The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Bio

A frazzled British thirtysomething cat mum with something of a tea addiction.

I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.

"I said... I said I wouldn't..."

Cici shook her head, eyes closed tight. "Nobody hurts them..."

Her eyes snapped open, blue again. "Nobody hurts my friends!"

It was only by keeping her Pokemon's wellbeing at the forefront of her mind that she was able to pull free, falling to the ground in front of Tommy. Fatigue took over again. She propped herself up, staring at him with her shining white gaze.

"You came to take me away..." she said. "You came for me this time. But would you keep helping me in a year's time? Five years? If anything happened to me then, would you even know? Or care? Humans are fickle beings. I've been let down once. I won't let it happen again."

Before she could say anything else, the green glow reappeared around her. She let out a cry as something began to rapidly drain what little energy she had, pulling streams of the light towards it.

A Shiinotic emerged from the greenery, its glow much brighter than that of any of the others, and becoming steadily more intense.

In another burst of light, all four or Cici's Pokemon appeared, ready to defend their trainer even in their weaknened state. Either the Pokeballs had been jarred by the ruckus, or the Pokemon had somehow heard the commotion.

"No!" Cici yelled, staring at Forte and Dulcet, who looked ready to collapse. Beside her, the two children fell to their knees, surrounded by the same green glow. It wasn't the Sylveon who had put the curse on her, or on the others... This absurdly powerful Shiinotic in front of her must have grown bored of her and the other captives, deciding they were more trouble than they were worth.

As it readied a ghostly purple beam - Confuse Ray - to fire at Epsilon, Cici had an idea. "Dulcet... if you can, Safeguard," she called. Blue force fields appeared around all of the humans and their Pokemon. "Now, Ligeia! Sing!" The Igglybuff started singing a soothing melody. Behind the barrier, which blocked the effect, Cici watched the Shiinotic drift into a deep sleep.

It was exhausting just to turn her head to look at Tommy. "Quick! Use a Poison-type attack!" she said, glancing at Epsilon. Surely a Poison-type move would do a considerable amount of damage, even if this Shiinotic did seem much stronger than the others - just how many people had it drained?

Ella nodded as the old man asked her if she wanted to heal her Pokemon. "Yeah, thanks," she said, handing over the Pokeballs. "And we were going to call it a night anyway. No matter what an exciting place this seems." The man's warning was worth listening to - Ella had grown up in a town that could be dangerous enough at night, after all. Still, she couldn't wait to explore the next day.

"Huh?" She looked over at Leisy in surprise. "I didn't know Pokemon actually did that! I guess now we've both got Ghost-types, we'll have to train them not to cause too much trouble," she said with a slight laugh. "As awesome as they are, they really do seem to like their pranks." That was when she realised something. "Hey! At this rate, you'll go up a rank as a trainer in no time!"

Solanna Delacloude

Mesalon Pokecentre

@fer1323 @Noxx

Solanna gave a slightly strained smile at Oscar's mention of trainer battles. "Yep! It really can, especially if you've got two Pokemon working together," she replied. "I used to do competitive battles as well as contests, though, well... It turned out contests were more my kind of thing." She added on this last part hastily, a note of false cheer in her voice.

"Anyway!" she continued in her usual chirpy tone. "What kind of show are you thinking of putting on with these two?" She gestured towards the Eevee and the Growlithe. "You could show me some of the techniques you've already got, if you want. But first, what do you want to do?"

Although she kept smiling, she hoped she wouldn't have to tag along and watch a gym battle. It would bring back too many memories of her days as a new, ambitious trainer.

Amber Pine

Mesalon Pokecentre

@fer1323 @Noxx

Amber glanced at Nyxx. As interesting as contests sounded to her, Nyxx didn't have the same view, and was rapidly becoming bored. "Training sounds like a good idea," she said. "I was planning on catching and training Pokemon anyway before the gym battle. I take it you'll want to train your new Eevee." She looked at Sloth, who had decided to curl up and take a nap. "Interesting species there. All those possible evolutions and battle styles."

She stood up, turning her attention towards Oscar and Solanna. "Well, if you're going to go and practice for contests, we could always meet up later," she suggested.

Sophia Danvers

Outside Mesalon Gym

@OtomostheCrazy @Heckno12 @AbysmalDemon @Dusksong

For a moment, Sophia stood there silent as the guilt came flooding back. Then, Alexis smirked. She was clearly her usual self again.

Sophia sneered back. Her defenses had faltered for a moment, but were up again. Alex's comments helped. She was surprised that he didn't already know about her abilities, she'd assumed he'd heard her conversation with Rheese the other day, and then there had been the berry incident just now... But if he hadn't seen exactly what had happened, that was a relief. The Pokeball trick was a much, much better first impression of what she could do.

"Like it's our fault some jerk was wasting our time," she replied. She'd show Alexis she knew better than to let that little remark get to her. "Oh, come on, you saw him. Is your memory really that bad?" She crossed her arms, her smirk widening. "If you want a poser, you should see what that idiot's like! And you just wait till you watch me. You'll eat your words then. Now, step aside!" With that, she strode past Alexis, into the gym.
Working on a post, not sure if it's going to be up today though, got invited out to watch Rogue One. Which I've already seen, but wasn't going to say no to seeing it again.
@OtomostheCrazy Yeah, true. Other people already know Alexis, though... Then again, they've spent more time with Sophia, and some of them have seen a different side to her.

@fer1323 Welcome back :)
@AbysmalDemon I'll most likely be able to post tomorrow. @Noxx @fer1323 I'll also reply with Amber, haven't done a post for her in a while.

Why is everyone more sympathetic towards Sophia than towards Alexis? I suppose she's the more tolerable one, but only marginally.
@Zarkun Good to hear everything went well :)

@Dusksong I won't be able to post today, but probably will be able to tomorrow.
Oh! @Balthazar007, now you're back, there's something I wanted to ask.

How are gyms and contests going to work? Do we use CP to create a gym or contest hall in an area? And what kinds of areas can have both? A few of us were discussing this a while back and we were wondering if smaller locations should have one or the other, but Feyhollow would be the most obvious place for a Fairy-type gym even though there's a contest hall, and something Tora said implies it could have both.

"Don't worry, we can always return to Feyhollow. Perhaps when the Gyms and Contests are back and holding a event here."

Besides, I had an idea...

What would make the most sense/ work best for this system?
@AbysmalDemon I'll post after you if that's ok with everyone else.

As Cici went to sit down at the foot of a tree, that green light enveloped her again. Her legs gave out. The Sylveon used her ribbons to catch her, letting the musician rest against the tree. The light around Cici disappeared, and that of the Morelulls and Shiinotics brightened.

"You want me to play again, don't you?" she mumbled.

Moving slowly as if her limbs were weighed down, Cici tried to reach for her guitar. That was when it happened. A Pokeball at her belt shook, bursting open. "Kri! Krick-kri!" Giving an angry chirp, Cadence jabbed the other three Pokeballs with her stubby arms, letting out her teammates.

"What...?" Cici blinked and stared with wide, suddenly blue eyes. "No! Watch out!" The Morelulls clustered around, releasing spores. Cici tried to stand up, only to slump with a groan. She felt a soft grip on her arm, and her tension melted away. "Don't start another fight," she said to her Pokemon. "There's no need to."

As the Pokemon started to drift off to sleep, Forte struggled to stay awake. With an ear-splitting yell, he started jumping around, attacking the Morelulls in a frenzy.

"Aah!" Cici jolted out of her dreamlike state, wrenching herself free from the Sylveon's grasp and covering her ears. She gazed around in horror. She'd ended up here once more, somehow, and whatever had brought her back to this place was threatening to pull her under again... While Forte's Uproar attack held off the effect, Cici took the opportunity to try standing up.

The Sylveon, wincing from the noise, wrapped her feelers around Cici, pulling her back down. Cici twisted and turned, slackened - and snapped to her senses as her attacker shrieked. The grip loosened. Cici looked over her shoulder to see Dulcet, beak glowing white, pecking and scratching at the ribbons so fast she moved in a blur.

Fury Attack. This had to be Fury Attack.

Letting Cici slump to the ground, the Sylveon looked from her torn feelers to Dulcet. She let out a furious growl, eyes narrowed, fur standing on end, pink energy crackling around her. A wave of the energy slammed into Dulcet and Forte, knocking them flying.

"Forte! Dulcet!" Cici crawled towards the two injured Pokemon. They were still breathing, but barely able to move. Ligeia and Cadence both squealed as they rushed forward. "All of you, return! That Sylveon's too strong! Aagh!" She ducked out of the way of an errant Moonblast, managing to quickly return all her Pokemon. Some of the Morelulls hid, some tried to calm the Sylveon down, and some followed Cici as she half-stumbled, half-crawled away.

Her strength was running out. She had to get her friends to a Pokecentre before the spell could take hold again... She fell to her hands and knees.

Sombody helped her up, but this time it wasn't the Sylveon. Human hands grasped her arms. Cici glanced from side to side. A young girl and a boy who looked to be in his teens supported her. Both of them studied the newcomer with white shining eyes, just like she currently had.

"I said I wouldn't let anyone hurt them..." she murmured.

Ella whirled around, that look of delight returning to her face. "Another one! And it's so cheerful!" Her stare became one of shock as the wild Gastly licked Bidein, causing him to fall from Leisy's shoulder. "Ah! Bidein!" Putting away the Pokeball that contained her newest friend, Ella ran towards Leisy, Treasure waddling after her. The bird was still concious, but clearly having trouble moving. She glanced all around, but there was no sign of the Gastly.

She checked the map on her Pokedex. "It shouldn't take much longer to get there," she said, letting Treasure back into her Pokeball and continuing through the tall grass towards their destination. "And when we next get the chance, maybe it's more than just potions we should buy."

@Zarkun Hope it all goes ok, and take your time while you're recovering, there's no rush.

@Dusksong Coming up with those names is so much fun :D And I think only Ella could scare a Duskull.

@Balthazar007 I put up ToadRopes' mission on Feyhollow notice board, how do I notify people? Do I post something in the IC, or is checking mission boards just something people should do regularly?
