"As if I'd lose to you," said Olivia in response to Gabriel, giving a large roll of her eyes as she clung to the long-haired boy beside her. At first, Reese struggled in her grip, but she was relentless with her hold. She ignored what he had to say about the situation, and became slightly relaxed when he did not fidget. Gabriel soon bid them farewell, but not without a snarky comment that made her narrow her eyes at his retreating figure. She wasn't even that short; it was just that he was too tall. Maybe Circus Freak was a fitting name for him.
Soon enough, Reese worked his way out of her hold and made his way to the boys' cabins. She quickly waved goodbye to Grant, murmuring a quick "see you later" before chasing after her friend. Catching up to him rather quickly, her arms wrapped around him in another hug. Her embrace was not as tight, but much more gentle as she showed her friend affection. "I'll catch you in the mess hall!" Olivia told him, giving him one of her trademark smiles before running off to the girls' cabins.
Olivia eventually found the cabin that she was supposed to reside in, taking a few steps up to it before noticing there were boys there. She had seen the short one before, but the exotic-looking one and the brown-haired one were foreign to her. Giving them a confused expression, she graced them with a nod in greeting before stepping around them and entering the cabin. There were already girls in there, and she recognized the one that she had encountered those two years ago. At least there's one face I know around here, she was grateful for that fact before taking a few more steps towards them. Another wide smile came cross her mouth as she waved at them slightly.
"Hey! I know you!" Olivia cheerily exclaimed as she approached Jade. "You're the one in Shiganshina, two years ago... but," she turned towards the other girls, her head tipping to the side. "I haven't seen you guys, before. My name's Olivia, Olivia Zesiger! I guess we're going to be cabin-mates from now on!"
Olivia turned towards Gabriel, not very amused with his teasing. It wasn't like she was that short, anyway. She was pretty sure that she was about average height. It wasn't her fault if the big guy was... well, so big. "Maybe you should stop wondering about how short I am, and instead think about how I'm gonna kick your ass in training!" the girl retorted, her smirk widening. She knew Gabriel, at least, somewhat. To her, he was another friendly-but-giant face that she had grown used to.
"And that means the same thing for you too, Grant," Olivia turned towards the other male, her hands removing themselves from her sides as she crossed them in front of her chest. With determination, she watched his face closely for any sign of surprise. Getting a reaction from who she interacted with was what she liked. "This mouse has a pretty big bite. She can fell the two of you Titans with one hand behind her back!"
Laughing and smiling, she moved closer to Reese. Her arm snaked across his waist as she leaned heavily against his side. The boy was a comfortable cushion, as she had found out when she lived with him. He was almost too good to resist cuddling up to him or even using him as her personal pillow. Not to mention, he was a pillow that didn't complain. "Grant, you're a big boy now. Don't you think you can make your own decisions?" Olivia giggled. Reese's words did put a dreary feel in her heart. She was pretty sure that she would miss the food she once ate. "I think we should all eat as much as we can. Going to sleep on an empty stomach isn't a good idea. We kind of have to find our cabins before we eat, though..."
Schulz's words stung her like a whip. Being compared to another person made her feel pitiful, but Olivia held her stance as best as she could. As quickly as she was berated, the man moved on to the next two. He made the other boy run as well, and for a moment she wondered if the short boy was going to get back in time. The blond male at the very end was berated for looking like a female, as well. She felt bad for them, but the emotions were pushed to the side as soon as they were dismissed. With a relieved sigh, she dropped her salute. Her body felt damp and sticky. Had she really been sweating that much?
"So," she turned towards Grant, grinning as she jabbed his side. The two were friends and so, she was pretty comfortable with teasing and joking around with him. "Pretty Boy, huh? It looks like the big guy likes you more than he does me."
She tossed her arms above her head as she stretched deeply. Her limbs felt sore and her legs felt wobbly. "We should probably see where we're gonna sleep," Olivia told him, motioning for Grant to follow her towards the cabins. However, a recognizable voice caught her attention, and she spotted Reese and Gabriel talking with one another. The girl's smile grew as she took a detour towards them, making sure that Grant was still following.
"Hey, you two!" she greeted as they approached. Olivia set her hands on her hips as she looked at her two other friends. The four of them came together when it was time to enlist, but Reese and Grant were the ones closest to her. "That felt like it lasted forever, didn't it? You three must be starving."
One by one, each of the recruits were shot down by the foreboding man before them. Like a ravenous beast, he lurked through the lines. At times, he lashed out, snarling in their faces and striking them. The only thing that came out of his mouth were things of spite and hate. The whole scene made Olivia fairly uncomfortable; she was not used to seeing people getting treated in such a way. Especially people who she thought to be her friends. Even from afar, she saw the spittle flying from the instructor's mouth and falling upon the fresh faces of the initiates. Every so often, she couldn't help but exchange the quickest of looks with the friend beside her. Even then, the sight of a familiar face didn't calm her nerves. She swallowed roughly when the instructor arrived at Grant's position. Olivia expected that he would get a tongue-lashing as well, but his words soothed the older man's fiery rage. Slightly calmed, she stood straighter and forced herself to face forward, holding her salute as she remained as still as a statue.
For a moment, she was relieved that the man did not see anything "special" in her, at least not enough to harass her. But like a vicious creature, he shot back towards her, his face shoved into hers. The sound of his voice nearly made her jolt, but Olivia held her stance as she struggled to keep her eyes facing forward. There was a smoldering fire in his eyes, one that intimidated her. But the girl remained stern-faced, that was, until he started to yell about her being in two places at once. Wait... what? she thought, following his motion towards Jade. Did they really look alike? She didn't even remember-- or hear -- most of what Jade even said.
"My name is Olivia Zesiger, sir! I came here because I'm going to kill the Titans, sir!" she tried to keep the answer as generic as possible, hoping that it was somewhat close to the other girl's explanation. Though her feet dangled off of the ground, Olivia remained steadfast in the instructor's verbal attack.
