When a group of players click and the posts keep roling in, that's what GM dreams are made of.

July 17th, 2017 - 18:30 | Justice League Headquarters - Metro Tower

Leaning under the terrace of the Metro Tower, Rose Wilson watched as a crowd of new heroes gathered for the League's 'orientation'. She still had no idea how she, the daughter of Deathstroke the Terminator had managed to land an invitation to this party but perhaps Nightwing had vouched for her.

"He always did see the 'good' in me." Rose muttered to herself, taking a drag from the cigarette held daintly between her two fingers. While smoking may not have been the best habit, Rose had always been told if she was going to do it, she was going to do it right. And thus, Rose had been training to smoke like a lady. Far easier to get information out of a target in a low cut dress with your chest stuck out while you took a drag than it was hunched over with a hand on one knee.

Photographers from the Daily Planet, National Inquirer and hell even the Gotham Gazette had gathered outside of Metro Tower, taking the every opportunity they got to fill their gossip columns with the latest who's who and who's using their powers to get it on. The Gazette in particular was rather obsessed with the sex lives of superheroes. One might even say the columnist had a fetish for it.

Noticing Batman moving through the crowd, Rose studied his movement. While the Bat was hardly known for lollygagging, he was clearly more determined than usual. Perhaps a mission had come up, Rose could use just about any excuse to get away from the press and the whole ceremony aspect. She didn't care for this side of heroics and doubted that it would ever grow on her.

Extinguishing the cigarette against the wall behind her, Rose crushed the remnants of the butt beneath her hell before moving into the crowd of other costumed fighters. Watching as Batman pulled aside the Question, Rose moved to put herself in Batman's way only for him to tap her on the shoulder.

"You... I need you too..." His words were perhaps the sweetest melody to Rose's ears as she nodded solemnly, trying not to show her eagerness.

"Everyone to the hangar, we're taking a jump-ship south." Batman said getting straight to the point.

Rose was already in her costume, having not wanted to reveal her identity like most of the others here. How Superman had gone maskless for the better part of the last century and not been outed was beyond her ability to reason. Returning to the tower's exterior, Rose quickly visited her weapon's locker. Arming herself with her pistols and swords, she ensured she brought her different ammunition types -- just in case.

Making her way to the hanger, Rose noticed the other recruits that Batman had chosen for this particular mission. The first that caught her eye was the girl with scales.

Scales? Really Rose, nevermind the fuckin' tail.

She had to question Batman's tactical assement on this one. However, perhaps the Lizard-Girl was some sort of bait for the Lion-Man. Or perhaps she was meant to be some sort of diplomatic agent since the two furries would have a lot in common.

Rose rolled her eyes, an exasperated 'huff' nearly making itself known as she moved onto the next member of the squad. Her brain was immediately taken back to highschool when the worst part in the school play was being a tree. Somehow, this guy had gotten that part for life. It would likely be in the team's best interest to keep the kid away from fire. Perhaps away from combat in general, wood wasn't exactly known for being the best line of defense.

Turning to the last member of the team, Rose held onto the thinnest shred of hope that they'd be someone of use. Instead, she found herself staring into a faceless man dressed like Don Draper. It was quickly becoming apparent that she was this team's first line of defense.

With a reluctant sigh, Rose climbed onboard the jump-ship. Buckling herself in, she positioned her body to watch out the front while Batman expertly piloted the ship into the sky.

Don't underestimate them.

The male voice in her head made Rose cringe as she tried to get comfortable on the hard seat.

Shut up.

The jump ship made admittedly good time. Travelling from Metropolis to St. Roch in less than half the time any commercial plane could have made it. Rose had only seen comparable times from some of the private jets her father had chartered over the years. Realizing they were getting close to their drop site, Rose decided it would be best to try and get everyone talking, perhaps work out some of their jitters before the group was ejected from the plan and plummeting towards the ground.

"So..." Rose said, breaking the dull roar of the jump ship's stealth engines. "Q? Can I call you Q?" She asked looking directly towards the Question. "Why do you dress like you're out of the forties? I get that your whole schtick is being a detective but surely the Dick Tracy look could be updated? Maybe some leather?" She jested, put one leg up on her chair as she rested her chin on its knee.

"We're coming up to the drop." Batman's voice could be heard loud and clear as Rose stood up among her teamates and began to fasten her parachute. Looking around, the Lizard caught her eye. Reaching out a hand, Rose tried her most sincere voice as she offered her assistance.

"Ever put on a parachute before? It's not the easiest thing the first time, I can give you a hand if you'd like."
@Divine Darkness But your Flash sheet was so well done! And we don't have a Speedster.
And I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that.

"Hmmm." Chester was the first to break the silence as he looked down at Whitney's feet, scratching his chin as he did so. "I would have expected your abilities to be more... related. This is a surprise." He continued pushing his wheelchair back slightly as he addressed the pair again. "It would seem where Aiden has the potential to manipulate electromagnetic energy, you are able to at the very least manipulate the growth patterns in flora. Although I very much doubt we've come even close to seeing the limitations of either of your abilities today." Chester stated flourishing his arms slightly as he grinned from ear to ear.

"Literally the wallflower and the man with the magnetic personality." Chester said as he looked from Whitney to Aiden. "I think we should approach this with a scientific method. Y'know experiment with what the two of you can really do. As great as electric pulses and big flowers are, I think you too could really make use of these abilities." Chester rubbed his hands together with anticipation. "Why don't we meet by the bleachers on the football field tonight? Say... midnight?" He asked, his eyes rolling back as he tried to remember what time it would be dark at. By midnight he was sure the only places visible would be those with artificial light. Meaning Aiden and Whitney could safely practice their abilities with no one seeing them.

"Yeah, I... uh." Aiden started, rubbing the back of his head. This was all happening so fast. Would it affect his football career, what would his parents think? What would the church think back home? "Y'know what," He continued. "Screw it." He said with a wide smile of his own as he put out a hand. "I'm in."

Putting his own hand overtop of Aiden's, Chester looked to Whitney as Aiden followed suit.

"So what say you Miss Carter? Are you in?"

Slowly opening the mailbox, Adrian Moretz reached inside reluctantly as his hand took a hold of a small pile of envelopes. A heavy sigh left his chest as he pulled them out, the emblazoned red letters of 'Past Due' staring up at him as he shuffled through each envelope. A crushing weight sat on his chest as he turned to go inside, slowly opening the front door of the aged Victorian home. The land the house sat on had been in Faulkner's family for generations, dating back to the 1700's. Before that, the land had been used in the Salem Witch Trials, many men and women having lost their lives on these very grounds. It was this tidbit of history that had allowed Adrian and Miranda to purchase the house at a reasonable price. The locals swore up and down that the land and house were haunted, the urban legend scaring away more than one potential buyer, at least until the Moretz's came along.

Desperate, with a baby on the way, the couple couldn't be deterred by myths and legends when they were rapidly outgrowing their current housing arrangement. Seeing the price, it was only a matter of days before they submitted an offer which was just as quickly accepted. Believing things had finally turned around for them, the Moretz's moved into their new home and prepared for the arrival of their son.

When the baby arrived, every possible thing that could go wrong seemed to do so. The baby was born very premature, leaving the Moretz's with a stack of hospital bills well beyond what they could afford. This was followed by Miranda's own complications as she became afflicted with postpartum depression, distancing herself from both the baby and her husband. Losing his job was only the latest development in the spiraling tale of the Moretz's.

Walking back inside the door, Adrian rubbed a hand against his forehead in frustration as the sounds of the baby crying echoed through the house. In between wails came the sobs of his wife as she tried her best to put the child down for the night. Suddenly there was a loud 'THUD' followed by silence. Pausing as the worst possible scenarios ran through his mind, Adrian turned and took a step towards the stairs. The silence was broken by Miranda's sobs escalating into the wails of a banshee as Adrian ran up the stairs, bursting into the room only to find Miranda holding their own life-less son. Despair filled his body, as Adrian sank to his knees, a man broken. His eyes darting back and forth across the room until cracks in the dry wall caught his eye. A perfect impact mark from a small head.

"Y-y-you..." His lips trembled as Adrian raised a finger towards his wife. "You killed him." He stammered as she violently shook her head.

"N-no." She replied before looking down. "No, no, no, NO!" She repeated, flying into a frenzy as the lifeless body was dropped from her arms. Adrian dashed forward, cradling his son as tears poured out of his eyes.

"Why?" He asked, the single word hanging in the room as it was quickly repeated, "Why?" He screamed as Miranda back away. Her hands scrambling as they found a pair of scissors. Her sobs became louder and heavier as they were mixed with Adrian's. Walking towards Adrian, Miranda held out the baby as she violently shook her head before suddenly lifting the scissors and driving them across her throat. Blood sprayed from the severed jugular as Miranda twitched and fell to the floor. The light in her eyes leaving as Adrian slowly sank to the ground, kneeling in her blood before collapsing into the fetal position, the warm crimson liquid soaking through his clothes and invaded his every sense.

Thursday, May 25TH - 11:38 PM | Corner of Third and Jefferson

The alarms at Mildred's Fine Jewelry sounded through the small street as a hooded figure shambled away from the scene. Sirens could be heard in the distance as the New Lilith Police Department responded to the alarm. A cruiser rounded the corner, the figure being blinded by the headlights before it quickly shambled towards the alley way as the police bore down on the thief. Clambering up a fence, a hand suddenly grabbed the ankle of the thief as he was halted.

"Stop!" The officer cried as the hooded figure looked back. The light of the officer's flashlight blinded the man as the officer suddenly stumbled backwards in horror. The thief's face was twisted and rotting, his left eye barely sitting in its socket. With a snarl, the man pulled the rest of his body over the fence, the skin of his bare arms catching as he went over. A large laceration appeared down the forearm but no blood was spilt, just broken skin covered in yellow pus.

Scrambling for his gun, the officer drew the weapon and fired. The bullets clearly hit the man but they did little to slow him down as he kept running. Reaching for his radio, the officer squeezed it with his free hand as he held his gun up again to fire, this time aiming for the running man's legs.

"This is Officer McKenna, I've got eyes on the suspect, he's resisting arrest and clearly some kind of new freak. Code fifty three, possibly Hyperhuman."
Wait a minute, does this mean the Rookie's gonna have to take on a costume and alias right out of the gate?

I mean, It's going to happen one way or another, but I was kinda hoping that wouldn't be until later on so he has a few episodes to grow into his role and mature as a person before he drinks the koolaid and becomes a proper superhero. <_<

Costumes don't necessarily make a proper hero.

*Looks at Rose's sample post*

More like a work in progress hero.
Ah okay, so like a week tops per episode?

Also finished the blurbs for the JSA
Wait, how long are you anticipating each episode will take to finish?
Approved his list. Should have everything ready to go to begin the RP sometime today. I *think* we might stagger the Eps a day between each other, but I'll have to check with LW.

I had honestly assumed they'd be launch simultaneously since there's two of us to handle them. At the very least, two one day and then two the next. That way if someone can say post today, but their episode doesn't go live until Wednesday and they can't post until Friday, they'll be able to post instead of having the episode stalled out of the gate.

But that's just my two cents.

I'll be drafting mine today either way since I have the time.
Got some running around to do and two other posts to make today but after that I'm going to start drafting up the two episodes I'm responsible for so that they'll be ready to go as soon as KL gives the order.
