Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

Depends on how well Eve can follow multiple conversations. Keep in mind her only company has been the undead for...a number of years.

Fortunately, it's just like Nero not to think of how well Eve might follow, and also, there is absolutely no excuse for him knowing about her previous company. It's OOC information.
Lugu, you sorta missed my post...

All that happened was talking. Talking can be done after talking, right?
Fleo Plector – Magnolia

@t2wave@CirusArvennicus

Though Ariel's change of heart and accompanying ghostly magic drew from Fleo a raised eyebrow, she was relieved that the girl would be able to make the admittedly strict deadline. She watched as Ariel was literally spirited away by Annalise's backdraft. That problem solved, and knowing that Trinity could travel herself, Fleo activated her own sirocco and sped toward the train station, throwing up a distinctive stream of dust behind her as she raced by stores, houses, and commons.

She arrived at the train station in what felt like no time, her hair whipping around despite the cap's best efforts to keep it contained. In actuality, the trip took her six and a half minutes. It hadn't been uneventful: several times she'd been privy to the sight of Trinity being dragged along by a tornado-fueled parachute. Now, watching the minstrel climbing off the ticket booth's roof and seeing Ariel and Annalise nearby, she knew everyone had managed to make it on time. “Yeah, we're all here. Awesome! Our first obstacle has been overcome, and we're on our way to adventure. This is a sure omen of victory!” After purchasing tickets from a not-as-impressed vendor and rushing to the platform, the four-female team dodged inside the closing train doors and managed to find an unoccupied cabin after only fifteen minutes of wandering, during which Annalise managed to remain in a rather dopey personality.

This didn't change as the train departed, and the dye-haired foreigner simply stared out the window, watching everything with wide eyes, as if it was the first time she'd seen it. When the train crossed a bridge over a running, sparkling river fringed with verdant trees, Annalise sighed, and spoke in that clipped accent for the first time in a while. ”It's all so fantastic. It's like I'm in a dream.” Fleo looked over at her and sighed, not sure what to make of her.

Eliza – the Frenzy Fort

@liferusher@Caits

Eliza shrugged nonchalantly. “Vell...it is not unreasonable to think that even von such as I might haff trouble doing this job alone,” she said, pronouncing her 'i's as 'ee's and glancing at the newcomers without much enthusiasm. “I suppose I can let you two join with me. Really if thing is a spirit.” She pointed out the supply room, down the hall. “Get from the storage some stuff, and ve vill go in several minutes.”

Nero – Dragon Fang Hall

@Invisible Man

The sight of Prince, especially having already attached himself to an otherwise venerable guild master, elicited an irate smirk from Nero. It seemed that he wouldn't be able to forgo the pleasure of the catman's presence, though an encounter with him, whether physical or verbal, could still be avoided. Eager to not become a target, he looked back again at the strange newcomer, and judging by her sudden lack of shackles, Nero guessed that she wouldn't be carted off to a sanitarium just yet after all. It took a substantial amount of effort to not burst out laughing when poor Ayame, who he'd left in the room a few minutes ago, smacked right into her. Ignoring the so-called Time Lord walking off toward some kind of room with Jack Goran for now, Nero pushed himself off his resting place and made his way toward his companion and the young woman she'd just collided with.

Drawing closer now to Eve, Nero noticed that face-to-face she looked even more exhausted than she had at a distance. If not for her happy outlook, she would have appeared downright morose. As best the genie could place it, Eve hosted the 'zombie look'--a living death that arose from too much coffee and too little sleep, though given her evident status as a necromancer, he wryly supposed that the term fitted her somewhat more thoroughly. As he opened his mouth to greet her, something clicked within his brain. Weird looks, dark powers, but always smiling. Where have I seen this before? With that in mind, Nero banished his the cutting comment he'd planned and decided to go with something a little more mundane. Snarking could come later. ”Hey there, Aya!” he announced in a singsong fashion. “Gone and klutzed your way into someone already, have you? Don't worry, I don't blame ya. As I can attest, dark magic has a certain allure. So,” he turned now to Eve, “What the hex your story? Takes a lot to get outta the mitts of the Rune Goons...not that I'd know. Was that the Dragon Fang mark they branded you with? Ooh, that's gonna hurt in the long run. If I had to stay in a wizard guild, I'd just die, if the pitchforks didn't get me first. And you did this voluntarily? Eck.” The genie made a disgusted face, but then shrugged, adjusting his glasses. “But maybe you're into that. Lemme tell you though, nothing takes the joy out of masochism like a slow roast. Better to do it quick.” He grinned, hoping that Ayame didn't know what 'masochism' meant but not particularly caring if she did.
Then ask Lug. Or I'll do it.

Hey @Lugubrious what is Habeen the dark mage and Jeane the thief's role in the coming battle?

I say we employ Habeen and Kuur to harass [the axemen] until Jakobe, Nick, and I deal with the archers. Timmy will accompany us to make sure we get through intact. Once we break the archer's line, they'll flee to try and get back the range. By positioning Gaius and Jeanne behind [the archers], we'll ensure that there's nowhere to run.
Even when I don't feel like I ought to read everyone's important contribution to the IC of a given roleplay, I usually skim for people's avatars. If I'm RPing with Lucius and I see Kakyoin when scrolling, I know there's a post I've got to read.

I'll begin using mentions in my posts that involve Greyson.
@t2wave did you perchance miss my latest post?
Number fifteen actually, Prince.
Fleo Plector – Phoenix Wing Hall

The minstrel's arrival caused Fleo to perk up. Jumping to her feet, she declared to the group, [“Looks like we're all here, then! If we're all awake, we ought to head out. Yesterday evening I scooted over to the train station to check the schedule, and there's a locomotive that passed through Onibus leaving in about...” Fleo's eyes opened wide as she beheld the clock on the wall. She offered the other women an embarrassed smile. [“...Ten minutes. Oops.”

Fleo rushed outside, with Annalise on her bandaged heels. The train station lay all the way across town; it would take some serious footwork on everyone's part to get there. The dusty woman rounded earnestly on her hooded companion. [“Is there a way you can use no-name to get to the station?”

At that, Annalise treated Fleo to a withering frown. “What d'you think I am, a fortune teller? 'Course I can move fast. Watch and learn, toots.” Brushing Fleo aside, she held her sheathed sword in the air. A web of cracks spread across the surface before the scabbard fragmented into a swarm of pitch-black butterflies. Still bearing a condescending demeanor, she flourished the bared blade in the air, and the metal seemingly disappeared. A moment later, judging by the amount of air now cycling around them, Fleo guessed that the steel hadn't vanished, but materialized into wind. So, too, had the butterflies become sylphs, and all at once they flew against Annalise's body, carrying her with them invisibly but steadily. To onlookers, it might have very well looked like the dye-haired foreigner was sitting on an invisible chair, and even Fleo had to admit it looked rather weird.

Watching Annalise go, she raised slightly skyward on a cushion of dust, but before rushing off turned back to look at Trinity and Ariel. [“Trin, I know you've got that weird sort of net trick you used to find me, but you okay to follow us, Ari? Most fire mages I've known have used their powers to boost their jumping, at least. Oh, but if you've copied my Dust Magic, then you can use Sirocco, right?”

The Frenzy Fort

@liferusher

With Gabriel concentrated on poking Thor, he lost his chance at nabbing More Than a Feeling when the somber Eliza plucked it from the board instead. She made as if to walk off, but glanced at the two newcomers for more than an instant, even if it was down her nose. Chances were, she couldn't do the job alone, and it would be easier to deal with the attention of people she didn't care about than the people with whom she'd already formed bonds.

After a moment of unease, she took a step toward the two and offered the slip to them between her fingers. “Vere you two vanting to do thiz job az vell?”

Nero – Dragon Fang Hall

Breathing a sigh of relief that the Rune Knights hadn't even noticed him, much less recognized him, Nero prepared to invade the bar and order something special: real bacon. His enthusiasm for grilled flank meat diminished a tad, however, as he happened to catch a glimpse of the commotion that the Rune Knights were apparently on hand to deal with. With as much discretion as he could gather, Nero leaned in to check out what the problem was.

Apparently, the whole fuss revolved around one girl. Looking at her, the genie could not say he was impressed. Ragged, dark hair, unhealthy-looking skin, sunken eyes, and purplish discoloring around said eyes made her look like, as best Nero could place it, a creep. The fact that such a cheery smile adorned such a face made her almost downright unnerving. And did someone just say necromancy? Yipes. It did not escape Nero, unfortunately, that yet again he was being hypocritical. “Geez,” he murmured, “I hope I don't look like that. No wonder nobody likes me. Hey, at least she'd probably go for a wish later, if the Rune Goons aren't hauling her off to an asylum. That'll be fun.” As much as he wanted breakfast, the dark mage decided to linger around a moment more to see how the conflict was resolved.
Ah, well. Kinda makes you wonder why Phoenix Wing didn't cart Nero off, even with his reputation. Perhaps he just isn't quite as overt. Or maybe his silly attitude makes people think he's just a child fooling around, and not a real threat to be taken seriously.
I'm slightly behind in IC reading, so please let me know if there's an opening after the drama with the Rune Knights for Nero to jump in and interact with Eve, @Invisible Man
