Once upon a time, I used to cheer for May the 4th... now I cry with disappointment. *Except Clone Wars S7 and the Mandalorian - they are awesome*

As Elijah walked towards the summoning table, she couldn't help but to spot a smiling fairy fluttering towards her. The muscular barbarian didn't seem to take much note of her until the dainty little thing landed on her shoulder up in her face.

"Wassup muscle lady!" Rose energetically blurted out before catching her own accent.

Elijah's head cocked to the side as she eyed the fairy closely before giving a light smile back at her.

"Oh hello there," the tall woman answered as she eyed the little creature, "And who migh' you be, lil' Miss Pixie-Person?"

The fairy introduced herself as Rose, but made it clear that she was not in her natural body. It was yet another form that the cards had given her to assist her own abilities. She seemed friendly enough, at least according to Elijah. However the same couldn't be said for her own card, as a mummified arm sprung up to smack Rose away from her master's shoulder.

"'Ey ey," Elijah coaxed softly as she poked at Imhotep's rotting arm back, "No need to be rude towards our new friend. My body's no temple like yours."

Regardless of the response, the muscular warrior would be interrupted as she noticed the others grouping up and supposedly discussing the next mission at hand.

She would be given the scroll containing the information regarding their next mission - a neon-city shrouded against the darkness while having an odd affinity for clocks. Their goal was to loot the city of her riches, while at the same time they had to avoid the police patrolling it. It was a classic game of cat and mouse - or in this case, cops and robbers. As the portal began to open, the barbarian would be find herself near a group of three, being comprised of the fairy she met, a little blonde girl, and blue-haired woman wielding a key-shaped blade. The blonde one would notice Elijah, as she walked over to greet the giant newcomer.

"Hey, there! If you are here on your own, am I correct to think that you have no group to explore the new world as well? If that's the case, would you matter teaming up?"

Up until now, she had been used to fighting through the dungeons alone, without any party members (save for her card) assisting in her valiant quest. But her last boss had proven that she won't be able to solo through without a substantial amount of assistance. Even her cards won't be enough to save her ass alone. Thus she quickly came to the conclusion that it would be smarter for her to join them.

"Sure thang!" Elijah replied determinedly as she kneeled to shake the girl's hand, who in turned introduced herself with a gleaming smile, "I'd gladly to be joinin' yer team. And I'm Elijah, by the way."

Once she entered the portal, the barbarian would find herself within the city described in the scroll. Everything here would've looked much like her home town, other then the fact that giant clocks could be seen perched on the highest skyscrapers and that the public crowd was almost as dense as Tokyo in rush hour. And being someone of her stature, she couldn't help but feel like she was sticking out like a sore thumb. This would seem to be true as they would soon find themselves in the attention of a dark-winged school girl, who asked why they were here at such an hour. Elijah silently gazed at the girl, her hands gripped tightly around her giant warhammer, as she expected the others to speak out on their behalf.

But knowing how things usually turned out, the barbarian was more than ready to fight at a moment's notice.

We're still open and ready to accept fresh meat!

"Akane Yashiro"

"I'm going into the field myself. I'm the best damn scout we got, this is a prime opportunity to examine Queenie up close and personal. Not everyday I see such a rare creature and I hate second hand reports."
Akane Yurei

Her statement, however, would instantly be overruled by the Commander.

"Negative." the Commander firmly ordered as her scarlet eye turned towards Yurei, "We don't have the time or units onboard for such a risky ordeal. Your top priority is to~"

"I can look for survivors and wayward troops while I'm at it." she seemed to cockily reply as she laughed towards the exit, "Don't try to stop me."

Yashiro wouldn't take her nonchalant response lightly. She knew fully well of her being very hardheaded and one to jump into the middle of the fray, however rarely if ever did she defy her superior officer's word. So whenever it did happen - like now - it would seem to strike a nerve within her. A good chunk of her fellow units had already attempted to issue their own bold sacrifices, risking their lives against a powerful kaiju they were not currently prepared to fight. The Commander was not going to risk letting her finest unit perish in battle.

"I gave you a direct order, Agent Yurei." the cyborg commander coldly responded as her mechanical arm began twitching ever so slightly, "I expect you to follow it. Both for you and the safety of the MFF."

But Miss Yueri, being sly as ever, looked over her shoulder and grinned. "It's never worked in the past nor will it ever."

With that, she donned her mask and proceeded to disappear into thin air, leaving her Commander back on the bridge for her to deal with this alone. With a disgruntled sigh, Commander Yashiro proceeded to take matters solely in her hands as she observed the Dragon Queen overseeing the entire city while her rescue team took off to retrieve the fallen.

While the MFF began to recover their fallen units, it would appear that the Dragon Queen's presence would be short lived. Her massive wings extended outwards before launching herself into the sky, leaving as soon as she arrived. Yashiro and her team would also see that Terrorkeet had also proceeded to retreat herself, but not before launching something, or rather someone, into the sky.

"Commander." one of the operators hailed, "We have just detected another kaiju being assisted by Terrorkeet."

Yashiro eyed the main screen in confusion, before noting a vague outline of an unidentified kaiju traveling up within the spiraling vortex.

"Enhance." the commander noted as she closely analyzed the footage. However, as they enhanced in one its position, they couldn't get a secure visual on the kaiju's appearance due to the intense wind turbulence. All they could pinout in that it was a white, quadruped, creature which possibly possessed fur. But the real question was how did it remain undetected? Could it be that it simply arrived late to the party? Or was it participating since the beginning and it somehow was able to cloak itself in plain sight? Questions upon questions flooded Yashiro's mind as she tried to piece together the entire story, but almost everything seemed to defy logical reasoning. This was one of Yashiro's most humiliating defeats in her recent record and it shamed her to think about it.

She turned away from the screen and found herself talking to the chief operator.

"Contact all high-ranking officials to meet me at the briefing room." the Commander ordered gloomily as she made her way towards the exit, "There is much that needs to be discussed."

After several minutes weaving through the winding streets, Samus finally made her way back to the hangar. She was cautious about any potential stalkers that might take a malevolent interest in her abilities, however as far as she knew she had nothing to fear. With the Rodians on the run, the bounty hunter could at least rule them off as harmless at this point.

As she entered her ship, Samus could see Thaz patiently waiting for her within a passenger seat.

"Simple and quick. Best kind of jobs. Bounty hunting here doesn't seem much different from back home. Find a target, shoot it. Taken plenty of heads before myself. I think I'll fit in just fine."
Thaz

"Don't be so sure." Samus responded as she sat down and prepared the ship for launch, "In my experience, bounty hunting can be quite a... complicated profession. I have a feeling the missions are going to get more complex then this."

She looked back at her alien partner.

"Be prepared for anything that happens next."

With that, her gunship began vibrating as it slowly ascended before thrusting into space.

As soon as Samus tucked away her quarry's tusk in her arm component and walked back towards the hangar, she would be hailed by the commanding Kaleesh warrior. Catching the datapad with her exposed hand, her visor shined off the valiant lights as she gave an appreciative nod towards the warriors that then proceeded to chase after the straggling Rodians. Whatever schematics were hidden within that pad, she reckoned that they would come in handy one way or another. She'll have to look at the full list when she gets back. It was then when Thaz contacted her once again.

"Everything clear for you? The fat green one dropped quick. You get something off of him?"
Thaz

"Only its tusk." the bounty hunter replied as she glanced down at the bloody thing, which was still tipped with mangled nerve endings and all, "Think of it as a confirmation of authenticity. Now head back to the hangar. We're done here."
@LordOfTheNight Cassandra could be a possible new recruit.

Once I finish my croc person, he might become a new recruit to the Runners as well.
