Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

Oh right, Arcon. I was wondering why Logos seemed to be doing every element of Slough's job. I had forgotten that he got his own planet.

Anyway, I feel bad that I'm not up to the common standard in terms of writing ability and creativity, but I will continue doing my thing.
<===== Only Sane Man

That's a bit of a bold conjecture.
So I just lost a post I've been spending the last 3 hours one.

Goodbye.

Goodbye sweet prince.

Yeah, all over whether we should have tea and biscuits or tea and khookies
Even Ghengis was in awe - at least he wanted revenge and whatnot, you guys just hated tea with biscuits

That's highly reductionist. Allow me to offer a highly reductionist counterpoint: imagine if your dad lived across the ocean from where you, under his direction, made your house yourself, and then had to continue living under his rules. Rather than giving you an allowance, he takes one from you. Now imagine many thousands of children all doing this for that absentee father. Might this rub you and your siblings the wrong way? Again, this masks the complexity of the situation, but I've acknowledged that it's a crude summary.

I expect you were making a joke though.
I'm never a fan of gratuitous timeskips that are simply there because people feel they ought to have been there. Making this the case retroactively would mean it took Slough millions of years to walk around the shore of the Fractal Sea, for instance, but I suppose time's relative for deities.
Oh, we're getting started immediately? Alright, I guess. Who're we fighting?
I've been mostly thinking of unique weapons. I'm excited to see what everyone dreams up, character-wise, once the OOC gets made.
@Lugubrious Does Galbar have all the animals from RL?

Yeah. Except for mosquitoes.

What's all this with being down on humans? I for one am a general proponent of humans.
Nero the Genie – Phoenix Wing Stands

@Prince of Seraphs@cirusarvennicus@t2wave

A magnificent snicker blossomed on Nero’s face, though he couldn’t tell which was the chief contributor: Elizabeth’s asinine statement or the squeaky, high-pitched voice she said it in. Had her mind already reverted? Or had it never developed in the first place? Life’s mysteries would forever plague him. ”Do unto others, kiddo.” A frigid glisten on the ground and seats bade him pause in his derision, however. A roll of his eyes heralded the realization: the little prodigy had magic all the way back then. What a bother. The rate at which it spread perturbed him, and the genie reflexively stepped back. His mind raced to figure out whether age itself constituted a magic inhibitor for Elizabeth –one that his curse unknowingly removed- or the Law of Retrogression somehow backfired and strengthened her sorcery rather than stunting it.

He glared insistently at Trinity as Elizabeth started to talk, demanding mediation. After all, were the Phoenix Wingers not paragons of restraint and virtue when the opportunity suited them? The little creep’s crude poetry certainly registered with the minstrel, but rather than stepping in to try and halt the magical display in any way, Trinity conjured up a miniature orchestra’s worth of instruments and somehow activated them all at once. An impressive noise, to be sure, but other than drown out Elizabeth’s last two sentences it did nothing. Nero groaned. ”So obviously, attack the person with mental problems. You’re a therapeutic genius, kiddo. I liked it better when you didn’t talk.” He snapped his fingers, and the curse relinquished its hold on Elizabeth instantly. She grew back to full size like an unleashed spring. No doubt the unnatural experience disoriented her—just as the dark mage planned. As a hyena darts in to secure the kill, Nero slipped forward and poked the girl in the chest with an outstretched finger. A high-charged Law of Embodiment buried itself within her, and from the impact point outward both human and clothes began to turn to wood. Nero hopped back, smiling and saying, ”Wouldn’t have to do this if these Wingers were any less useless. Then again, I didn’t have to needle ya. It’s not every day I meet someone like me, dearie. Shame you had to get on my bad side. In another life, we could have been the best of friends.” He crossed his arms, waiting for the wood to close over her face and render her nothing more than a statue. ”Still, wood you mind leaf-ing me alone for a while? Nyeheheh! Toodle-oo, psycho!” He beat a hasty retreat, aware that his curse could last as little as ten minutes.
Oblivious to the occurrences back at the settlement, Clotho fluttered back toward the camp of the Overlord. She trusted the situation behind her to sort itself out in the most appropriate way possible: either her allies' strength prevailed and proved their worth, or their foolishness and weakness got them killed. Either way, the outcome suited her, for both, in their own ways, would be justice. On the way to the Horde, she ascribed to no flight-pattern in particular, for her daring aerial maneuver back at the orc encampment had torn open the wound in the small of her back. Each beat of her wings strained her muscles, and given how many times each beat per second, the cumulative pain could not be ignored. With the composure of a commander, however, Clotho returned to base with no sign of hurt more visible than gritted teeth.

Dutifully she made a beeline for the habitation of her master and waited to deliver her report. When he could spare her attention, she knelt slowly, and told him, "Sir. The advance party discovered a large orc camp. We performed reconnaissance there and got a rough idea of their numbers, armament, and leadership. During this time, however, we were separated, and an unrelated fight among the orcs drew the attention of the demon Torrens, who decided to attack. D'Artagnan leaped to assist him. Faeles and I remained undetected. I left them behind under the impression that they could handle a platoon of orcs with ease, but I can return to assist them if you so desire."

After the Overlord made his reply, even if it were only to acknowledge that the report had been given, Clotho left quickly. She spent a few minutes among her insect troops, making sure that they would be ready for battle on a moment's notice, before retiring to a tree. A couple moments' rest before she returned to her orders would do far more good than harm. Stretching her limbs, the swarm queen attempted to keep her wings still. The arrow to the back might have just as well have been a curse, with all the agony it caused. Unlike many members of the horde, Clotho's body was purely organic in nature; she couldn't simple ignore or flash-regenerate any wounds. Still, in a way she welcomed the pain. It reminded her that she was alive--that she was fighting and surviving for something she believed in. Before all this, she mused, what she had been doing had not been living.
