When a group of players click and the posts keep roling in, that's what GM dreams are made of.

We're roleplayers, of course we're going to make a third option the GM didn't present.

The GM should know exactly why each character was or wasn't accepted and be willing to state such. But the reality is that sometimes other characters/players just synergize better

"Well if it isn't Bratgirl, Whitegirl and the Silent Knight. What happened, did Starbucks run out of Pumpkin Spice Lattes?"

"Bitch, I drink my coffee black."
I guess my counter question is why do you care? There's a very easy reason for why you wouldn't want someone posting in your thread anymore, but I am having a hard time wrapping my head around why you'd invest time and effort into coding a method (though it's probably not that hard) to prevent people from reading your thread altogether. They can't really do anything with it, save maybe plagiarize and/or parody it, but like, just create a new account and read the thread bro, it's not that hard to circumvent these types of thread bans, or just bans on RPG in general (and yes, I guess I would know ).

Yeah, I'll admit the removal of the ability to view a thread was a bit of a half-baked comment. With ban skirting being as easy as it is, and the fact that the only solution beyond that would be to limit viewing to logged-in accounts, it would ruin a lot of the accessibility of the Guild.
Is this still recruiting?

I might slap in a Raven or Flash character if y'all are willing to have me!

Still recruiting! I believe we're always open.
Guess which scottish GM is having a busy week.

Barbara Gordon spent her developmental years watching the Batman work alongside her father. When Gotham's Dark Knight debuted a young sidekick in the form of Robin, Barbara was inspired to be a better Robin and thus Batgirl was born. Eventually earning the trust of both the Boy Wonder and Caped Crusader, Batgirl was brought into the fold and became a part of the family, aiding not only Bruce and Dick, but also Dick's successor, Jason. Forming a sisterly bond with Jason, it was the second Robin who took it hardest when Barbara was attacked and left for dead by the Joker in her apartment.

This event left Barbara temporarily unable to walk due to the bullet grazing her spine. Jason on the other hand was driven by his rage to a point of recklessness which resulted in his death at the hands of the Clown Prince of Crime. Unable to fight crime like she used to, Barbara focused her efforts elsewhere and became the information broker known as Oracle. Despite the good, she could do as Oracle, it wasn't enough for Barbara. Pushing through her physical therapy, Barbara worked harder than ever to get back to the physical form she had been in prior to her attack.

This is a Barbara Gordon that has a mission. The further she finds herself lost in that mission, the more she's realizing that she needs allies. That's where Cassandra and Stephanie come in. One is a mysterious girl that Barbara happens to rescue on the streets of Gotham, the other is the daughter of a supervillain, playing tattletale vigilante. But together, the three of them are the Batgirls.

While this version of Barbara was attacked by the Joker, she was never left paralyzed, though she did suffer a spinal injury that left her in rehabilitation for quite some time. During that time, she became Oracle, finding new ways to help people before eventually being able to re-don her cowl and return to the streets. While all of Gotham is under the protection of the Dark Knight, Barbara has laid claim to the district known as Burnside. Burnside is an 'up and coming neighbourhood' currently undergoing a restoration funded by Wayne Enterprises in the aftermath of a fire that devastated most of the borough. The area is home primarily to Gotham's young adults and is centred around Gotham City University.

Our story will kick off with Barbara finding a common link between several cold cases left unsolved by her father. Unravelling that thread leads her into Gotham's underbelly and into a conspiracy as old as Gotham itself. In the process, she'll face reinterpretations of other familiar foes, train new allies in the form of Steph and Cass and work alongside the other members of the extended Batfamily pending cooperation from their respective players.

As the restoration and rejuvenation of Gotham's BURNSIDE continues, numerous condemned buildings have been found concealing hidden passageways and caches filled with passports, money and strange weapons. Though any evidence of this in the media has been buried, numerous leaks made their way online attracting the attention of BARBARA GORDON. Realizing the connections between these buildings and several of her father's unsolved cold cases, Barbara is intending to uncover the truth and unravel the conspiracy that hid it.

<Snipped quote by Lord Wraith>

Personally, I think it'd open people up to reverse-stalking. There's probably a better term for that, but I see it something like being @'d just for browsing a thread and having someone question you or try to harass you into joining. I don't need people potentially DMing me or calling me out in a thread because I happen to be subscribed to it.

Also some people just like to keep things private and on the down low. It's why things like ghost mode exists. Heck, since we're on the topic of subscriptions, even Youtube has the option for someone to hide their subscriptions from everyone.

If such a system were to ever be implemented, then perhaps the solution would be to link it to ghost mode and people who use ghost mode won't appear in the subscriber list (and/or unless 'friends' with the GM potentially since ghost mode is only supposed to act as such to non-friends). I think reverse stalking already happens, it's not uncommon to see an eager GM tag or call out viewers, especially repeated views to their thread and I'd argue a GM is in every right to do that. They are after all acting as a recruiter when starting out a game and some players need to feel wanted or desired before getting involved.

Ideally, a GM being able to see who is subscribed to their thread is a quality-of-life tool though. Why go chasing down players who have ghosted if you also know they've unsubscribed from the thread? However, if a player has been quiet for a while and are still subscribed, a GM could be more inclined to approach them. Alternatively, if going through a recruitment drive, a subscriber who is not a player would be the first person I'd want to approach.

To further complicate the idea, I wonder if it'd be possible to subscribe and list yourself either as something akin to 'interested' or 'just viewing'. Assuming the aforementioned 'ghost mode' link doesn't solve any concerns.
I disagree, tbh. At least for the "see who is subscribed to your thread" part. I don't think it's really anyone's business at all to know what others subscribe to in private, GMs included.

I'm really having a hard time wrapping my head how a thread creator being able to see who is subscribed to their thread being a violation in privacy. Would you be able to provide an example or elaborate more on that thought?
