CHARACTERS

Hello!

It's your local steamed bun. Nice to meet you! I go by Mantou or Mant-- whatever you want, really.

You can usually find me playing Casual, and sometimes I'll dabble in Advanced if I have the time. While I'm not the best at writing, I definitely enjoy learning as I go. It's a big reason I stick around.

As a student, I always try to find time to reply. With that said, time management can be difficult, so I don't sign up for over 4 RPs at a time. Other than fandoms (that I'm not a part of), I can generally enjoy any genre of roleplay. So far, I've played in fantasy, supernatural, slice of life, horror, and wuxia (discord) settings.

Additionally, I live in the Philippines, and so I follow the (GMT +8:00) timezone.

That should be about it for important details.

Feel free to message me if you'd like to talk or discuss RP concerns!
如果你出于某种原因需要用中文和我交谈,我们可以。但只有一点点。

NICE JOB EVERYONE WE DID IT!! @@WindsOfFate@Gentlemanvaultboy@Searat I had a lot of fun having Gou fight alongside Yuri, Luna, and Grizzy-1 :)

Thanks for the great GM work thus far @IceHeart, Sign Master will truly be missed. Looking forward to the next monster.

And welcome to the fray @ZAVAZggg! That was quite a pleasant introduction. I'm very curious about this undead 'lich' entity Edgar mentioned :>
I'm totally okay with it! It fits the situation very well so please go ahead
Post is up! sorry for the wait, had some school stuff to deal with.

Gou tries to go for one of the Sign-Master's hands. Maybe if we try to target both the SM's hands it will render its abilities useless? I'll leave it up to you guys now :)

Gou

On the other side, a raging wave tore its way through the ice towards the Sign monster. Once again, it was a level of elemental skill that he only ever witnessed his elder martial brothers reach.

Gou looked back at his handiwork to be greeted with Grizzly-1’s thumbs up. He grinned at the mech and hacked away harder. The ice eventually broke but it was clear that Grizzly-1 was in a state worse for wear. The disciple watched as the giant robot willed itself forward still, and let loose what looked like strange robotic insects.

Another brilliant combination attack: Yuri’s deadly butterfly swarm, Luna’s rolling tidal wave, and the Grizzly-1’s light-emitting hornets. The excitement inside his chest swelled, swallowing in anticipation as he felt his mission nearing the end. In a way, he wished this would last longer.

"Alright you obstructions have put me behind schedule long enough! Time to jump this joint! Well, tunnel actually!"

Gou clicked his tongue at the word “tunnel”. His mind flashed back to the moment he entered from the manhole, already knowing what the Sign Master intended to do. He grit his teeth as a flash of irritation pricked at him. When an animal is cornered, they’d have no other choice but to flee. Next to him, a damaged Grizzly-1 stood still as the air around him distorted, as if it were in a trance. Something seemed to be happening to it, but there was no more time to wait. The situation was progressing fast, and before he knew it, the monster had already jumped down a tunnel.

The two perfectly executed strikes just barely missed. The butterflies, however, continued to follow. Gou decided there was enough time for him. With another click of his tongue, the disciple hastily unwrapped his upper robes and threw his scabbard down, leaving him half-naked. Now with enough freedom to do so, his body began to contort, submitting itself to the flow of energy that surged from his core. Within mere moments, Gou assumed his wolf spirit’s form, standing tall at 5”10, even on all fours. He slipped his head in between the rope that held his scabbard and let it fall to his chest, allowing him to wear it in his beast form.

Upon noticing that Sign Master had already left, the wolf dropped his head to the ground and inhaled. The monster bought with it a stench akin to heavy rust - and in this form, tracking was his specialty. Additionally, Yuri had already dispersed the cube they were in.

The direction the monster was heading in didn’t spell anything good. Before proceeding, Gou gave the group a howl to signal his departure and urged whoever could follow, to follow. The beast immediately took off into a sprint towards the Sign monster’s figure. This time around, the Sign Master definitely upped his pace, but Gou’s tailing abilities never failed him before. If speed was the game, then he was all for it.

Gou huffed as he sped up, effectively regulating his breathing to conserve as much energy as possible. At the same time, he was manipulating the wind behind him to will his body further and faster. In this form, his energy communicated with the elements much easier. It proved not to be much of an effort catching up to the alien. From behind the Sign Master, the beast’s eyes glared wide as he began to zero in. With a leap forward, the black wolf moved swiftly through the air and attempted to catch one of the Sign Master’s hands in his mouth. The plan ahead of this was uncertain, but keeping the Sign Master in one place was his main priority, entrusting the events afterward to his newly-found teammates.

Sick! That little backstory about the teleporter is quite interesting.

This is good, ill get to work on a post soon and have it up in a couple hours

Expressing interest! in the mood to fight a demon thing. I'll have an app up tomorrow
@WindsOfFate Noted! Would you like to go before me? I have a pile of schoolwork I'll have to finish first, so my post should be up by tomorrow night (GMT+8)

@Searat It seems Grizzly-1's outer armor has been broken off. Despite that would he still be able to move alright? Or would he require assistance?

Tingles ran up and down Calven's body as evidence of a budding romance across the table reached his ears. The boy did not intend to eavesdrop, but the mention of duck à l'orange grabbed his attention... and held on until the very end of their conversation. With ears the color of habanero, he pursed his lips together and let his eyes wander anywhere else except in their direction.

The awkward spell dispersed as Karya's voice came to greet him. "Good to meet you Calven! And yep. Ixius, you heard him, about getting along." He smiled sweetly at Karya, but felt slightly hesitant to say anything back. Just a while ago, her anxious posture made it clear to him that something weighed heavily on her mind. Though it was not in his place to wonder why let alone ask.

Soon after, Lorelei, the girl with the vibrant hair, spoke:”I think it would be more entertaining if she didn’t answer ANY of your questions, keep you in suspense of what is true and what isn’t.” Oh, that was yikes. Still, Cal's internal audience clapped for her and the few others who took up a stand against Anise. Then, a realization came crashing down on his head like a 44-pound sack of potatoes.

He didn't even know what he was clapping for. Just now, they were speaking up for a reason... and that was because of something that happened between Anise and Selena, right? And yet he was sitting here the whole time like an idiot, tasting all the food and watching the two mages in front of him hiss at each other. His face fell as he sighed, wishing he had paid more attention to the fox girl earlier.

”Well aren’t you just cute as a button.” Calven was taken aback. He lifted his face to look at her, his bewilderment manifesting slowly on his cheeks. A hand rose to his uniform and traced the small sewn-on disks, feeling his face grow stuffy from the coming heat. This was the first time in his life being compared to a button. Not only that, but she'd called him cute. There was no other way to take that... it was definitely a compliment - the first one he's received since coming to this school. He buried his face in his hands momentarily, completely sure he was going to turn into a tomato.

"Fank youuu..." he mumbled through his palms.

”Meh I’m only in this for the money…” At this moment, he wanted to tell her: "Yes, aren't we all? Money is quite nice. Money is great, actually. I have a lot. Would you like to have some?" Even if it came from a good place in his heart, something inside urgently willed him to scrap that train of thought and walk far away from it.

A few moments passed until sound of wood tapping at the plates sounded from his left. Chopsticks? Someone was using chopsticks. Instantly, the thought about Selena from earlier came back to crush him in waves. But before he could sulk, Karya asked a rather important question directed to the group.

"Not to bring down the mood too much, but if you're from the Librarium, you wouldn't have heard anything about this? About what's been happening lately?"

Calven glanced at Karya, then back to Ixius. He wanted to mention something that seemed important the more he thought about it, but needed some time to recollect his memories. Then Selena spoke from the side to answer first. The mention of adventurers that vanished without a trace almost lined up with what Calven had to say, and he felt the need to add on to the discussion.

"He say roads are no ...s-safe anymore. To travel alone...he said."

He nodded in her direction in acknowledgement before continuing, "I don't know much, but I'll tell you what I know. My father takes up a seat at the Magus Librarium, and so it's normal that he makes himself scarce at home." he paused at the mention his own father, feeling rather uncomfortable. "...but I have not seen him for the past 7 months. My teacher said it was due to a case that needed to be dealt with, but would never go into detail. Then he suddenly insisted on accompanying me for walks right in our own garden of all places... I found that very strange, especially considering that we live in a gated community." Calven glanced around the table before sparing a thought... their family estate was not too far from Hoseforn. Cases were present there. Though he didn't know where Selena was from, he was sure that she was not from around his city, surely otherwise, he would have heard about a fox girl on the loose. Adding on to that, even if Ixius had heard from the Librarium, it still counted for three people who had some idea of what was going on. He furrowed his eyebrows at Ixius and rested his chin on his hand.

"Just how far could these cases span over Ealinata...?" he muttered to the group. A wave of unease washed over him as his look hardened. It was an uncomfortable feeling, and he began to understand why his teacher never told him about the details of his own father's case. He shook his head in an attempt to distance himself from the troubling implications of the situation.

Calven didn't want to leave that question lingering in the air, so he cycled through his mental history and landed on the next most troubling thing.

There was a glance to his plate, then a guilt-filled look towards Selena, and finally he had come up with an idea. The boy proceeded to neatly place 2 pieces of roast chicken on his plate and quietly slid it over to her side of the table, being careful not to get in anyone's way. A peace offering, one to apologize for his lack of situational awareness.
