Since awakening strange cosmic powers from a device called the Psyche-Magnetron, Carol Danvers has done her best to do right by the people of Earth–and anyone in the greater cosmos that doesn’t have someone to protect them. It’s been a tough job, but it has been her duty.

The years since the Chitauri Invasion of Earth have not been easy. After helping fend off the alien invasion, Carol found herself as one of the central members of a defensive initiative that would come to be known as the Avengers. However, as the years would come and go Carol would find herself struggling to deal with her own mental alacrity and her role as a protector of Earth when her Kree heritage dragged her several galaxies away at a time, dealing with crisis after crisis. Some of them inherent to the danger of Earth and some of them not. It begs the question as she gets older, a question that has been asked by her friends in the United States military. How can she be the protector of Earth when she’s three galaxies away solving an intergalactic crisis or fending off a cosmic horror?

The last time I played Carol Danvers she was mostly relegated to Earth stories and I’ve been in a particular science fiction sort of mood in recent weeks. As I’m getting back into a writing groove I’m hoping this won’t come across too clumsy as well. I’ve looked at some of the modern rewrites with Carol between the 616 and MCU as well as thought about how I’d interpret some of her rogues, their space empires, and everything inbetween. As it appears we are getting a few space-faring heroes this’ll also allow me to not be completely isolated going forward.

I'm not particularly good most of the time at planning fifteen arcs in advance, so consider that most of the below will be constantly developing as ideas come-and-go and as they happen in my posts throughout the role-play.

The following is something I just decided to draw up, haha:

Location: Event Hall, Ishin Academy

“Tch. Moron.”

The interaction was stupid and normally she would not have cared too much, but Yoshiba was already in one of her moods.

So annoying.

Yoshiba turned back toward the podium, as if the half hour plus of time was going to go by in seconds.

But she did wonder how long it would be until the headmaster demanded silence and everyone’s attention to go on about their pointless introductory speech. Why not just get to the point? This wasn’t a normal school, this was a hero academy, so why operate like it was some sort of basic primary school for the quirkless? Why waste everyone’s time with spectacles like this? If it were up to her, none of this would even be a “thing” and students would be ushered into their classrooms to get real work done. Had Yoshiba not wanted to be seen as the best, as indicated by her front and center appearance, she would’ve skipped out on the ceremony outright. She could tolerate sidekicks acting like idiots and being bored if it was going to get her recognized as the only hero worth noting. Which was exactly, in her mind, the truth of the matter.

She obviously was excited to get her hero career started and the anxiety of living up to her mother and father was a big task. The air in Sapporo was cold, frost-laden, and uncomfortable. There was no doubt in her mind she would make it in Ishin, no matter the obstacles, but she didn’t know what kind of pro-heroes or discarded has-beens she would be dealing with as would-be teachers. Her future was uncertain, or rather how she was going to get to her future was. She didn’t like that. Everyone in the orphanage spat on her and called her names. Told her she would be nobody. Just the thought of her time in that place made her blood boil. Her hair reacted to this emotion, twitching ever more furiously as she gritted her teeth.

She should have choked the pretentious mean girl with her tentacles. That would have made certain she treated her like the #1 Hero she was instead of the weak orphan she used to be.

That girl, whoever she was, had just made an enemy for life.

When the smoke cleared there was a quiet, understanding celebration.

The void melted into nothing and the bodies of the corrupted turned into ash and bone. The only thing that remained on the battlefield were the remains of what once was. The void, whatever it was, could not rebuild from nothing. It was a taint, a corruption from a place that was not of this world. The soldiers who survived the rush of corrupt goblins and roclings nearly fell to their knees. The remaining hunters finally were allowed a moment of rest. But just a moment. All of them were aware that the pyromancers would have more tasks soon enough and that another fight was on the next horizon. But for now, moments later after the final rush there was peace.

It didn’t look like much of a peace. But they could get their bearings while the pyromancer in charge of the flame, the master pyromancer, prepared his thoughts and his stamina for the next day. The reprieve might’ve felt empty. Only a few of the hunters returned to Uhladein where they had met, albeit briefly, before the fight began.

But that was the reality of the world.

The blonde denizen raised a brow as the clank of Artemis’ vast array of weapons hit the stone tiles that littered the roads beneath them. It was an amusing sight, but she couldn’t smile given the circumstances.

Wayfarers had gotten lackadaisical and some had injured citizens of the city or Lendie’s own guardsmen. In the past few weeks she had received apathy, outright hostility, whining, begging… but rarely had she received a reasonable explanation. This was close to reasonable. As the leader of the group, an apparent Drox fraternity member, explained the situation her hand moved from the hilt of her blade. The member of her group was injured–confused and needed healing, there was no dispute about that and Lendie had no need to send the boy to a hospital. Based on the reports she had many questions for him and the group, but that would have to wait.

The blonde sighed rather aloof as she looked behind her shoulders and jerked her head.

“Andrecille. Heal him.” She moved her eyes back to Seele as the cleric guardsmen moved up from formation and her voice seemed to get even more stern somehow. “You. Drox. With me.”

There was a brief silence as other members of Seele’s group followed orders, albeit anxiously.

“We have reports that a wayfaring group was endangering public safety. This would be the time for you to give me more than ‘sick, confused, and injured’.”
Hey, if ya say so....xD

Happy to be here then! I think I have an idea involving a twist on a certain illusion-weaving, globe-headed rat bastard >:3 I'll probably get to work on the concept sometime tomorrow. Hopefully it stacks up to the rest of y'all lol

Important to keep in mind that Retired wants heroic POVs: "Likewise, these concepts must not be villainous in nature."
Dan Schneider: "Mmmmm... feet."

Dan only likes feet from a certain age group.
