I am still on RPG, so do feel free to message me. Just don't have the time or energy to actually join any RP's right now. Focusing on a LOT of other projects, including getting into Audio Drama.

"The Stargate can take anything a million lightyears from home, but what will it bring back?"

The discovery of the Earth Stargate near Giza prompted the US military along with some of their greatest scientific minds to determine the purpose of the Stargate and how to activate it. This eventually led to the Abydos Mission, which ended with Colonel Jack O'Neill killing the Goa'uld Supreme System Lord, Ra with a Naquadah enhanced nuclear bomb. After what was essentially a failed mission to Abydos and without the help of Daniel Jackson, who remained on Abydos but was officially labelled "K.I.A.", the program was shut down. The gate was then moved and eventually stored in Cheyenne Mountain.

In February 1997, the Goa'uld System Lord, Apophis, one of Ra's many rivals ended up dialing Earth which saw him and his Serpent Guard troops coming through the previously dormant Stargate and landed the Goa'uld team into the empty Embarkation room. After a short battle, in which several US Military officers were killed or captured, the Stargate Program was reactivated, this time on a permanent basis and on the orders of the President of the United States, Major General George S. Hammond became the new commanding officer of Stargate Command.

To help defend the Earth from any future attacks, new teams associated with Stargate Command were also created, composed of numerous military personnel and civilians with the head team being designated SG-1 which was placed under the command of Colonel Jack O'Neill who had been called back to active duty in the aftermath of the attack. SG-1 although originally composed of Jack, Captain Samantha Carter and later Dr. Daniel Jackson who joined the team after Apophis kidnapped Daniel's wife, SG-1 later grew to have four members as Apophis's former First Prime, Teal'c of Chulak who had defected from Apophis and also successfully helped SG-1 escape later joined SG-1 on a permanent basis as the fourth and final member, Teal'c having proven that he had truly changed and that his loyalty now lay both with the Tau'ri and SG-1 with Teal'c also hoping that they could help free his people, the Jaffa, from the control of the Goa'uld.

The SG teams have had many run-ins with the Goa'uld System Lords, including foiling an invasion of earth by Apophis, making alliances with the Goa'uld's swarn enemies, the Tok'Ra (Rogue Goa'uld that wish to transition their parasitic overtaking of humans into a symbiotic coexistence with them) and The Asgard (a race of ancient aliens that wish Humanity to thrive and potentially join them as one of the great races of the universe.) as well as recently killing System Lord Sokar.

However, a new enemy has dawned upon humanity. A scourge of machines called "The Replicators" which not even the Asgard are able to defeat in a straight fight. After they recently nearly took over a Russian Submarine, but were destroyed, the decision was made by the US Government to finally scale up the project. The UN Security Council was brought in and made aware of the Stargate program, in order to secure better funding and allow the establishment and maintenance of more SG teams. With the urging of the Asgard, the UN have agreed to allow General Hammond to remain in charge of the Stargate Program, but there has now been a large influx of personnel to pick up the slack.

So, where does the RP come in?

The idea of this RP would be a re-imagining of the Stargate Saga, with each RPer taking command of their own SG team. You will go on missions against the Goa'uld, or Replicators, or whatever enemy you so choose. I have seen a lot of RP's of this style going around recently, where this is less of an RP in which players interact with each other and more akin to a group writing project. Feel free to tell your stories, make your characters that can interact with each other in interesting ways, as well as kick some ass in the name of humanity. I really like this type of RP if for no other reason than, most RP's bog down when someone loses interest and the rest of the group has to randomly accomodate for that happening. This kind of RP is one where that isn't really a problem.
@TGM Don't want to seem impatient, but it's been 2 weeks, any update on my application?
@TGM To be honest, right now, i'm so busy i forgot i had even finished it. Thanks for letting me know.
@TGM I finished my CS I know that Kamala isn't in the sample post much, but that's pretty much because, if accepted, my next post would be pretty much the exact same events, but taken from Kamala's view. It just makes more sense to do Robbie's version first since i don't want to have Kamala psychologically scarred by looking at his mangled corpse... That psychological scarring will come later.
I added a CS to the original post. So, anyone that wants to try making a nation, it's up.
@Perihelion Sounds good to me. Futuristic looking Steampunk Magitek sounds like a fun inclusion to the setting. I'll try and get a CS Template up sometime soon.
@Yam I Am I appreciate the suggestion and i have been here since the old site. I do realize that getting any kind of Nation RP off the ground is always a ball-ache and a half, but at the same time, i don't really like advertising outside of the allotted area. I see some people doing it and it kinda annoys me like "We have a whole section specifically designed for this kind of RP!"

Thing is, i've tried running those kinds of RP's you described before and they are almost always DOA as well. So, i thought maybe the prospect of a magic-based Steampunk-ish world Nation RP might get people interested. I get the suggestion and i do know what you mean, but at the same time, i know what i want and if it ain't meant to be, i get it and can live with it. I don't want to just have another Adventure RP be DOA because i have no idea's for it. This one i do have idea's for.

@Perihelion Cool, which moon are you looking to build a nation for? Doesn't have to be canon nations. Feel free to make pretty much anything.
@Yam I Am Nice advice, but at the same time, i want to run a Nation RP because i think the setting lends itself very well to a nation-based setting, rather than a singular RP. I'm looking for political intrigue based on nations vying for power over the skies as they perform chest beating with their mighty skyships.

Plus, i don't have an idea for an Advanced RP. I mean, if it flops, it flops, but i'd rather fail to get the RP that i want to run going, than run an RP that i have no idea where it's going or what to do with it.
"Impossible is a word that people use so they don't feel bad when they quit."

A bit of a weird one, and i suspect not many will be interested, but how about a Skies of Arcadia based Nation RP?

Essentially, i'm thinking of something based in the same type of world, same mechanics, same magics, same technologies, but more focused on the political climate.

Basic idea of how the world works:

Arcadia is a world of endless skies, a Gas Giant where people evolved in large floating island land-masses. To explore and expand, people have invented a Airships powered by chunks of magical rocks that fall from the 6 moons. Each moon is blessed with a different property and is in geo-stationary orbit with the planet, Most every moon has developed a civilization that thrives under it:

Red Moon is the power of Fire, under it is scorching deserts and people hardy enough to thrive in them.
Yellow Moon is the power of Electric, under it, lightning constantly blasts the surface, but those who live there have learned to harness its power to create more elaborate machinery.
Blue Moon is the power of Wind and Water. It's people find their ships have the power to harness the wind, travelling far higher and lower than any other nations.
Purple Moon is the power of Ice, the power to create great sculptures within great ice-sheets, making their cities almost impossible to find and even more impossible to attack.
Green Moon is the power of Nature, their lands are constantly blessed with the most lush and vibrant of jungles, farmlands, flora and fauna alike reign supreme.
Silver Moon is the power of life and death itself in its rawest forms. Everything is binary, either on or off. Their people are said to be the smartest, but this genius comes at a price of unfeelingness.

And then the final civilization, the Pirates, those who roam the skies taking what they please from anyone they please. The Pirates are split into 2 groups:

Black Pirates: They will rob anyone and take anything, they care nothing about honour or decency, only lining their own pockets. They especially love the unarmed ones that can't fight back.
Blue Rogues: They will fight with honour, they only attack armed ships to give them a fair fight and mostly raid Black Pirates. They steal from the rich and keep for themselves, but then use that riches to defend the poor.

I really think this setting could really lend itself to a Nation style RP for anyone interested, i'd love to hear some ideas.
