Why are you here when you should be writing posts?

You can edit a bad draft, but you cannot edit a blank page.

I'm still looking forward to Liza joining the group. Because yay more people.

@Lord Wraith It has occurred to me that I am not altogether certain what that rough fifty number mentioned in your first post pertains to. Is it the number of people in the convoy or the number of vehicles?

Also, how long has it taken them to get from Maine to Pointe Bordeaux? A quick google tells me that it could be done in two days(in the summer) if one really wanted to push one's self, but more comfortably in 4. And with varying ages of people and cars, and probably more than a few stops along the way to try picking up others.... I'll assume travel time is over 4 days, but by how much?

Also, how many hypes did Tarvos start with? In Maine...

Huh, so I did make that rather vague didn't I? I honestly can't remember what I intended it to mean but I'm going to say it's fifty vehicles. Over all, the Hyperhumans in the convoy probably total between a hundred fifty to two hundred assuming each vehicle can hold three to four people. Which in the case of some of the vans and campers this is an underestimate but then you have to consider the convoy includes at least three motorcycles.

Honestly I want to give the impression that at this point the convoy is sort of wandering aimlessly as in they have no true goal in mind. That said, the former Sanctuary they were seeking was Larissa. So we could say that the trip from Maine to North Carolina took four days, accounting for overnight stops, food and fuel runs, bathroom breaks for young ones, and generally due to taking back roads instead of main highways.

Tarvos would have likely started with himself and seven others including Belle and Serena. The rest he's picked up travelling between states from Maine down to Louisiana.

@Lord Wraith AND EVERYONE ELSE, I'm just too lazy to ping you all.

I had a thought, actually, I had it before when talking about the impression Lucas would get off of Gareth's bag, and then forgot it and just remembered it while trying to sleep. So, uhh I should have been asleep hours ago and if this makes no sense, I'll fix it when I'm properly awake.

Anyway!

I was thinking that one way Lucas might make himself useful to the convoy is to vet people wanting to join. Sort of give them a slightly less intrusive but not really pat down of their belongings in an effort to make sure they aren't bringing along any unwanted baggage that could cause trouble later on. Of course, there's no guarantee that he'd catch everything, but it's better than nothing when trusting strangers without a few caveats is a bad idea.

I don't know how long he's been a part of this particular convoy yet, but I imagine he would have done it for the convoy he was a part of that probably joined up with Tarvos' at some point, so it could be a relatively easy 'tradition' to introduce.

Could be a public thing, just anyone wanting to join hands over their stuff with anyone else around able to watch and listen in, or might be a private affair with just them, Lucas, Tarvos and any other unofficial convoy leader, maybe. Dunno. Just figured I'd write down my thoughts before I forget them again or we get past the point of it being useful.

This would require some coordination on our parts, since I'd have to make sure I'm having Lucas say the right things. But I can leave out, or vague up anything that you want to be a surprise plot point down the road, provided I can think up some good cover for it, anyway. >.> Hopefully you'd help with that if my brain dies. It's relatively easy to slip things past Lucas though, if there's enough distraction. He'd be trying his best, but he's fallible.

Thoughts? Good? Bad? Forget I ever thought it?

This sounds good to me.

THE CONVOY
Outside Pointe Bordeaux

"Come in child." Serene's voice called as she stood up from her chair. Knees wobbling as she braced herself with her cane before taking a couple steps forward. Reaching out, she lifted a large towel off a nearby hanger before stretching a feeble arm towards Lucas. "How have you been keeping? The drive from Larissa was a rather long one." She stated sinking back into her chair as she gestured for Lucas to take a seat as well. "Things are very different now than they were when we were on the island. To think that glorious building is simply sitting empty, slowly fading away."

"Something is happening outside." Serena said suddenly as she sat up in her seat. Turning towards the window Serena motioned to Lucas and she could sense the fear and alarm of several members of the convoy who had stopped working and moved into a small crowd. From the swamp at the edge of the old plantation a figure stumbled forward with another slung over their shoulders. A black beret made its way through the crowd as Tarvos turned his attention to the commotion.

Emerging from the small crowd of gathered onlookers, Tarvos moved towards the pair that had stumbled out of the swamp. His hand shifted slowly to his hip, brushing back his trenchcoat as his palm came to rest on the stock of his gun. A subtle click could be hard as Tarvos released the safety with his thumb before taking another step forward. His nostrils flailed as he inhaled, despite the stench of the swamp, the unmistakable odor of the city hung onto the girl's clothing. The boy slung over her shoulder however was a different case, he smelled of sweat and dust, the signs of a traveler.

"Do ye pose a threat to this convoy or its people." Tarvos called towards the woman, his hand remained calmly posed over his weapon as he watched her body language. His keen ears honing in on her already racing heart beat intending to find any falsehood in her words.

THE CAJUN QUARTER
Outside the Harlot Cafe

The old jeep rumbled to a stop, its occupants barely waiting for the engine to turn off before they clambered out of the open vehicle. Running through the door out of the pouring rain, the men looked around at the chaos inside.

"What the fuckin' hell happened in here?" The first man said scratching at his beard. "Get them up." He ordered motioning to the three behind him to pick up the men whose asses had been soundly kicked.

"Remy, stop yer screeching and pull that sliver out of your hand." He yelled at the man before continuing. "That Hype convoy is sitting out at Old Man Foster's plantation and Fairchild is giving away the hardware to put them down. So get your asses up and lets get ourselves some guns to go and feed some freaks to the gators."

"Are you fuckin' kidding me Landin?" Remy's voice was almost an unnaturally high pitch as he screamed at the other man. "I need a fuckin' ambulance here." He motioned with his one good arm to the collapsed men around the cafe. "These guys need a hospital, we ain't in no condition to go Hype shootin'."

"If I hadda known y'all would be pussies about it, I wouldn't have wasted my time comin' here." Landin replied turning towards the door. "Looks like we're going to need fresh blood. Jack, Tom, Barry, lets go!" Landin yelled as the four ran out the building as quickly as they had burst in taking off towards City hall.
Mate sa-WAIT.

I don't know what language this is. But I do know I don't speak it.
Going to start working on a post. Probably do one for our lovely NPCs first and then stir up some trouble for anyone walking around aimlessly.
Well in good news I have found a replacement tail light. I just have to pick it up and install it after class now haha.
I am behind. But I will hopefully catch up tomorrow and post. I just have to hunt down a new tail light for my car since mine has disappeared...
@Stein I have a crutch word, you know this!
What does nice even mean? There's a least five more common words that mean nice and plenty more if you crack open a thesaurus :P
@Atrophy In terms of the world, for the most part assume all political leaders are still the same. Pop culture is the same including the publication of comics. Aside from those in certain circles most people wouldn't have realized that there are people with powers in the world until about 2014. Plus having DC, Marcel and the like establishes the idea that having super powers should mean fighting crime.

Chapters more refers to the use of subplots with. As each subplot closes that's essentially a chapter done and the main plot will move ahead. Of course I wrote the posted subplot before really getting my thoughts together so I will likely rewrite and then post to reflect the changes. Plus it will give the rest of you something to do haha.
Hey no. It's not a blank check. Its clearly got an amount on it. Just making sure its the right amount. Totally not trying to get you for over 2 million dollars, my lord.

Alright I'll give it a look but as I recall the powers were fine when I originally viewed the sheet.
