@Daglobster Dengi is definitely the kinda guy we'll need on the crew! Totally approved -- go ahead and copy him to character tab! Also, if you could drop me a small synopsis of his runes and how they work (here or in PM) and anything else that you think wasn't covered in the CS, I'd love to keep a note! :3

@Sisyphus I'm not positive on how to determine who's first -- it has its advantages and disadvantages. The biggest disadvantage is the first person only has Sorn to deal with, haha.

Maybe we should take a vote? We could go first-approved, first-post, which means Slee would be first, Ven second, etc. Or, if certain characters really want to be involved in certain other adventures, we can rearrange accordingly.

So, everyone! Do you have a particular interest in being a part of someone else's adventure? :3

One thing though: your problem is more of a motivation. ;) I'm looking for something immediate that is right now causing her stress. It could be a life and death situation, or she could simply be lost, or thirsty, etc.

@CollectorOfMyst It saddens me to have to tell you that physics doesn't really exist here either. X3 As long as nobody is auto-winning their conflicts, you could have a mechanical horse that runs on hamster power, for example. So sorry, I know physics is near and dear to many hearts, haha!

@Loki Odinson Ven seems like a cool guy! Totally approved, feel free to copy him to the characters tab! A couple thing in the meantime: the last problem I hoped would be something personal, an issue he's immediately having in his own life that's putting strain on him, that he could use help with. It'll be the subject of an intro adventure. Also I love all the worldbuilding! Just making sure, are you ok with me taking and interpreting the npcs, places and factions you presented? My version probably won't match what you might have intended.

So many posts! I won't have time until later to comment on characters, but I thought I should poke in and mention that things don't have to make sense. The world itself is rather nonsensical. Character personalities are far more important than what they have or what they can do. Story is more important than tech levels. It honestly won't matter.

When it comes to details, assume nothing works the way it does irl.

@Rekaigan Good question! Tech levels can be weird if you want -- in my head I'm thinking most of the time clockwork is the highest tech, but some places will have steam, railroads, early-era electricity. But if you also want to crack open a soda can, go for it.

As far as the world goes, I don't think "magic" exists much in the usual sense, but sometimes nature works in peculiar ways: floating rocks and flying islands, goopy living glowing liquid that can power lightbulbs, plants with significant alchemical effects, etc.

In general though, feel free to suggest whatever feels right for your character and where they live -- if necessary we can tweak it so it fits securely in everything else. :)

Before anyone gets too far or too swayed one way or another: while everyone is definitely welcome to make a pirate character, all characters don't have to be pirates -- or seafaring at all for that matter. Equally good are any characters who live in any way among the islands, who might be convinced to set off on adventure. ;)
