Dark Knight Returns seems more like what R2 is referring to. Superman actually gets weaker with age in the Beyond timeline. Whereas he only gets stronger in the Dark Knight timeline as written by Frank Miller. Compare him only being able to run fast and jump tall buildings in All Star Batman and Robin to his ability spectrum in DKR.

When Kara looks at Kal she doesn't see a Kryptonian she sees an Earthling, a Terran, whatever you want to call people of Earth. He has the biology but he isn't a Kryptonian. To her he is just a another farm boy who just happened to develop super powers. No different than any other human.
Hell he may not even have been born on Krypton, see Justice League Gods & Monsters or one of its shorts for an example. If I remember it right.

The whole argument seems irrelevant since she would be aware she was held in cryo-stasis for however long therefore while she's from a time before, she hasn't actually lived longer or accomplished more than Kal. Logic dictates that she should actually recognize Kal as the superior in this particular situation.

I have no idea what an OOC is for but everyone else seems to be redeclaring interest so I shall as well! (also posted character sheet over in the character sheet area)
An OOC is for out of character talk so players can discuss plans, relationships and plot ideas. As well as give general feedback and thoughts towards the RP in general. Ideally this is where you hash out what exactly you want to accomplish in the RP and how to do it.
Anyone have a suggestion for a different superhero name for Kara. Supergirl and Superwoman will not be considered.
Looked at the D.C. Wikia and only other names I saw were Matrix, Andromeda, and one from Krypton's fiction, same fiction that Nightwing came from.
Valkyrie seems like a good fit.
Knockout and Bombshell both come to mind, although they are used by other DC Characters, albeit minor ones.
As suggested, a military rank could work if it aligns with her backstory.
Galatea is also a good one for reason you're already aware of. Other names for Greek Mythology come to mind such as Antigone, and Nike.
