Dahlia is fair of complexion, with bright red hair swept over one shoulder and black eyes. Despite her age, she still has freckles. She wears a ruffled, dark-purple frock beneath brigandine armor. This armor is canvas packed tightly partially lined with oblong steel plates riveted to the fabric. Her body is lean, and her hands very rough.
Weapon Partner: Virgil
Personality: Dahlia is innately curious and hungry for knowledge. She is a perfectionist and a scholar through-and-through, dedicated to solving problems. While not particularly selfless, she has an acute sense of right and wrong and will be generally considerate to others, though her ire is easily earned by the foolish. She is very patient, except when it comes to finding out intriguing secrets, and can easily put up with most people. While neither aggressive nor fond of fighting, she gets quite a rush from it, which she finds somewhat disturbing. Her intelligence is of particular note, and given her position as a meister, she is not lacking in the leadership department, either. When not in a good mood, Dahlia can be snarky and unpleasant, but even in the direst of times she is dependable. A little-known fact is her infatuation with her partner.
Hailing from the Chrysocolla archipelago, Dahlia went through an unremarkable adolescence in the town Laudanum. While she found she had a keen interest in history, going so far as to read as much as she could about the various continents and races, Dahlia also developed a fascination with technology not commonly available in her country of origin. With each word she imbibed and picture she analyzed about the machines, automobiles, and other such innovations that could be found in the mainland in the east, she grew more enamored with progress, until she was so focused on the past and the future that the present couldn't sustain her curiosity and desire. Her parents, recognizing their daughter's need to leave the natural world behind, sought out the aid of Mrs. Zywie Cane, a botanist from the mainland temporarily living in the islands for her studies. The good-humored doctor soon became fast friends with Dahlia, and after Dahlia completed secondary school in Laudanum, she requested that Mrs. Cain allow her to travel with her as she moved to the mainland.
Not long thereafter, the journey began. Filled with excitement about visiting the wondrous world the she had touched upon in her history books, she left the islands of Chrysocolla with Mrs. Cane. Every new thing was an object of interest to her, and the more strange or complicated the sight, the more delighted she was. When she finally arrived in the seaboard city Jacaranda, which situated the university at which Mrs. Cane worked, she was exhausted but happy. Rooming with Mrs. Cane in an apartment near the college, she promptly enrolled using the funds her parents had saved up for her back on Chrysocolla. During this time she learned of DWMA for the first time, and resolved to apply.
She met Virgil on a rainy day, having both taken refuge from the storm inside an old building. For lack of anything better to do, the two settled to talking. Their personalities clashed almost immediately, but neither would admit defeat by resorting to rudeness, so their argument only grew more heated. Neither noticed the building growing darker and quieter. Out of nowhere, a malformed shape flew from the shadows to attack the two. Shocked, Dahlia suffered an egregious clawmark, but before the monster could kill her Virgil transformed into a tower shield to protect her. Working together, the two managed to beat down the creature, and at Dahlia’s beleaguered advice he consumed its soul. Later, while Dahlia got patched up at a hospital, she explained that she planned to attend DWMA as a Meister, and with sudden shyness asked that Virgil attend as a Weapon. Though it went against all his plans, Virgil decided to throw caution to the wind and oblige her. The two traveled to Death City shortly after.
Soul Resonance Technique: Rebuff Overdrive – when her soul resonates with Virgil’s, he is surrounded in a shining, tumultuous, gaseous coating. When attacks or projectiles come into contact with the Rebuff aura, they are deflected. The better the resonance, the faster the movement of the silver wind across the surface, and the faster and more powerful the reflected attacks are. While physical attacks simply bounce off, projectiles can be deflected in whichever direction the shield’s eye is facing. This even includes invisible and nonprojectile attacks like curses, jinxes, and hexes; they will be reflected onto the caster.
Soul Detection Skill Level: She’s actually pretty terrible at it.
Flaws: She’s a tryhard, a smart aleck, overly inquisitive, and has bad Soul Detection
Weapon
Name: Virgil Marowit
Age: 19
Gender: Male
His teak-brown hair is wild and untamable, and the rest of his body is very hairy besides. He has a large, thick nose, a big chin, and an eye with black sclera and magenta iris. His left eye is covered at all times by a patch with the likeness of a fearsome eye sewn onto it in gray thread. Taking it off, it is revealed that it is a lazy eye with bad vision. Virgil is a big man, with an admirable musculature mostly hidden under a little bit of fat, but his tendency to stoop makes him seem shorter than he really is. He wears a one-sleeved blue silk shirt with a burgundy sash on top, which itself has magenta tassels. In comparison, his black pants are decidedly simple, and his thick-heeled shoes oddly modern. A necklace made of wooden fangs and a big backpack complete the ensemble. When not in use, his shotgun resides stock-up inside the backpack.
Weapon Appearance: A contoured tower shield with a scaled, cobalt surface, and an eye like a larger version of Virgil’s own in its center. Aside from the eye, which Virgil can open and close as he wills, the only interesting part of the shield is the handle, which can be rotated. Upright, defense is better, but pivoted to follow along his meister’s arm, he makes a great bludgeon.
Meister Partner: Dahlia
Personality: Through gruff and by no means outgoing, Virgil is nevertheless an outstanding friend. He treasures close relationships and socializing with others, generally pursuing quality over quantity in terms of compatriots. He is tough and somewhat impulsive, and while of no more than average intelligence, he has a certain charm and common sense that make up for his lack of genius. He doesn't mince words and tends to speak exactly what is on his mind, and he can be scornful of those who lack integrity and basic fortitude. He has a strong honest streak, but has no real semblance of a hero. He sees Dahlia like a little sister, and is suitably protective of her, though he can also be bossy.
Born in the coastal city Jacaranda to as the second son of a security guard named Saver Marowit and the deli owner Heather Cane, Virgil's upbringing was rougher than most in the affluent port. His busy parents devoted all the time they could to him, but they could not always be with him or his brother, and in search of connection with others the two sought others. At the ages of five and seven respectively, Virgil and Yosef joined a couple of other boys at play. Every day after school, the children reconvened, and they formed a fast friendship that lasted until high school. There, troubled by the dichotomy of academia versus enjoyment, the group split in two. As hard as it was, Virgil and his pal Emmet tried to keep firmly on path of progress, while Yosef, Andrew, and Jabin pursued pleasure. The only place where the two factions would meet was in Jacaranda's resident gym, where they all put aside their differences to compete as wrestlers.
After graduating, the five were poised to disperse across Chalcedony. First, though, they decided that they would throw in one year of part-time work, traveling, and general perusing of the world before they settled down once more for college. After working out one day and on the way to his apartment, Virgil’s bike broke down, leaving him stuck in the city in pouring rain. He retreated into the nearest building he could find to wait out the storm, and there happened to meet Dahlia. I would, but given that you seemed to move us into the facility (away from the intercom) as well as the one who would actually know whatever Priscilla would know, I figured it was best to ask you.
Prince could give us an answer, but I didn't know whether you had told her what Priscilla would know or not.
I didn't necessarily move the entire group inside, I gave it the option to. When the group does eventually move into the room, they'd discover the body and the various rooms. If it seemed otherwise, I'll go back and edit.
You bring up a valid point about what Priscilla knows. I'll speak with Hearts.
@Lugubrious Oooh Sodastream was great, but I think its becoming less popular around my area and the only flavors were these Kool aid ones. They weren't the bets in my opinion. They had some pretty good Mountain Dew ones but they added so much sugar to it that they just tasted awful. In the end my favorite was Cola.
They have normal flavors? All I ever use is fruit flavors with natural Stevia. Making brand sodas seems like defeating the purpose, kinda.
You could almost be going through withdrawal symptoms. Cola is highly addictive, and the sugar in it gives you an almost natural high. I've seen it, with my grandmother. When she ditched it, she wasn't feeling well, she had the shakes and became sweaty.
I myself haven't drunk cola in about three years, not since I learned the reason why it is called coke a cola. They use to put cocaine in it, like forty years ago. Who knows what they put in it now. So smart choice ditching it, I think. That's why I'm investing in a soda stream-you can make your own natural syrups to put on jeans it's much healthier
Sodastream's pretty nice. I make myself cherry limeades, raspberry lemonades, and fruit punches with it, and they're all tasty and refreshing. I also like regular sodas, being active enough to keep their unhealthiness from really affecting me, and drink a fair bit, but I severely doubt that it is addictive to all people. As part of a charity program for the past two weeks, I drank water instead of soda the whole time, and I never went through withdrawals. By the way, just a little fact check: the last traces of cocaine were completely eliminated from coke in 1929, just 14 years shy of a century ago. I'm not too worried about that.
Do you have any unique sodastream flavors in Australia?
