhaling from her nostrils, before Haley asked both her and Vãra whether they wanted to eat something first before they head back to the guild.
"I wouldn't mind." she replied as she lifted her massive weight from her resting position, before at last returning to her human form.
The birds was no match for the sheer might and size of Morgan's moth form, as they merely bounced off her body like rubber balls. Morgan kept up the assault, using her wings in an attempt to blow the troublesome avians and her lightning to bring ruin against their colossal sling-shots. At this rate, she was sure that the effects of the hallucinogens will be rid of and that they'll be able to be back in consciousness shortly...
But then she heard it. A massive squawk rumbled through the air with menacing intent. Morgan froze as she saw a dark shadow cast over her and the two Altissima sisters. Whatever was approaching them was many times bigger than then, even for a giant moth titan like herself. It was another avian, however one that resembled what her clan knew as "Eagles". At first, she almost confused it for another fellow titan, but in a dream-world as bizarre as this one, it would be too good to be true. The bird was primed at her position, rushing with surprising speed and power behind it.
"Uh-Oh."
In a split-second of instinctual panic, Morgan's titanic wings spread out in all directions. And in a valiant cry, her body exploded into a massive orb of light, spreading her god-like rays across the entire battlefield before the eagle collided with her. And then...
Aside from the deafening ringing that rattled through her skull, Morgan slowly opened her eyes to hear shouting coming close by. It was coming from Neil. She slowly rose alongside the Altissima sisters, already feeling a mighty headache stabbing her petite head like knives. He explained how they were flying all over the place and commented on how fast they were, before stating how he tried to stop them from getting hurt.
Soon the doctor arrived on the scene and more commotion rang around the laboratory. Neil and the head scientist were arguing about the situation, with the former being seemingly oblivious and non-concerned about what had happened. Sylvia meanwhile was already threatening the scientist for his incompetence.
"That 'Huwana' is NOT fit for consumption! No wonder the Alchemist Guild banned it! Hell! I'd revoke your apothecary's license if I could! Did you even test it on non-sentient animals first?"
Morgan finally rose to her feet, feeling a little wobbly in her knees, but was able to stand. She finally understood why the guild had banned the substance. She faced the others with a tired expression, before she spoke her part regarding this entire event.
"This hallucinogenic substance is similar to an herb my tribe would use to speak with our ancestors." she reminisced softly, "We called it "Cosmidust". If consumed correctly, while directly supervised with a shaman, we could enter a realm beyond the mortal plane of existence and speak to past relatives and respected members of our clan. But if it's improperly consumed, one would instead proceed to embark on a terrible trip in terrifying visions and nightmarish scenarios. If not held down by the people in the room, they are at risk of accidentally killing themselves, even willingly in some cases."
She then frowned before turning to the doctor.
"It was NEVER to be used for medical consumption of any kind," Morgan boldly claimed, her voice becoming amplified somewhat by a mysterious force, "Let alone be used by mortal minds alone. And this substance you call 'Huwana' is far more potent than 'Cosmidust' in its entirety!"
She then approached a table close to her, hopping on a chair, before taking the incense burner that seemed to contain this substance.
"And you call this an 'anesthetic'?" she asked sternly, her presence continuing to amplify significantly as she showed him the burner. "How shameless! If you were truly a doctor, you would be well aware of its harmful effects. And the implications! Do you know how many lives would perish under your hands if used irresponsibly?!"
“How wonderful to see you both. It hurt so terribly to know that you were held captive in the dungeon, Mario, and not do anything about it."
Mario smiled bashfully upon hearing Peach speak, his plump cheeks already growing a light hue of red as he lifted his cap and placed it on his chest. She was always able to give him para-goombas floating around in his stomach, even after saving her countless of times for over three decades. How does he always find himself the courage to keep going, even he doesn't fully understand. But it always felt great to save her, almost as if he saved her for the very first time all those years ago. Still, he sighed before giving a sympathetic smile towards her.
"It's-a-OK, Princess." the plumber replied understandingly, "I-a-always find my way outta sticky situations. But your-a-safety is my only concern. As long as you're-a-safe, you don't-a-have to worry about-a-me."
This wasn't Mario's first time being captured by the bad-guys either. His brother, Luigi, had saved him several times before - one from Bowser and his minions from the clutches of the ghostly King Boo - and, funnily enough, even Peach herself once saved him from the Koopa King's clutches (granted she had some help with her parasol Parry and the power of emotions(?)). Those were indeed some strange times for the Mushroom Kingdom back then.
“And Geno." Peach gave the polite doll a curtsy. The wooden doll would look up in attention. “It's been a very long time. I'm glad you're well."
"Thank you, my lady." he replied with a bow, "It's always an honor to fight alongside you again."
“My apologies for a less-than-proper introduction. I figured I'd do what I... hm, you know, do best. To thank you all."
The 'stached plumber already recognized and what she was going to do. No doubt that she made some of the finest pastries and cakes in all of the Mushroom Kingdom and today will be no exception. Even then, Mario never dared to ask anything more. He was grateful with anything that he got from Peach, whether he and his brother received cake and/or a simple peck on the cheek or nose. It would be extremely rude to ask something more for someone as kind-hearted as the Princess.
“In the mean time, the castle's yours. Feel free to go anywhere you want. Or, you could stay here. With this much help, things should be ready in a half hour or so, but we can always use more."
That's when the newcomer Ratchet proceeded to finally join in the conversation, stating that he could help with the preparations as well, before being assigned an event to partake in by Peach.
And then up comes Bowser, who tried to pick-up Peach with his "rich" vocabulary. Mario gave the Koopa King a stink eyed glare, warning him to stay way, before he decided to move on towards the kitchen... and pick up one of the female chefs there.
"I will be within the main plaza." Geno would then say, "Perhaps I'll also scout out the premises for any abnormalities and straggling opponents that are still lingering."
With another bow, the doll proceeded to excuse himself from the dining hall, regardless of any order he was given, and headed back to where the party was. Mario remained however, already reminiscing about his past memories, before he slowly approached the royal blonde with a worried expression.
"And-a-another thing if I may ask," Mario asked Peach concerningly as he sat next to her on one of the many royal dining chairs, "Have-a-you seen Luigi by any chance-a? Or Yoshi, or Daisy, or any of our friends since the incident?"
"God Hand?" Spyro asked with a confused look after Gene's bombastic intro, "Huh, that's an interesting title. Do you, like, have a hand that smites opponents directly into oblivion or...?"
Gene then proceeded to give a demonstration regarding his abilities, however he seemed to have forgotten most of his techniques as he was feeling rather confused with the situation entirely, even believing he had to regain his techniques as they traveled. Looks like he caught on quickly as Spyro nodded in confirmation.
"I think almost everyone's powers got sapped once we got here." the purple dragon replied, "At least you were able to get here without being first transformed into a mindless minion - or so I think. Cuz, believe me, that's not a good way to go about your life."
Gene then asked Spyro as to who everyone was and essentially as why they were all here.
"It's... uh, kind of a long story." the dragon shrugged as he looked around as if to suddenly gain all the knowledge, "I'm Spyro by the way. And uh, to my knowledge, it goes like~"
"Galeem had imprisoned nearly all of the characters in the multiverse after launching a devastating attack." Geno's words would sound as he approached Gene from around the corner, "Everyone, with the exception of one - Kirby - was transformed into a mindless puppet of the divine seraphim. Kirby used his power to free some of us and now we're attempting to gather up as many allies as we can to stop Galeem and hopefully restore balance to the multiverse."
