Appearance:
Arthur is a little short for his age, standing at 5'7 and weighing about 143 lbs. His hair is a mousy brown and his eyes are a bright amber color. His skin is pale due to spending his whole life in the north, so he burns rather easily under the sun. He's always covered in some sort of dirt or dust due to travel and his hair might seem a bit messy at times, though he tries to appear well-kept. 

Personality:
Arthur is an aloof person; he finds it difficult to interact with others and will often try to keep conversations quick and to the point. He is short-tempered and will make it obvious if someone is bothering him too much. Despite being prickly and a pain in the ass to approach, Arthur has a passion for Pokemon and wields a great amount of ambition towards his goal of becoming the region's Champion. Other than that, he has no other respectable goals. Thus, Arthur takes the Gym Challenge extremely seriously and will often be seen trudging onward with little to no rest.

His pride is one of his soft spots-- if one wounds it, they will be met with a nasty combination of verbal and physical aggression. This leads Arthur to get in many fights and squabbles that can quickly turn a bit too heated.

Short Biography:
Surprisingly enough, Arthur's childhood was one of pure ecstasy and joy. He was wonderfully tended to by both his mother and father and their family was never in need of money. His mother, the newly-appointed Gym Leader of Snowpoint, brought in enough revenue to give Arthur whatever he wanted. Unfortunately for Arthur, as he grew older his mother would be consistently absent from their house. She worked long hours at the Gym, and even though he was allowed to visit her every so often, he secretly wanted her back home with him and his father. Fortunately for him, however, his visits to the Snowpoint Gym exposed him to many types of Pokemon battles. Those battles spurred him towards an undeniable future; he would one day participate in the Gym Challenge, enter the Champion's Cup, and become Sinnoh's Champion.

Of course, that meant he'd have to become of age, first. Both of his parents agreed that the younger one participated in the challenge, the worse it was; young ones' minds and bodies must be at top shape before they could embark on such a journey, after all. Especially one that was to be televised and especially if said young one was the child of a prestigious Gym Leader. On Arthur's 17th birthday, his mother handed over an egg to him instead of an endorsement. It was from her own Noivern's brood, she stated, and already he knew that he had to take utmost care of the egg. And so, that was what he did.

A few months before the Gym Challenge would make its rounds again, the egg hatched to reveal a fuzzy Noibat. The two bonded almost immediately and Arthur named him Nero for the black scales that would eventually cover the small creature's body. When it came time for the Gym Challenge to occur, his mother endorsed Arthur-- with that, both he and Nero made their way to Jubilife City for the beginning celebrations.
