The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Judging by the Internet's definitions of introversion and extraversion, you'd think everyone's either an extreme hermit or a party animal with no in between.

Bio

A frazzled British thirtysomething cat mum with something of a tea addiction.

I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.

@Heckno12 Yeah, that's the kind of thing that happens when there are more than two people interacting. Anyone can post next though, in this case.

Btw, everyone here, what do you think of the final forms of the Alola starters? That Grass/Ghost owl is awesome, I wasn't expecting that typing.
@Eklispe @Dusksong You two ok with having Ella tag along as a travelling partner?

Edit: Yeah, I saw your sig Eklispe, but I misspelled your username and didn't know what else to do than edit the post...

Cici laughed. "Oh, I can be plenty scary. Rawwrrr!" She growled and snarled, making the silliest face while holding her hands out in front of her like claws. Looking up at her, Forte let out a soft giggle. Dulcet's chirrup sounded like a chuckle. "Aw, you don't think so either?" Cici said with a mock pout as she looked from one Pokemon to the other.

Lights were starting to come into view through gaps in the trees. "Yeah, let's find the Pokecentre," she said, pushing branches aside as she crunched her way through the undergrowth, taking care not to trip over in the darkness.

Shapes scuttled and fluttered past. A Burmy, covered in leaves, scurried from one shrub to another with a rustling noise. Dulcet backed away in midair as more Dustoxes, as well as Venomoths, flew overhead. In the background, Cici could hear a xylophone-like sound. Kricketots. She couldn't wait to catch more Pokemon, but it probably was best to find somewhere to stay first.

Park lamps illuminated vividly-coloured flowers. They were certainly pretty and sweet-smelling, but a little too neat for Ella's liking. The wildflowers of the surrounding forest held more appeal for her.

The thought of exploring brought a thrill of excitement and nervousness. She'd heard the stories. Most of them were probably made up to stop children wandering off, but even so... She'd never explored a place so filled with wild Pokemon before. It would probably be best just to stick to the edge of the forest for now, and find somebody to travel with, but there was no way she wasn't making the most of the start of her adventure.

"Hey. You. Can't you read?" A voice snapped her from her thoughts. She turned her head to see someone sneering at her, then at the Trubbish, while pointing to a sign. "No littering in the park."

Treasure hid behind her trainer's legs. "Don't listen," Ella said, hurrying along, gesturing for the Trubbish to follow, though she knew ignoring such words was easier said than done. "C'mon, let's take a break."

Sitting down on a bench, Ella took out another Poketreat. Treasure's face lit up with a toothy grin at the sight of it. "You're adorable. You know that?" Ella said with a warm smile, unwrapping the treat and feeding it to her friend. She took out her own snack from her bag, a slice of chocolate cake. Once she'd eaten it, she molded the foil wrapping into a little figurine, using the Poketreat wrapper to make a dress for it.

Another Pokemon caught her attention. A Weedle, happily munching leaves as a young man spoke to it. Her mother considered most bugs pests that got into her garden and destroyed it, but Ella had always rather liked them. "Aww! So cute!" she said, standing up and admiring the little Bug-type Pokemon.
@c3p-0h He seems like somebody Cici and Tommy will get along with.
@OtomostheCrazy That's ok, I was just wondering if we had that situation again where several people assumed it was others' turn to post. Good luck with the quiz.
@Noxx I think we'll all be going to Vareena after Mesalon, but there'll be quite a bit of stuff to do there that isn't contest related.

@Heckno12 @fer1323 @OtomostheCrazy Are people waiting for each other to post again?

With its rustic furniture, peach-coloured walls and warm lights, the shop had a cosy atmosphere, especially now night was settling over the town. Ella bounced in, gazing around at the display of stock. So a Pokeball was only five Trainer Points... She really could be close to getting her second Pokemon.

"Hi! I'll have one Pokeball, please," she said, bounding up to the woman at the till and getting out her Pokedex. Her eyes widened at the number on the screen. In the time it had taken her to get to the shop, she'd gained one more point. "Actually, make that two."

The woman chuckled, dimples appearing on her kindly face. "Well, aren't you enthusiastic." She picked up two Pokeballs and handed them to the new trainer.

After thanking and saying goodbye to the woman, Ella skipped out of the shop, feeling the cool evening air on her face. "Huh. I wasn't expecting that!" she said to the Trubbish at her feet. She didn't know exactly how fast these Trainer Points generated, but she'd have to keep checking to see what her options were.

Ella bought 2 Pokeballs
@OtomostheCrazy Yeah. The main rule is be creative.

Street lamps gave off a soft glow against the darkening sky, as did the windows of cottages. Under one of the lights, Ella sat on a bench, the screen of the Pokedex in her hand also glowing against the shadows. So this was how her adventure would work.

She'd let out Treasure, who shied away from passers-by, staying at her side. Looking down, Ella beamed. "Nine Trainer Points? Can you believe it? Nine Trainer Points already! That should be more than enough to buy a Pokeball!" Her eyes shone. "We could have a new friend pretty soon!"

Putting her Pokedex away, Ella gazed towards the distant forest. It seemed that as the town went to sleep, the wilderness awakened more than ever. She could hear the faraway cries of Hoothoots, and see what appeared to be several Venomoths flitting above the trees. It was as if the sounds and sights of her hometown had become clearer, brighter, now that the Pokemon were within reach.

She stood up and skipped along the path, Treasure hopping beside her. The window of the little shop was thankfully still lit. It made sense that the store would be open, many trainers liked to stay up late, after all. She still couldn't believe this was really happening. Despite her mother's wishes, she was now a trainer.
@fer1323 Yep! They could gain a better understanding of each other. Or just argue. Or both.

@OtomostheCrazy Ok. There are no categories (cute/beauty/clever/tough/cool), we just go with whatever moves we want, as long as we do something creative and spectacular with them. Move combos are a thing, but we won't be following the rules of the games, we can make up our own combos as long as they make sense. Using two Pokemon will be an option.

Even without categories, Poffins will still help, so we'll be gathering plenty of berries in Vareena.
